Chapter Text

I originally wrote these self insert/episode insert stories in 2022. The idea of editing them and turning them into x reader always swirled in my mind. I finally gave in. I'm trying not to be hard on myself or be too self-critical, so I'm going to consider this a couple of past workshopped oneshots.

Anyways, here are some other details about this:

- I'm not taking any requests.

- There are no Nina x Reader chapters. However, you and Nina are best friends.

- Yes, I know there aren’t any chapters that say ‘Scott x Reader’ or ‘Smitty x Reader’, but they’re still there. Mainly some moments here and there in the Movers x Reader chapters.

- Sudden breaks in between like this "-" means I skipped ahead further into the episode.

- Some chapters are shorter than others. Like real short. Can vary from an entire oneshot to only a few sentences.

- Even though there's quite a few episode gaps, these are just the chapters I wrote episode-inserts for. I might add more if I rewatch skim through the show again.

- I don't know if I'll consider these oneshot canon to whatever story I attempted to piece together, so interpret this however you want.

Chapter Text

Rich extends his hand toward you. You look at him, then at his hand. You're a bit hesitant at first, but eventually hold it. In fact, you hold both of his hands. He guides you around the Think Tank, spinning you around. The two of you can't stop smiling or look away from each other. Rich lets go of one hand and pulls you to the side. You almost fall, but Rich catches you in time. You look at him again and give a silly smile. He silently laughs at your expression. A light shade of pink flashes across his face.

Later on, You follow him to the other side of the room. He holds up a finger, telling you to wait. He then pulls out a flower bouquet. You admire the beautiful floral display and hold it. You mouth 'thank you' to him. He smiles and playfully shrugs.

Chapter Text

You were about to walk out the Idea Warehouse along with Nina calling it a night.

"Wait, Y/N?" Rich calls from behind.

"I'll meet you outside," you tell Nina. She nods and exits.

He walks up to you handing you a present. "This is from all of us. We noticed how you always have your hands in your pockets," Rich starts.

"And how it can be difficult to do things without your hands," Scott holds his up and waves them.

"So, we all came up with this idea," Dave adds.

"To make you feel more comfortable," Smitty finishes.

"Merry Christmas, Y/N!" The Movers exclaim.

You slowly remove your hands from your jacket pockets, twitching your fingers while reaching for the present, and accidentally touching Rich's hands. You open the gift and find a pair of blue gloves with the Movers' signature red and yellow gear symbol on the back. You gasp and take them out the box.

"You guys..." you sniffs, slightly tearing up.

"Oh no. You don't like it?" Scott asks worriedly.

"No, it's not that. It's...amazing," you faintly smile. "I-I love it!" The Movers cheer.

"Here, I'll help you put them on," Rich gently holds each hand.

You look down at your hands, bringing your hands close to your chest. "Thank you," you mumble with a smile, but then it fades. "Oh dear," you hold the side of your head.

"What's wrong?" Smitty asks.

"I completely forgot all your gifts at home. Aw man, aw man, aw man," you start to panic a little. "Now it seems like I'm completely selfish. I knew I should've left sooner," you bury your face in your hands.

"You're not being selfish at all," Dave tries to calm you down.

"Yeah, we all forget things. In fact, I think I left my burro bank in the Scale Room..." Scott pats his pockets. The others laugh for a brief moment.

"Besides, you coming here and helping us solve our idea emergency is perfect enough," Rich pats your shoulder.

"Yeah, but I always do that. This time, I wanted this day to be special," you lift your head up slightly before looking back down with a frown.

"Well, I think you might make one of our days special," Smitty points above you and Rich.

Dave and Scott look up and drop their mouths once they realize. Confused, you and Rich look up and see Warehouse Mouse holding mistletoe over your heads. He mischievously laughs. The two of you turn as red as the red color on the Movers' uniforms. Without much thinking, Rich wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you closer. You put your gloved hands on his face. You and Rich finally lean in for a kiss. Dave and Scott awe and Smitty winks at the mouse.

A camera flash goes off behind them. You two pull back and turn your heads at the door to see Nina taking a photo of you two. "Consider this my present to you, Y/N," Nina grins, pulling out the photo, and showing it off.

You're too speechless and embarrassed to say anything. Rich rests his chin on your shoulder, still hugging your waist. He reaches for the photo and observes it. The rest of the Movers gather around to see.

"Not bad," Dave compliments.

You move away from Rich's grip and take the photo, speed walking out the hallway while taking Nina's hand.

"Bye again, guys!" She beams.

"Bye, Nina! Bye, Y/N!"

"I'd say this was a good day, wouldn't you agree?" Nina asks innocently. You continue to drag Nina out the door. You can't think of a comeback. "Glad we're on the same page–," she gets cut off by something cold hitting her back.

You throw another snowball at her.

"Oh, it's on!" Nina declares.

You and Nina have a snowball fight for a while until Knit Knots arrives. Not knowing he was there, you accidentally hit him with a snowball. He flinches and sighs.

"Sorry, Mr. Knit Knots!" you apologize.

"Sorry, Uncle Knit Knots," Nina winces.

"Snow and its coldness. Its ability to form different shapes, it's much too exciting," he sighs. "Anyways, let's get going before we get stuck in the storm and have to bear the cold even longer," Knit Knots dusts himself off and gets in his beige car. You and Nina sit in the back seat talking about your plans for the holidays. Once Knit Knots drops you back at your place, you hug Nina and wish her a happy holiday. She beams and says the same. You wish Knit Knots a happy holiday, too. He still seems a bit bitter about the snowball, but he'll brush it off eventually.

You go to your room and take out the photo Nina took of you and Rich kissing under the mistletoe. It's certainly...a memory you'll never forget. No matter how candid it was. You're pretty glad she took it in the first place. You admire the photo some more. The amount of passion he put into the kiss felt phenomenal. You could only wonder what it would be like to kiss him again someday. But for now, you lift your fingers up to the lingering feeling on your lips and gush over him. You squeeze a pillow close to your chest and squeal into it. This is the best holiday ever!

Chapter Text

Rich twirls you around. Then to your surprise, he lifts you up by the waist and then poses at the end.

You and Scott dance together. You're farther in the front and dances by each other's side.

You and Dave clap and spin around.

You dance with the rest of the Movers three times.

You and Rich look at each other while singing. You turn to Nina, who can't stop smiling at you two.

You and Smitty do the Sprinkler.

Chapter Text

You, Scott, Nina, and Rich see the wax remover.

