    Alastor and his husband, Ani (Angel Dust), are both abducted from Baldur's Gate and infected about the nautiloid. But even once they escape, Ani is horrified to find that Alastor has somehow completely forgotten him and their life together, leaving him cold and defensive and hardly recognizable. In addition to seeking a cure for their life-threatening tadpoles and stopping a fast-growing cult, Alastor and Ani also have to navigate trying to restore their relationship--or maybe forming an entirely new one. And Alastor finds himself combating a darkness within himself that he can't quite name, one that urges him to savage everyone within reach and does not look kindly on his being loved.
