Work Text:
What should've been a regular Metro raid turned into one of the rooms in the office building to explode. The specific room that exploded was coincidentally the one room where bags upon bags of drugs were stored. The reason why this raid was taking part in the first place; one of the workers apparently had connections to one of the largest drug and human trafficking units in all of California.
Tim at the time of the explosion was walking down the hallway, when he heard an explosion taking place a couple feet away. The wall completely came off, and all sorts of dust and other residue being torpedoed in Tim's direction, right onto his face.
"Sarge, you good?"
Behind Tim, one of the Metro members shouted out to him that question. Tim turned around, and waved a hand.
"No, fall back. Get outta the building."
Tim coughed the sentence out, barely registering how his feet had started to feel numb, just like the rest of his body. He stumbles away from the explosion, his hand reaching out to try find a wall to stabilise himself. But when he doesn't find one, his legs give out from beneath him and he collapses to the floor.

Lucy was at home, relaxing on her rare day off after a quick doctor's appointment. Her and Tim had been back together for a couple months after she had gotten high and admitted that she still loved Tim. Since then, they'd had many pleasurable nights and one night must've been especially pleasurable, because after said doctor's appointment, it seems as though Lucy's pregnant.
So, now Lucy was sat comfortably in their living room (they had moved in a couple weeks ago), watching some TV until her phone rings next to her. She glances at the name, deciding whether or not it's important to pick up. But when she sees Lieutenant Pine's name, she knows it's definitely something important. While Tim may still be a training officer, he does sometimes also assist on Metro raids.
"Lieutenant? What can I do for you?" Lucy asks with a hint of nervousness in her voice, because if Pine's calling, it means something's happened to Tim.
"Metro were on a raid today and one of the rooms in the building that they were raiding exploded. Luckily, nobody was seriously hurt, but Tim got some residue on him. He fainted seconds later, we suspect because of the sudden loss of adrenaline." Pine tells Lucy, who's breath had caught in her mouth.
"But I assure you, he's fine, apart from some of the residue he got on him were drugs. Tim's still out, and he's at the station, but when he wakes up, he's gonna be... let's just say a bit loopy. Could you possibly come down to the station to take him home when he wakes up?"
Lucy breathes a sigh of relief, and lets a small laugh escape from her. "Yeah. I'll be able to come." Of course Tim gets high today of all days. She places her phone in her pocket, and gets up to go to the station.

She arrives at the station a couple minutes later, and sees Lieutenant Pine leaning against a wall in the bullpen.
"How is he?" Lucy asks her, to which Pine only smiles.
"He's in his office, still out like a light." she chuckles. "Good luck."
Pine nods, and walks away to her own office, leaving Lucy to go to Tim's. She enters his office and sees him sprawled on one of the chairs next to his desk. Lucy sits opposite him, waiting for him to awake.
After a couple minutes, Lucy sees Tim's eyes flutter open and as they do, they settle on her.
"Heeeeeeyyyy." he drawls out, lazily propping his head upon his hand which is resting on the chair's arm.
"Hi." Lucy says back, slightly amused by this situation.
"Wha... what're you doing here?" Tim asks, fidgeting with some of his hair.
Lucy smiles. He clearly has no idea what's happened. "I'm taking you home. You're high."
Tim shakes his head. "No, no. I'm a cop. I don't do drugs. I can't be high. Besides, I've got work to do." he picks up a pen, twisting it in his fingers.
"You can get high on accident." says Lucy, approaching Tim. "Come on big boy, let's get you home."
"No." Tim says simply, and the pen falls out of his hand onto the floor. He stands to pick it up but stumbles and Lucy has to catch him.
"Woah." he exhales, when his eyes land on Lucy's cleavage. "You're pretty." he straightens up, eyes still fixed on Lucy's chest. "Can we have sex on my desk?" he blurts out.
Lucy bites her lip to stifle her laughter as she feels Tim's hands trail down and rest on her hips. Apparently high Tim is also handsy Tim.
"Well that's tough because I've got a boyfriend." she says, and watches Tim retract his hands from her.
"What?" he splutters, and Lucy has to stifle another laugh because Tim obviously has forgotten that he's the boyfriend.
"Who- who is it? I wanna know." a wave of jealousy and protectiveness crashes over him, because he can't handle the fact that someone is dating Lucy- someone who isn't him.