"Score!" Scott skates into the room and lines up his hockey stick with the box.

Rich holds onto your waist and Nina holds your hand so you all can balance.

"Snapshot!" Scott yells and hits the box.

Nina lets go of your hand and holds onto the wall, letting Rich lift you up to catch the box. You successfully do and the four of you cheer, gliding back to the Think Tank.

Chapter Text

At the end of the song, Rich twirls you from your old clothes into a beautiful white gown.

"Wow!" Rich looks at you in awe. "You look amazing!"

You look back at him and at your new outfit in awe as well.

"Come," Rich extends his arm. You loop yours around it and walk towards the others who moved a throne for you to sit on.

You feel as if he's your prince already. You smile at the mere thought.

Chapter Text

Dave opens the door to the Spring Room. You and Nina admire the tranquility and warmth the room provided. A tulip pops out towards Dave.

"Here you go," He gives it to you. You gratefully accept it.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome," he says as he closes the door.

Nina giggles from behind. You turn back and give her a friendly, but menacing smile and glare she's all too familiar with. Dave continues to lead you two around the next corner, oblivious to the interaction.

"This is the Summer Room," he opens the door. The three of you are greeted with sunny, warm weather.

"It has the best lemonade," Dave smiles. Soon enough, a glass of refreshing lemonade is in his hands.

He gives it to you and you take a sip. "Mmm," you smack your lips.

"See?" Dave takes the drink back and closes the door to continue the tour.

Nina nudges you. You silently scoff and shake your head.

"And this is the Fall Room!" He points to the sign and opens the door. It's very windy. Leaves fly in your face, blowing your hair back, too. "It's kinda breezy in there. Whew!" You and Nina nod in agreement and Dave closes the door.

"And this–" He opens the door.

"That must be the Winter Room!" Nina comments.

"The sign doesn't look like it has anything to do with winter, though?" You say, confused.

"Actually...that's a way out." your faces fall. "Or it was. It's blocked by snow just like the front door."

"Oh, no. We're stuck in here," Nina frowns.

"Nah. There's still more ways out. We're not stuck yet. Come on," Dave reassures you two, putting a smile back on your faces.

Yours is more cheerful than Nina's. Almost in a swoon-y way, which makes Nina smile even more from behind as you and Dave walk side by side. Though, the two of you are smiling for much different reasons. You, smiling at Dave's positivity. Nina, smiling at yours and Dave's potential blossoming relationship.

"And here's another way out!" Dave opens the door. "Snow."

The three of you practically run excitedly to the next exit.

"And...! Snow."

"Now what?" Nina asks.

"Now...we're stuck."

The three of you make your way back to the Think Tank. You and Nina walk next to each other while Dave leads the way.

"So, do you think he likes you back?" Nina whispers.

Your face heats up. "Don't be silly. He's busy with his inventions and his job."

"That doesn't sound like a 'no' to me," Nina smugly grins.

"Yeah? Well, it's not a 'yes' either," you huff.

"Ah, but you didn't say 'yes' until now," you silently giggle.

"Rhetorical answer."

"Is that still a 'yes?'"

You mumble under your breath. "I guess staying in the warehouse a little longer wouldn't be too bad."

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

"Sounded like something to me."

"It's nothing to me and now it's nothing to you."

"You're too uptight about this." Nina crosses her arms.

"Being uptight is good."

"Yeah, if you're my uncle Knit Knots."

"You take that back!"

"I'm just saying."

"Are you two alright?" Dave turns back at you two.

You accidentally bump into Dave and then nervously back away, trying to come up with something to say. So instead, you rapidly nod your head and goofily grin. Nina is trying, yet failing to contain her laughter. Dave shrugs it off and continues leading the way back to the Think Tank. In his mind, he thought your sudden nervous response was absolutely adorable and amusing. If this was the little push the two of you needed to get closer to one another, it was definitely a step in the right direction.

Chapter Text

You extend your arms to show the Movers how big and how much of a problem you have, but you accidentally knock over a watering can and lose your balance from walking down the steps. Luckily, Smitty caught you and the watering can in time.

A blush appears on your face. Smitty was very...dashing to say the least, but you had to stay focused! You couldn't allow yourself to get distracted by these four tall, handsome, good-looking, attractive...considerate...cute...men...

This was going to be a long day.

The Movers help you sit on a nearby stool as you explain your problem. You talk about how sweet the kids are when you accidentally wake them up due to your clumsiness.

"Even if the kid is nice and cool as a cucumber," without much thinking, you lean forward to Rich and stare at him, gently holding his hand.

You don't know why you did that. Maybe because he's the closest? But then again, he looked really, really, really, really...really...attractive...

The Movers declare this an, "idea emergency!"

You get startled and fall out of your seat, only to be caught by Dave in the nick of time, holding you up by your arm as the Mover helps you get back on your feet.

You feel like you're Cupid, but you're not Cupid. Completely different fairy. There's no time for love, right? You need to focus on your job.

After their brainstorm is over, they start thinking of ideas. Smitty sits next to you and tells you his idea. You divide your full attention to him. You two are pretty close to one another. Maybe it's because you're a good listener...or his eyes look very dreamy, even behind those adorable-looking glasses. He suggests setting up the Think Tank as a bedroom to simulate how you do your job, breaking you out of your daze.

"Wait a minute—you guys can actually do that?!" You ask, sounding astonished.

"Oh, yeah," Scott says in a smooth, deep voice while nodding.

Well, it's official; you think all four of these guys are hot.

Rich keeps looking back and forth at you as he says he needs something small and white to mimic a tooth. Everyone gives outlandish suggestions, but then Rich takes out a, "mint?"

"No, thanks. I'm good," you and Scott gasp as you two say it simultaneously. "Jinx!"

Rich guides and instructs you on what to do. You're attentively listening to his attractiveness—I mean, his advice.

"Now, Y/N?"

"Yes?"

"Here's what I want you to do."

"Okay."

"I want you to go out that door and come right back in and get that tooth."

"Okay," you turn to smile at him. He looks really determined and has full confidence in you.

"You can do this," he puts his hands out.

You excitedly lean towards him again. "Alright!"

"I believe in you!"

"Wish me luck!" You're grinning and secretly squealing in your mind so much. That was probably the longest you've been close to one of the guys so far. What's not to like about Rich? He's kind, smart, passionate, determined, caring, considerate...cute...dreamy...everything else in between. You were sinking into your own thoughts, but shook your head to snap out of it and motivate yourself on what needed to be done, and that's successfully getting through this simulation!

