He was a man that had everything, and nothing at the same time, in his hubris, he lost the one person he wanted this world for. There are some things therapy can never cure, so Stanford puts his attention on fixing his biggest mistake.

When the small fire was contained, Stan turned to where the scientist was leaning against a wall, catching his breath; he was relieved when Fidds stopped coughing and noticed that the other man was unharmed, and felt a rush of alleviation at that.
Then the relief was replaced by anger and an even worse emotion: fear.
