Summary
It’s been a while since Daniel has handled any of the new pets. It’s not his favorite assignment, although he’s good at it, so he usually doesn’t have to step in. But when the boss calls him in specifically and hands him a file, he knows he doesn’t have a lot of wiggle room to refuse.
Looking down at the name and picture, he raises an eyebrow and looks back up to meet his boss’ eyes.
“Soldier Boy? You caught him?”
She nods, grinning across the desk at him.
“I promised I wouldn’t call you in for pet training unless it was a really big fish. So what do you think. This a big enough fish for you?” she purrs.
He feels the grin slowly spread across his own face.
“I think it just might be,” he murmurs in response.