Smitty suggests putting a light on your head to help you see in the dark.

"Yeah!" Scott agrees before getting confused. "Huh?" You two shrug.

"Check it out," Smitty takes out his journal.

You gather near the trio. You try to hide your blushing due to being close to the Movers once again.

Dave builds you an improved sparkly headlight. You put it on and smile at him.

"Aw, Davey, it's perfect!" You grin widely. You don't know why you called him 'Davey' all of a sudden. It just felt right.

(Regular!Reader)

You and Nina enter the Warehouse. The Movers greet the two as usual. You hold a pair of roller skates and give them to Dave.

"Thanks for letting me borrow your lawn mower roller skates, Dave. They even work as ice skates, too," you happily say.

"Cool. You need to borrow the rocket-powered ones. Whoo!"

"Wow," you smile. So nerdy yet so cute!

Dave leans towards your ear and introduces you and Nina to the new tooth fairy.

(Tooth Fairy!Y/N)

Rich puts his hand behind your back and guides your back to the door for another trial run. You place your hands on his cheeks as if you were about to pull him in for a kiss. The only things running through your mind was Rich's good looks and acing this test.

"All right? Come on, now," his words of encouragement practically made your heart soar to the moon.

You accidentally slip on marbles and fall on Scott's legs. At least Dave congratulated you on making it down the stairs.

"At least I could see everything. The light worked perfectly, Davey," you love calling him that already, now wondering if he realizes you're subtly flirting with him. You can only hope.

Speaking of hope, in hopes of making you feel better, Rich admits that he used to be clumsy himself.

"What?! No way. Really?" You couldn't believe it.

The others agree with him. "But I worked really hard and I became much more graceful. I want you to watch," he steps aside where there's enough space for him.

Now, you have a reasonable excuse to stare at him, admiring all his features. His soft eyes, his glistening smile, his luxurious hair.

"Okay, I think you're gonna like this," he prepares.

"I already do," you think to yourself and lightly blush before anything even happens.

He performs Tai Chi. He looks at you with a piercing gaze. You felt your heart skip a beat.

You briefly turn to Scott. "Neat," you say.

"Yeah," he nods and agrees.

After he and Warehouse Mouse finish a few Tai Chi (and Tai Cheese) moves, Rich walks back over to you and offers to show you some moves. "We can show you, too."

You quickly stand up from the bed. "Okay!"

"It's the way of the Mover," he bows his head.

You bow along with him, but accidentally knock your head into his.

"Ow! Sorry!"

He takes a step back before laughing lightly and stepping back in front of you. "It's okay, it's okay," he reassures. "Listen, we're gonna have you moving gracefully in no time in..."

"The Room of Perpetual Balance," the other Movers chime in.

"Now, Y/N, try this," Rich performs a move.

You copy him, but fall over. Rich tries catching you, but he falls down, too. The Movers and Nina help you up while the Movers dust off your clothing and wings.

You balance a giant plastic egg on a spoon, but drop it. Scott replaces it with a new egg just in time. You drop that one and he replaces it again. Dave watches out for you the whole time.

Rich gestures to you to walk on a low balance beam. You try, but wouldn't you know it, you nearly fall off, but Rich catches you in his arms. He's always there for you! Rich looks at you with a hopeful expression. Being around him was all the confidence you needed.

You balance the egg on the spoon again. Scott continues to nervously follow behind you, ready to replace the egg at any given moment.

You almost drop the egg again, but catch it in time. You look back and smile at him. He smiles and points at the egg standing up, like an alternate way of giving you a thumbs up.

Rich does another move. You copy him again, but hit him in the face with your wings again.

Nina, Dave, and Scott watch you as you balance on the beam once more. You successfully made it. You smile and immediately turn to Rich. You hold his hands and jump up and down with him, celebrating your accomplishment.

"I did it! I did it! I did it!" You cheer.

"Yeah!! I mean..." he cheers along with you before clearing his throat, acting as a 'serious' mentor again.

"I mean, you are ready, winged one," he bows.

You bow alongside him, accidentally grazing his hair with your wings, but this time, he doesn't mind. Suddenly, a loud gong sound plays. You jump and nervously cling onto Rich's sleeve as everyone else is also surprised. Warehouse Mouse falls down from where he was. Turns out it was Scott's doing.

"Did you guys know we had two gongs in here?"

"We do now. Wow!" Dave says.

Warehouse Mouse props himself back on the table. "I'm okay."

You look at Scott's silly smile and chuckle.

"Ahem?" Rich clears his throat again, getting your attention.

You look at him, then back at his arm. You let go and scratch the back of your head, moving your head away so you allow yourself to blush a lot. You truly thought you saw Rich blush as well. You couldn't be seeing things, right? What you didn't know was that when you turned your back, he was blushing even more than before.

The group returned to the Think Tank to put your training to use.

"Remember, Y/N, nice and smooth," he sways his hands and body along to his words.

Even with the dim lights, you can still see him blushing. You place one hand over his higher hand and the other below his other hand. "You'll be impressed like an impala," you smile.

Rich chuckles and swiftly stands by the others. He and the others wait as you prepare. You begin.

"Y/N descends into the dark.".

"Like a gazelle," Rich adds. That's exactly what you were thinking!

"Bending like a reed in the wind," Smitty chimes in.

"Yeah, Y/N!" Scott sits up and cheers you on. "Oops! I mean..." he lays back down and snores.

"Well done, tooth-taker. You made it to the bed," Rich talks like a mentor again.

"Thanks, Richie," now he gets a cutesy nickname, too.

You try finding a coin and finally did, but even more scattered out, dropping all over Scott.

"I'm up. I'm up," Scott sits up again, not sounding as eager as he was before.

You frown and turn to Rich, not realizing he's approaching you all of a sudden. "Okay. We got a new problem, Y/N."

The others explain the issue and take off their lab coats. You only turn slightly towards them and still manage to graze Rich in the face with your wings.

"Oh..." you turn to face Rich again. He leans back to avoid your wings again. "Can you believe there's only one pocket on this outfit? Who does something like that?! I should call the Fashion Fairy Police for this matter," you rant.

Dave suggests wearing a waist pack and even offers to give you his after he adds a finishing touch to make it sparkle. It's, well, sparkles.

You wear the pack and take out a coin with ease. "Cha-ching!" The others cheer and Nina gives you a round of applause.

Rich walks back next to you. He seems like he can't get enough of you, not that you're complaining about it. "Well, Y/N, you're ready. I mean, you got your fairy light," he starts listing.

