Work Text:
In a way, Tecchou is naive. Knowing to some extent the evil of the world, but believing he was able to beat it.
Tecchou was determined to fight for his naiveness, fight to create a world where it could become a good trait.
Where it wouldn't be a weakness anymore, as world would be exactly what naive see it as.
In such a world Tecchou wouldn't be naive, perhaps tender would be a better word. Or some other synonym, it didn't really matter.
And even knowing such place is forever a fantasy, Jouno couldn't help, but somehow, wish for it as well. He trailed his hand over Tecchou's chest, feeling the bandage there. This was one of such moments....the ones in which he wishes for a world where his partner would be safe.
Jouno frown when he recalled how the idiot got himself into the med bay in the first place.
Tecchou took a bullet for him. He didn't know what went through the other male’s brain, he never did, that it made him get shot 'saving' a person whose ability meant the bullet wouldn't even hit him.
Jouno's first instinct was to be mad, assuming Tecchou underestimating him because of his blindness.
That belief didn't last long tho, as he realized that Tecchou would do it for anyone. This discovery, surprisingly, didn't make him feel much better as it only fuelled his anger (and something else).
Jouno traces the bandage again. The second Tecchou was hit he felt crossness.... at Tecchou for being stupid, at the enemies for shooting at them, at the situation but he didn't think about the actual cause of it. He didn't want to- he refused to acknowledge the collective reason for his irritation, but here in the quiet of the infirmary room with no sound but Tecchou's vitals, he couldn't help but think about it.
He interrupts his musing to listen to his partner's life functions. Neither his heartbeat nor breathing was calm, but then again, it never was.
It was the classical Tecchou rhythm, uneven and just a tad erratic like always. For a while Jouno is satisfied with this, assuming the other is alright, but then a doubt slithers into his mind...
...what if Tecchou is in pain, his heartbeat just doesn't show it? But a face of a sleeping person would surely betray discomfort...
... it's not a bad thing to check, is it?
A person with sight would look- so how is this any different.
He's doing it just to check on his partner, certainly not for some strange urge to explore how he looks asleep...
Hesitantly Jouno runs his fingers Over Tecchou's jawline, amazed at its sharpness for a while before scolding himself. He gently traces up the sleeping man's cheeks.
He’s well aware of Tecchou's figure- tall and masculine he felt the way his latissimus dorsi and trapezius both tensed and relaxed when he stepped on the idiot's back for exercising during meeting.
Jouno had to admit, even though just to himself, it was very impressive. That being said, Tecchou's face is a completely unexplored territory, it wouldn't hurt to investigate his features a little bit more... right? After all, what Tecchou doesn't know won't hurt him. Not that the idiot would mind either way, Jouno just didn't want to face the humiliation of admitting to wanting to touch the other.
That sounded wrong even in his own mind.
Shaking his head he concentrates on the others features again. His cheeks aren't nearly as round and full as Jouno expected- quite the opposite actually. He presses down a little, feeling the other's upper jaw and following it to his mouth. He traces its shape with his thumb, feeling the thin but soft lips and the small puffs of warm air escaping them.
He moves down to Tecchou's chin- he catches it between his thumb and pointer finger. For a moment he wishes Tecchou would be awake, imagines him struggling against the grip, or his breath picking up with anxiety. His grip unconsciously tightens but he releases it soon after, leaving that trail of thoughts. He can torture someone other than his colleagues, no matter how tempted he is to use it on Tecchou.
Next, he ghosts over the other's eyes, fingers catching on the long lashes. Moving a little lower, he feels some bulges on the skin, there seem to be three and given the tear shape they're likely intentional marks. How they were made he doesn't know and it's not like he can ask a sleeping person.
He runs over the marks again and hears Tecchou's breathing speed up- not only that but so does his heart. The man still remains motionless though, as if not realizing he's been caught. Jouno moves his hand across the others cheeks, feeling them warm up, down to the corner of Tecchou's mouth, that twitches in attempt to remain still.
Having confirmed his theory, Jouno pulls his hand back.
"You can stop pretending now, Tecchou-san." He tells the other with a frown. He hears the other's eyelashes flutter as he opens his eyes. He also feels them focus on him. When half a minute goes on with Tecchou staring at him the whole time he scowls. "Would you stop that!" He hisses. "I can feel you staring." He scolds, not that the other makes anything of it.
"You touched my face" Tecchou states, voice void of anything for Jouno to analyse. That was the most annoying thing about Tecchou, he could never find out just what exactly the other was thinking. "Yes, and?" He asks sharply, annoyed.
Tecchou doesn't answer this time, instead taking Jouno's hand and putting it back onto his face. Jouno quirks an eyebrow. "What's this supposed to mean Tecchou-san?" He questions, again not receiving any response. He does feel the other's cheek burning under his hand; is Tecchou blushing? The increased heart rate would support that assumption. He scoffs again. "Really Tecchou-san? You suck at romancing, you know. I mean at least try to make it more obvious. Or at least romantic!" He rants, not noticing Tecchou's other hand sneaking towards his face, until he's touching it and gently tugging him into a kiss.
It's not much, just a quick little peck but it leaves Jouno all red none the less.
As he pulls back, he glares at Tecchou. "That's your response!? You think that was romantic! No artistry, I swear" he sighs, putting his hand onto the back of the others head, pulling him into a proper kiss. Tecchou is amazing, pliant but responsive, letting Jouno lead but reciprocating the kiss.
When they pull back again, Jouno is smirking. He doesn't question what this means, or what it makes them. It would be impossible to get meaningful response from Tecchou anyway.
He didn't need any tho, they were them and that's all that matters.