"Well who do you think it is?" Lucy raises her eyebrows, wanting Tim to think about it.
Tim rubs his temples with his fingers, wanting some memories to come to him through his drug-induced haze. He thinks hard, but comes out with nothing. "I don't know, can you give me a clue?"
Lucy nods, "Yeah. He works here. You might know him."
Tim thinks again, delving deep into his memories again, trying to mould any sane idea of who Lucy was dating. "No." he says. "I don't know. Gimme another clue."
Again, Lucy nods, wanting to keep teasing Tim a bit longer. "Okay then. I'll tell you some names, and you need to decide whether or not you think I'm dating them, okay? First name, Officer Pepper?"
Immediately, Tim knows who that is but thinks for a bit. "No, it can't be him. I don't know, but he doesn't seem like your type."
"Correct. Next, Officer Jan."
Tim's mind swims through his memories, trying to recall who Officer Jan is. "Is he the one with- with the grey hair?" he points to his own hair, and looks at Lucy. She nods and Tim asks, "Surely it's not him."
"Yeah, not Officer Jan. How about, Smitty?"
Tim cringes and crinkles his nose. "No, definitely not him. He's like... 60."
Lucy puts a hand over her mouth to hide her smile, it was definitely not Smitty. "What do you think of Detective Smith?"
Tim closes his eyes for a second, trying to remember who that is. "Is... he the older guy with the handlebar moustache?"
Shaking her head, Lucy responds, "No, it's the tall, dark-haired one."
He scrunches his face in concentration, trying to picture the dark-haired officer in his head, but Tim's brain is still too foggy to picture him clearly. "He's the tall one with the... the.." he struggles for a second, and gives up by pointing to his shoulders, "the big shoulders?"
"Yeah. That's him." Lucy nods.
Tim tries to remember as much as he can about Smith, but comes short when he realises he knows nothing about him. "I guess... he could be your boyfriend? Is it him? Is he the one dating you?"
"Nope." Lucy again shakes her head, enjoying this little game. "Detective Jefferson?"
This time, Tim shakes his head instantly. "No. He's like... 20. You're not dating a kid, are you?"
"No. But the person I'm dating does sometimes act like a kid." Lucy says, but Tim grumbles and rolls his eyes, not in the mood.
"Next name." he pouts. "I wanna know who you're dating."
"Okay. Next name's Detective Hanley."
Tim pauses for a moment, and a fuzzy image of a detective pops into his mind as he remembers seeing him a few times in passing. "I know Hanley. He's the one with the tattoos, right?"
Lucy nods, "Yep."
His expression turns sour, "So it's him then? You're dating Hanley?"
Shaking her head, Lucy says, "Think again."
Tim lets out an exasperated sigh, his patience starting to wear thin. "Next name."
Lucy nods, "There's only a few names left. Sargeant Matthews?"
"Matthews... he's been here for a couple years, right? He has a girlfriend... no. A fiancé, he's engaged. So is it him? Is he the one who gets to kiss you like I want to kiss you?"
Raising an eyebrow and her hand, Lucy sighs. "No. Like you said, he's engaged, and you don't see a ring on my finger, do you?"
Tim's eyes dart to her hand, and he sees that Lucy in fact doesn't have a ring. A small part of him is relieved. "Right, no ring. So not Matthews. Who's next?"
"Sargeant Terry?"
Immediately, a grimace is painted onto Tim's face. Terry's a stout guy, with a permanent scowl. He can't see how Lucy could be dating him, and the though of him touching her irritates him. "Terry. Can't be him. He's an ass... and the though of him touching you makes me feel sick. Why would you be dating him?"
Lucy chuckles. "I know he's an ass. That's why I'm not dating him." Tim chuckles back.
"Last name then. Sargeant Bradford."
Tim freezes, his eyes going wide and his heart almost stops, his mind completely short-circuiting as for a moment all he can do is stare at Lucy.
"S-Sargeant Bradford?"
"Yes. Sargeant Bradford." Lucy nods. "Do you think I'm dating him?"
Tim inhales a shaky breath, his heart pounding in his chest. "I don't know, are you?"
"Think, Tim." Lucy whispered, amused by the fact that Tim doesn't know he's Sargeant Bradford.
Tim tries to think, sifting through the drugs and haze and the jealousy to find an answer, but one thought suddenly stands out above all the rest.
"Wait..." he murmurs.