"Mhm."

"You got a fairy pack."

"Yep."

"You even got your cool fairy moves," he does another move.

"I learned from the best," you mimic him perfectly and smile at him.

He looks down and smiles back. "I think you're gonna get it this time!" He confidently motivates you.

You continue smiling, but think for a moment.

"I think so, too, but, usually when I go out and do my job for real, those kids are actually asleep, and I really wish I could practice on someone who's realistically sleeping, you know? Just to make sure," you say, turning back to him.

Dave says they can put Scott to sleep for real.

"By singing a lullaby!" Rich jumps up and leaves for a moment to get something.

Scott stands up and loudly 'whispers' to you. "They think this song always puts me to sleep. Little do they know..." next thing you know, he already changed into his pajamas. "It's not gonna work, guys. Not gonna work," he said in confidence and steps near you again. You can feel your face heating up again. All four Movers are so cute and helpful in their own ways!

Rich begins playing the guitar. You focus on your surroundings intently, mainly on Rich. As if you weren't already drawn to him, this seals the deal. He leans toward you quite frequently in between the song. You're allowing yourself to express your blushing feelings more. It's not like you had much of a choice in the beginning. Every time you even slightly interacted with the guys, you were always blushing to some extent. Whether it was your cheeks being lightly dusted pink or your face turning full-on red, you couldn't help your growing emotions and affection towards the guys. They've done so much for you already. Besides, you're a very expressive fairy. Hiding emotions is not one of your strong suits.

You quickly lean on Rich's shoulder, pretending to be asleep as the song nearly ends. He blushes just like you and smiles.

(Normal Y/N)

"That sparkly fairy light was a bright idea. Dave," you joke.

He chuckles. "Thanks, Y/N. It was rather enlightening, wasn't it?"

You two chuckle together.

(Tooth Fairy Y/N)

Rich and Smitty positively comment on your moves.

"During Y/N's spare time, Y/N enjoys Y/H," Smitty informs.

(Normal Y/N)

"I did not know that," you comment. Dave and Smitty glance at you and nod.

"Y/N takes out the coin," Dave glances at you again. "No dropping."

-

The group jumps up as Scott sleep talks. Dave glances at you once more. "Very close," he leans closer to you. You lean in, too, making both of your arms touch one another.

"See, you can't make me fall asleep. Did I miss something?" Scott finally wakes up.

You eagerly run up to him and tell him you got the tooth and didn't wake him up before returning to the victory dance circle.

(Tooth Fairy Y/N)

Scott admires the coin and joins the group. "I got a quarter! Great job, Y/N!" He cheers.

"Thank you, Scotty. Thank you all," another cutesy nickname for the record books.

Rich declared this another idea emergency solved. As usual, Dave misses the high five. You're preoccupied managing your waist pack and aimlessly waves your hand in the air.

"I should get going now. I have a big night ahead of me. Those teeth aren't going to collect themselves."

"You do," Dave softly agrees.

"I'm just gonna get my fairy dust, fairy dust, fairy dust, where is my fairy dust?" You rummage through your waist pack. "Ah! Here it is! I put it in my fairy dust pocket in my new fairy pack," you feel proud of yourself for being organized for the first time in a while.

"Bye, everyone. Thanks again. I couldn't have done this without your help," you stand in an open space to prepare your departure.

"All right," Smitty nods.

"Bye, Y/N!" Everyone says.

"One more thing before I leave in case we don't see each other for a very long time..." you take a deep breath. "Movers, I have a crush on all four of you!" You blurt while blushing intensely with your eyes closed, quickly throwing the fairy dust in the air. Nothing happens. You peek one eye open and realize you're still in the warehouse. You can slightly see Nina's shocked expression and the Movers' flustered ones. They're all blushing.

"O-Oh! Oh dear, uhm. I don't think I used enough fairy dust," you nervously laugh and gather more. You take another deep breath and confidently look at the group this time, blushing and all. "And I meant it! I really like you four! You're cute and hot and kind! I love everything about you! And Rich, you're the cutest!" You throw more fairy dust in the air and on yourself, successfully teleporting yourself to your next destination.

The group is left there shocked while the Movers are additionally nervous, bashful, and oddly flattered?

Nina tries holding in her laughter. The more the Movers think about it, the more they realize they've unknowingly fallen for you.

"Are we sure Y/N's not Cupid?" Scott asks, still in amazement. The other guys rapidly nod their heads, except for Scott who shakes his.

This idea emergency didn't create just another idea emergency. If anything, it opened their eyes and hearts into something more. Love. Love for you.

Chapter Text

You and Rich are dressed in Irish clothing. You two dance together.

Some time later when the group returns to the Think Tank and starts to think of more ideas to solve the problem.

"That's a lot like putting. And you didn't need your hat to do that." Rich gets close to your head whenever you speak.

You feel flustered whenever he does, but you can't help but smile at the positive attention he gives you.

Chapter Text

You, Rich, and Nina turn a corner. You stop Rich and Nina and shake Rich's shoulder. You turn off the light switch and smile at him. He smiles back. Nina smiles at both of you smiling at each other and continues the search.

You, Dave, and Nina carry solar panels to the Sun Room. Nina asks Dave how solar panels work. Dave, as his usual nerdy self, explains. You're always fascinated by his words. He smiles at you when he finishes to your surprise. You smile back at him, allowing Nina the perfect opportunity to smirk at the cause of your interaction without earning yet another glare from you.

Dave reaches for the door handle, but Nina stops him and tells him that they all need sunscreen on just in case. Nina puts some on her face. Dave puts some in his hands and offers to spread it on your face. You're flustered by the question, but happily and shyly accept.

His soft hands moving across your soft face, making sure he doesn't even give you the slightest scratch on your face, the two of you feel really happy and safe around one another.

Once he's done, you thank him while covering your cheeks with one hand. He smiles and puts the sunscreen all over his face.

"There. So, uh, did I miss a spot?" Dave points to multiple areas of his face.

You giggle and shake your head.

"Let's go then!" He opens the door.

The extremely satirical part:

You, Nina, and Rich have your nets in your hands. The sneaky butterfly is right in front of you three. You all wave your nets to catch it, but it flies away. Rich looks at a slightly disappointed you. He shrugs and gives you a faint, reassuring smile. You return the gesture by kissing him on the lips, surprising Nina who gasps, gaining the attention of everyone else in the room. You're embarrassed once you pull away. Rich, however, wanted the moment to last longer, so he gently pulled you into another kiss again.

The actual part:

You, Nina, and Rich have your nets in your hands. The sneaky butterfly is right in front of you three. You all wave your nets to catch it, but it flies away. You sit in front of your F/C harp that Dave and Rich helpfully brought inside. You close your eyes and begin to play, but you start to laugh for no apparent reason. Scott and Smitty look back at each other and laugh a little while Rich and Dave can't help but smile at you. Although, Rich seems to be more focused than the others. He admires the melody, your peaceful expression, your delicate fingers strumming the even more delicate strings

The reenactment of your harp lesson starts. As soon as Rich walked out wearing that ridiculously cute yet nerdy outfit, you immediately wanted to laugh just at the sight of him, but you held it in. It was too early. Smitty and Warehouse Mouse cheer when Dave introduces Scott, who is still behind the curtain, but waves at the audience. Dave moves in for a high-five, but misses like usual. He sits down and cheers with the two. You clap for him, too, but Rich shushes them all.

"Hot," you think to yourself.

"We require silence for our lesson."

"So hot."

He walks over to you. "Y/N, are you ready to rehearse?"

Even with that dorky outfit, that stern tone of his couldn't get any sexier.

"Y-yes, sir," you utter.

Could you have thought of a better word choice? Yes. Did you regret it afterwards? Pretty much. Did you mean it? Scenario-wise, yes. But in reality, also yes. Did this make Rich slightly blush? You bet. He loves receiving words of encouragement, especially, if not, mainly by you.

"Once we begin playing our piece, you must not stop no matter what happens."

Rich may enjoy you praising him, but you also like it when he tells you what to do occasionally. Even if this was all fake, you had to get your mind together or else this idea emergency would never be solved.

"O-okay," you nod.

"Two, three, four," he waves his baton and you start to play.

You look up at Rich, who is completely swayed to the music. Scott finally appears in his fly costume. Hijinks ensue. Let's just say that you were laughing so much, everything you were thinking about seemed to fade away.

Once everyone but you got their giggles and Scott pretending to be a fly by mimicking the insect with his hands, a bit close to your face, but you doesn't mind. You believe you're ready.

"Now, let's see if you can play that harp without giggling," Rich suggests.

You take a deep breath and exhale. "Okay."

"Yeah," Scott cheers in a whisper.

"You can do this," Rich motivates.

You sit on the stool, focusing on your hands and the strings while softly smiling. This time, you replayed the words Rich just said.

"You can do this."

"I can do this!" You cheer on yourself.

You play the harp flawlessly. The Movers admire your elegance again. Rich, again, focusing the most. He can never look away from you. Once you finish, Rich is the first one on his feet giving you a standing ovation, followed by the rest of the group.

You stand up and take a bow. After an exchange of words, you check your watch and realize the recital is about to start. You walk over to the harp to carry it.

"Here, let me help you with that," Smitty offers to help.

"Ah, thank you," you smile.

"Smitty, allow me," Rich steps up and carries the harp.

"Thank you, Rich," Smitty says as he walks away.

"Sure."

"I'll help you out there, Rich," Scott takes the harp.

"Great," Rich walks away.

"Let me give you a hand," Dave takes the harp.

"Oh, sure, Dave."

Dave hands the harp to someone else, but realizes there's no one after him.

"Hey, do you guys want to come to the recital? I'd really love it if you did," you ask.

"Yeah!" The four cheer.

"Here you go," Dave gives the harp back to you.

"Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. See ya tonight!" You walk out the door.

"Good luck, Y/N!"

"Be safe!"

Dave closes the door. As you continue walking, you make a startling realization that you may like all four Movers. Little did you know, the Movers felt the same way towards you.

How are the five of them going to solve this long-term idea love emergency?

You and Nina arrive at the warehouse. The Movers say their greetings. Smitty gets an idea.

"Y/N, Nina, would one of you take a picture of me?" He asked you two.

"I can if you want," you offer. "Nina, can I see your camera?"

"Sure," she gives it to you.

"Thank you."

The other Movers are confused.

"Where's he going with this?" Rich mutters.

"Say cheese," you say as you press the button.

"CHEESE?!" Warehouse Mouse moves the circle behind the gear.

"Cheese," Smitty repeats.

You look at the photo. "Perfect."

"Where's the cheese?" Warehouse Mouse asks.

"Here you go," you hand the picture to Smitty.

"Cheese?" Warehouse Mouse still wants cheese.

"Great. Thanks." Smitty says.

"Anytime!"

Smitty trades Warehouse Mouse's old photo for the one recently taken. He happily accepts and gives the puzzle piece back. Everything seemed fine, but little did you know that Rich, Scott, and Dave were a bit envious of Smitty, who was discreetly smirking at the trio.

Was this secret rivalry ever going to be solved?

As Stanley Spillberger explains his next big idea, everyone gathers around him. You put your arm around Dave's shoulder and the other above his chest. Smitty gets closer to you, putting his hand on your arm as all of you look up, as if they can see the movie right in front of their eyes.

At the end of the Movers' brainstorming, you and Dave look at each other. Rich looks perplexed before and while he looks at you two.

-

Rich sits next to you in the Movie Room while eating popcorn. You get his attention and talk about the movie. He nods and smiles that you're happy and talks about the movie, too.

Scott and Smitty get a small glance at you two when they look at each other. They both feel a small rise in jealousy.

-

A scary scene shows up. You scream, slightly jumping out of your seat, and accidentally spills popcorn on yourself. Rich holds in his laughter.

-

Stanley describes who he needs as his star. You chime in and suggest Rich. The rest of the Movers agree. Rich is casually holding a golf club, confused.

As the director featured each of the Movers' qualities, you couldn't help but swoon over all of their attempts. While each of them had their time to shine, they were also trying to impress you in the process. Nina, of course, took notice of everyone's feelings, reactions, and movements from the very beginning.

Who will be the lucky Mover for you?

"There's no bigger and better thinkers than you guys!" You compliment the quartet as they briefly describe Bright Idea Day. They all act bashful and awe.

"Thank you," Rich says from the ladder.

"Aw, you," Dave waves off.

Scott and Smitty slightly turn away from you and rub the back of their necks.

Rich and Dave were grateful they weren't facing you. Otherwise, their reddened face would give away their feelings for you even further. Nina couldn't help but smile at everyone's interactions.

You and Nina jump in the air after everyone finished the base of the light bulb build. Rich raises his hand to high-five you. You high-fives him. He loves the feeling of your hand against his even if it's just for a few seconds.