His heart starts to pound faster as the realisation hits him like a ton of bricks. "I'm Sargeant Bradford. You... you're dating me. You're my girlfriend."
Lucy bites her lip to stop from laughing but fails. "Took you long enough."
A mixture of relief and confusion floods through him as Lucy's words sink in. It takes him a moment to understand what she told him. "Wait, so you are my girlfriend? As in, I get to take you out on dates? And hold you and kiss you... and all the boyfriend-y things?"
His eyes light up. "Does that mean we can sex on my desk?"
"No." Lucy shakes her head, smiling. "We're still at work. And I don't want to be any more pregnant than I already am."
Tim stops again and drops to his knees, his face in front of Lucy's stomach. "There's a baby in there?" he whispers, looking up, his eyes glistening like a 5-year-old's when he gets a large piece of candy at Halloween.
Lucy nods, "Yeah there is." and Tim stands up, interlacing his fingers in Lucy's.
"Come on, we gotta tell everyone the good news!" he says giddily, skipping (skipping?) out of his office, dragging Lucy along with him, and to Sargeant Grey's office. He knocks quickly and opens the door.
"Sarge, Sarge, Sarge." Tim bounces up and down, "I've got news."
Grey gapes at Tim, the unusual view of him being so energetic. He glances at Lucy who just gives him a look that says everything he needs to know- Tim is high as a kite.
"And what's the news?" he asks, looking at Tim again.
Tim, who's barely managing to stand still, says in a cheery voice, "Lucy's pregnant!"
Grey seems taken aback by the news, and he finds himself once again looking at Lucy, his eyes asking all the questions.
Lucy nods, "Yeah. I just found out." she smiles, and opens her mouth to say something else, but Tim cuts her off.
"Now, Sarge. I have an important question. Will you be honorary grandad for our kid?" Tim looks at Grey with the widest smile, and Lucy feels herself start to go red.
"Sir, Sarge! You don't have to answer that." Lucy says quickly, and turns Tim around. "Time to take you home Tim."
Tim slightly whines but looks over his shoulder and waves, "Bye, Sarge!" Lucy only sighs and places her head in one of her hands.

Once they get home, Tim is settled into bed to sleep the drugs off, and Lucy uses the time to prepare a mini revelation party for Tim, seeing as though he probably won't remember anything from their time at the station.
A couple hours pass, and Tim wakes when he hears something cluttering outside of the bedroom door- wait. He shakes in his bed, becoming aware of his surroundings. He's at home. When did he get home? He gets up, and opens the door to see Lucy hiding something behind her back.
"Hey." he says slowly, "What's going on?"
"N-nothing." stammers Lucy, "Come, sit on the couch. We need to talk."
Tim raises an eyebrow, but sits down anyway. "Okay. Something's definitely up. Last thing I remember is an explosion, it was on a Metro raid."
"Yeah, you're right about that." nods Lucy, "The wall that exploded had drugs in it an you inhaled some, and you got high. Like, high high."
"Oh God." mutters Tim, "Please tell me I didn't do anything embarrassing."
Lucy snorts, "Quite the opposite."
"Oh God." Tim says again.
"You forgot I was your girlfriend." Lucy whispers in disbelief, "How?"
Tim rolled his eyes, "I was high, you said so yourself."
"Okay, and you got really jealous and we played an officer guessing game to find out who my mystery boyfriend was, and your brain broke when I told you that you're the boyfriend. Oh, you also asked me twice if we could have sex on your desk."
"Oh God." Tim repeats for a third time, completely stunned. "But wait, that doesn't explain what you were hiding."
Lucy bites her lip. "Yeah, well after you asked if we could have sex on your desk for the second time, I told you we couldn't because we were at work, and I didn't want to get any more pregnant than I already was."
Tim's jaw drops, as Lucy holds out a pair of baby booties.
"You're pregnant?" Tim picks his jaw up and moves his hands to Lucy's stomach. "There's a baby in there?" he whispers, his eyes glistening just like they did when he found out when he was high.
Lucy smiles and nods, only adding to Tim's ecstatic feelings. "I love you Tim."
"I love you too, Lucy." says Tim, pressing a kiss on Lucy's stomach and then lips. "I love you both so much."
Still smiling, Lucy realises something. "Oh! Whilst you were high, you also asked Grey if he could be honorary grandad for our kid."
Tim freezes and deadpans, "I'm never looking that man in the eyes ever again."