The group cheered as Dave turns the light on. Rich looks at you and back to the light. He's smiling even more now.

-

You and Nina sit down at a table in front of the Warehouse as the Movers prepare for whatever possible festivities they think of for Mouse Day. Rich places his hand on your shoulder and looks down, smiling at you to make sure you're alright. You look at him and smile back.

As Rich explains the New Year's Eve version of Mouse Day, he keeps looking back at you as you begin talking. The moment you touched his hand in order to get the party blower, his heart skipped a beat at your gentle touch.

You and Nina enter the warehouse and say hello to the Movers except for Scott who wasn't there to yours and Nina's confusion. You noticed how Rich was leaning his hand against the frame. You thought he looked very cute and hot.

"Y/N? You'll need this," Dave passes you a R/H.

You hold it and admire its pretty, F/C coloring and smiles.

"Indubitably," you royally bow.

"Huh?" Scott is confused.

"That means 'yes'," Rich explains.

"Ahh, indubitably indeed," Scott laughs.

The Movers quickly change their outfits into something more royal. Nina can't help but think of all the possibilities of how this is all going to go down.

The Movers and Sir Fearsalot see the castle in the distance with you up there looking so regal. The knight is mainly focused on the location of the castle, but the Movers are focused on you and can't help but think of how fancy you look. Rich, especially. He doesn't remember the last time he saw you in a formal outfit. Actually, I don't think any one of your friends saw you in any formalwear. This was certainly a pleasant surprise for everyone.

"Hey, y'all," you enter the warehouse, startling the Movers accidentally.

Nina stands next to you. The Movers greet you two.

"Here's the exercise dvd you let me borrow, Rich," you give a dvd with a cover of a photo of some guy lifting weights.

"Ah, great. Hope it worked out for you," he laughs, earning a chuckle out of you.

The two of you have really started to get along the most. Don't get it wrong, you still liked the other Movers, but there was something about Rich you were drawn to the most. This still didn't end the secret rivalry, though. And it definitely didn't stop Nina from smiling to herself more than ever.

"We could have one in the Picnic Room," Rich suggests as he and the other Movers try to think of a solution for Goldilocks' problem.

"Perfect!" You agree.

Perhaps the two already had a past experience in that room?

"Thank you," Goldilocks said and signed in sign language.

"You're welcome," you said while Nina signed back.

Goldilocks exited the warehouse. Before she did, she said your name. Dave felt really happy just hearing the sound of your name.

After the Mover high-five which Dave missed out on, he throws purple and blue confetti he found in his pocket in the air. Most of it landing on you. You're confused at first, but smile and laugh a little soon after. The rest of the Movers are in awe and smile afterward.

Even though he didn't get the high-five, he still felt accomplished by making you laugh.

Chapter Text

After you and Nina offer to help the Movers cook their favorite breakfast meals, it's time for the montage to begin.

Rich starts his meal off by putting strawberries into the blender. Then, he tries fitting an entire melon. You notice this and take it out. Rich realizes his mistake and holds the bottom of the blender. Once the melon is out, you chop it open and cut the inside into cubes and put them in a bowl. You give it to Rich and put the bite-sized pieces into the blender. He's surprised and face palms himself. You smile at him to reassure him that it's okay to make mistakes. He starts to turn the machine on, but covers his face with his arm. You reach around him and put the lid on top. Rich is even more relieved now as you two high-five each other.

As the Movers compliment yours and Nina's cooking preparation skills and suggest that the two of you run the brand new Idea Café, everything seems great again.

"You know what this means?" You ask the group.

"A really great morning?" Scott says.

"Well, yeah, but this is-!"

"Another idea emergency solved!" The group joins in and does the Mover high-five, except for Dave.

What you didn't know was that Rich said something parallel earlier before you arrived. Rich noticed and thought you were perfectly in-sync with him. Even when you two are away from each other, you two always find a way to connect with one another.

"Y/N's gonna have a great birthday," Rich says to the imaginary audience.

"Well, I painted Y/N a portrait," he walks over to his canvas. "I call it the Y/N Lisa."

"Bold, expressive lines, yet understated use of light and shadow," Scott says.

"What?" Dave and Smitty ask in confusion at the same time.

"Pretty," he sums up.

They all love you.

Dave makes you, then Nina appear from the magic box.

-

You and Nina help out the Movers during the song as they try to help Al.

-

The Movers smile as you dance down the line.

-

Scott gives you a bouquet of fake, magic flowers.

-

Scott uses his last wish to wish you have a happy birthday. Al grants his wish and decorates the Think Tank with F/C decorations and balloons falling on the group.

"Happy birthday, Y/N!!" Everyone cheers.

"This is spectacular!" You pull Scott into a hug. He wraps his arms around you and hugs you right back.

He feels like a soft, cuddly teddy bear. He gives out the best hugs.

Rich, Dave, and Scott head over to the Idea Café where you and Nina were working. The two of you greet them and ask where's Smitty. They explain that he's busy while Rich and Scott sit on the stools in front of the counter. Rich asks you two if you'd like to play basketball with them.

"My coordination skills aren't the best. I mean, have you seen my aim?" You laugh to yourself. "Besides, Nina and I still have work to do. Sorry, guys."

Smitty sits next to you while you sit in between him and Nina as the three of you peel carrots.

He turns to you. "Hey, you ever seen a yellow-crested night heron?" He asks calmly.

"Can't say I have," you chuckled a little. You thought he sounded so cute and nerdy when talking about animals.

All of a sudden, Rich approaches the three holding a book in his hands and says hi to you all. Rich confronts Smitty about the book and he replies saying he has to help you and Nina peel the carrots. You and Nina exchange a glance and sigh.

Smitty walks over to a table. You, Rich, and Nina sit across from him and reassure that he doesn't have to be nervous that he isn't great at playing basketball. After a while, Smitty gains the confidence and wants to play.

The three beam. You and Rich look at each other while smiling, then slightly turn away blushing once you two make eye contact.

The Movers approach you and Nina. Scott asks the two of you if the café is ready. Dave smiles as soon as you two enter, rubbing his hands in excitement. His cute, excitable behavior always made you happy.

Dave excitedly runs over to the delivery box. You and Nina thank him.

You, Eddie, and Nina take the center of the Idea Café. You spin around for the grand finale, but spins too far. Luckily, the Movers caught you in time. To your embarrassment and relief, you blushes, apologizes, and thanks the nicely-dressed guys. The quartet admire your cool H/C.

The elf named Carol is trying to remember the names of Santa's reindeer. You, Rich, and Nina overhear her issue.

"Oh no, what's the next reindeer's name? Vicky? Vacuum?"

"Vixen!" Rich chimes in.

Carol overhears and smiles.

"On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen!" He walks over to the customer with you and Nina following behind.

"On Comet!" Nina joins in.

"On Cupid!" You add.

"On Donner!"

"And Blitzen!"

"To the top of the porch," Rich says.

"To the top of the wall," Nina cheers.

"Now dash away," you chime in.

"Dash away, dash away all," the three of you said in unison.

Carol claps for you all. Rich almost couldn't take his eyes off you the entire time. It was like holiday magic to him. Carol later on explains her problem. You, Rich, and Nina share a glance, but yours and Rich's glance lasts longer, though.

"I think Nina and I know some people who's able to help, right?" You nudge her.

"Y/N is right as a reindeer," Rich agrees.

Rich opens the door for you and Nina as the trio enter.

"Hey, guys," Nina greets.

"Hi, y'all," you enter.

-

Once the Movers are done with their brainstorm, You, Nina, and Carol gather near them. You stand next to Rich. For some reason, he looks back and forth at you. It makes you a bit flustered, but you don't mind.

Rich asks Carol if he can take a look at her elf manual. She gives it to him. He almost falls. You hold onto his arm just in case.

-

Carol tries to guess everyone's name. Since the Movers covered their name tags, you and Nina do the same, but remember you don't have name tags.

"I know you're Tina. And you're W/N. And you're Mitch," Rich puts his hand down and slowly turns to you. You're just as confused as he is as she continues trying to guess the rest of the Movers' names.

The Movers pull out their instruments to perform a song.

"Check, one, two, three," Rich says and smirks at the end while holding a microphone.

"Hot," you think to yourself.

Rich sits next to you and puts his hand on your shoulder while looking at you. You think he's dreamy and smiles widely at him.

Smitty, Scott, Rich, and Dave stand at your height and sing close to you, moving around really fast. You're starting to think all the Movers are dreamy.

(Normal Y/N)

It's Christmas Day. You sit next to Rich as you unwrap your present.

"D/P! Nice!"

Rich smiles and laughs.

Dave picks up his order of banana-apple muffins.

"I'll box these up for you," you say.

"Thanks, Y/N," he says with a light blush on his face.

Luckily, you're paying attention. "I added extra cinnamon this time. Just how you like it," you hesitated on the last part.

It would be a lie if you didn't also have a crush on the inventor Mover, while Dave felt the same way for what he called 'the best Idea Café cook ever'.

"Actually, these are for my Uncle Morrie. Banana-apple muffins are his favorite."

"Ah, I see. Can't wait to meet him soon. Right, Nina?" You call for her attention. Nina looks up from her sorting the salt and pepper shakers.

"Absolutely!" She smiles, but mainly at you two talking.

Nina was like your wingwoman that she was persistent on not wanting to be at first, but despite everyone's history with one another and from previous events, it was difficult for her not to jokingly tease you every now and then, especially whenever you denied your feelings for the Movers. That made her laugh and 'help' you out even more. But deep down, you secretly appreciated her help.

-

Dave's uncle finally arrives. They both hug each other. You smile at them, but are mostly happy that Dave is happy. He later introduces you and Nina to him. Dave is smiling the whole time. Not only because one of his family members is here, but because you're here for the moment. He explains how Uncle Morrie got him interested in inventing, and then Uncle Morrie explains a bit why he's here; mostly to see his 'little Davey'. That made you giggle to yourself.

The two guys say their goodbyes to you and Nina.

"Bye, Uncle Morrie," Nina waves.

'Bye, Davey," you smirked.

Dave playfully rolls his eyes at you and says goodbye.

Dave and Uncle Morrie enter the Idea Warehouse.

"So, uh, are you and the giggly one dating?" Uncle Morries nudges his shoulder, making him stop in his tracks and blush ferociously.

"N-No!"

"I beg to differ," he chuckles.

Perhaps the chemistry was a bit too noticeable.

Dave and Scott carry Rich who's in his kung fu outfit with Smitty in front of them to the Idea Café. They're all cheering. You and Nina wonder what's happening. Dave explains and Rich couldn't be happier. He's always been pretty competitive. Rich suggests the calls for celebratory smoothies. You immediately bring them out.

"Had a feeling you would say that. I just whipped these up as soon as you arrived," you brought out the tray.

"Thanks, Y/N," Rich takes his drink and smiles at you.

The other Movers say thanks and take a few sips. They put their drinks down and soon enough, they have smoothie mustaches. You and Nina laugh. Then, you admire the award.

"This is a very impressive trophy, Rich. 'Best Kee-yi'. What's that?" You ask.

"I'll show you," he walks to the other side and kicks really fast, making everyone move back. You grip onto the trophy.

"Oh, that," Nina shakily says.

He shrugs at you, who's still impressed and gives him a slightly nervous smile.

"Who's got an idea?" Rich asks while looking back and forth at you often.

"Do you two need any help?" Rich asks you and Nina who are tired and fumbling around.

Nina turns around with you following shortly after.

"No, no. I'm fine. I appreciate you asking, though," you assure.

You're not fine. Nina forgot to add marshmallows and you forgot to add whipped cream to the Movers' hot cocoa. You can't forget marshmallows and whipped cream in hot cocoa.

"Are you sure?" Scott asks.

You and Nina sigh and explain the issue. For you, you feel more tired than usual. Taking orders, running, and cooking for the café takes a lot of work. Dave speaks up and says he relates to how you feel and shows you some of his unfinished inventions hoping it'll make you feel better. You faintly smile, but overall, you just want a staycation. Rich approaches you and suggests that you and Nina should take a day off so you two won't get sick or feel even worse. Somehow, you still don't realize it, but you and Rich are standing pretty close to one another. You tiredly look in his eyes. Surprisingly, you don't feel nervous. Maybe it's because the tiredness doesn't let you feel anything other than sleepiness. You both want to take his advice, but Nina tells the Movers it's karaoke night. The two of you have been looking forward to that event all week.

You go into detail about how you've been practicing your singing and then perform a few vocal warmups that the others followed along to before you slowed down your talking to get to your next point, and did a demo of some dance moves before accidentally stumbling with Rich and Scott catching you just in time. Dave and Smitty walk up to you, too and tell you their idea; to let the Movers run the café for the day while you and Nina rest. Your eyes widen and look at Nina, who's also surprised.

"That's not a bad idea, actually! What do you think?"

Nina agrees and then rambles about the challenges of running the café, even if it's only for a day, but she eventually agrees on one condition; getting the marshmallows for the Movers. You make getting the whipped cream your one condition, too. Nina takes the cups and holds the door for you as you two go back to the café. You and Nina couldn't be happier having the most awesome best friends in the entire world. You, however, didn't just want to call the Movers you and Nina their 'best friends'. Nina is your best friend. You want to be something more with the Movers, but unfortunately, you can only pick one...it's a constant struggle for yourself because in your opinion, they're all really cute! How were you ever going to solve this personal, internal, long-term idea emergency?

You and Nina walk back inside the Idea Warehouse and overhears a bit of the Movers' plan. Nina gives the drink holder filled with marshmallows and you give them a bottle of whipped cream.

"Oh, great! But, where's the uh-?" Scott asked, but Dave nudged him before he could finish his question. "I mean, these are great."

You go back to being tired and Nina says she forgot the drinks. Rich says their day off starts now. He leads them to the couch, holding your hand in the process. Scott and Smitty prepare pillows and Scott gives you the TV remote. You pass it to Nina saying you'll probably fall asleep and then yawn. You also suggest the Movers call you if they have any questions. No reason in particular why it's mainly you. Just kidding, there's a few. You usually pick up the phone for takeout orders and reservations, but now, you're answering for a somewhat more personal usage.

You and Nina return to the Idea Café. The Movers are happy to see you two again. You and Nina are surprised to see the café in wonderful condition.

"You guys are the best!" You cheer.

They all get giggly and bashful.

"We are," Dave agrees.

-

Smitty walks over to you to say Mrs. Milligan's upside-down cake isn't finished yet. The timer dings. You and Nina offer to go and get it, but the Movers direct you two to a table to continue resting.

-

Rich accidentally slips on Mrs. Milligan's knitting. The upside-down cake gets passed on until Smitty eventually hands it to you. Rich takes it back.

"Thank you, Y/N," he sighs in relief and places the cake in front of Mrs. Milligan.

You thank the Movers again while placing a hand on Rich and Smitty's shoulder, a gesture both of them appreciate.

The way Rich spoke French, even if it was just a few words, made your heart soar. He kept looking back and forth at you as usual with some occasional glances from you, too.

You pick up the phone. It sounds like potential positive news on the other end. Rich gives a hopeful smile at you and looks at Scott.

You kneel down to comfort Cheri and find out that her nose feels cold. Rich kneels next to you and pets the goat. You love it when his softer side is revealed more often.

You sit next to Dave as the two of you watch in awe at the goat playing the piano.

"Boy, that mouse can play!" Rich exclaims, grabbing your attention as you smile at him.

Princess Y/N, or as you preferred, N/N, admired Rich's art skills and the way he used those Scribble Sticks of his.

"Woah, you're really good with those things," you compliment.

"Why, thank you," he looks down and smiles at you.

Maybe he can be your prince or once you catch a unicorn, your king?

You bump into Rich and put your hand on his back to prevent yourself from falling.

(Princess Y/N)

"Behold!" Rich opens the door for Y/N.

N/N thinks he's so regal.

(Normal Y/N)

Dee says that she can't dance very well and that she's more into sports. Rich says that you're an amazing dancer while gently shaking your shoulders and smiling. You're more than happy to help her.

The Movers, Y/N, and Nina huddle up. Rich puts his arm around Y/N at the start and the end.

(Princess Y/N)

"Come on, Princess N/N," Rich rings his arm around yours as the group walks to the Sleeping Dragon Room.

(Normal Y/N)

The group walks away from the Sleeping Dragon Room since Smitty and Scott successfully retrieved the golden lasso. You bump into Dave. He looks back at you and smiles, indicating and reassuring you that everything's fine now.

There wasn't much room when climbing the beanstalk. Every so often, Dave would accidentally bump or lay his head on your leg to which you didn't mind.

Dave and Scott pull your arms to help you reach the top. Scott holds onto your arm longer, probably because he's nervous and needs something, or in this case, someone to cling on to.

The Movers fall down as they try to move the giant teddy bear to the beanstalk. You help Rich and Scott back on their feet.

Smitty helps you step down back to the Idea Warehouse. He holds your hand as you make the final step.

You and Nina enter the Idea Warehouse. You hold up two tickets and tell the Movers about the ballet show you'll be attending soon and ask if one of them wants to come with you.

It was a tough decision for you to only bring one of them. You wish you had enough money to take all of them, but alas, only one will win.

The Movers knew this would probably be their one and only chance to be alone with you, away from the others, not having to deal with their internal competition. They proceed to talk over each other over who wants to go.

Rich stops them and walks next to you and says there's only one way to settle this.

"Rock."

"Paper."

"Scissors." Dave, Scott, and Smitty said in that order along with the gestures.

"Dynamite," Rich agrees with the most handsome look you've ever seen on him.

You wanted to specifically ask him right on the spot, but you didn't want to make it unfair for the others. So, you kept quiet and let the game continue.

The order of who's in what place goes like this:

4th - Dave

3rd - Scott

But all of a sudden, the game is interrupted by the same ballet dancers you and the mystery Mover were going to see enter the Idea Warehouse. Rich accidentally stumbles over one of their shoes. You and Scott help him up.

In the end, you, all the Movers, Nina, and Warehouse Mouse get to attend the show together thanks to the invite of the dancers.  Turns out there was no need for a competition after all.

Or was there?

Chapter Text

Rich grabs a lasso from the chest and gives it to Smitty to help the sheriff land back on the ground.

"Great idea, Rich!" You cheer and tap his arm as he makes his way back to the others, standing next to you. He loves even the slightest touch and praise from you.

You loop your arm around Dave's and try to help Smitty pull the sheriff back down.

Everyone cheers that Sheriff Buck makes it across the other side. You look back at Rich who also couldn't be happier. You all continue until you realize Smitty's pants fall down from him jumping so much. You flinch and look away. Before you could do it yourself, Scott covers your eyes for you from behind.

Chapter Text

You and Nina enter the Warehouse. You two stop in your tracks noticing every decoration has a photo of you on it.

"Surprise!" The Movers jump from behind the cart in the kitchen to greet you.

"Wow, you guys. Oddly enough, this looks awesome!" You smile.

You continue to get sentimental about your home. Rich distracts you and Nina by pointing out the boots with your face on it for a Mover huddle.

"Ooh, F/C," you put them on.

During the huddle, there seems to be no other way they can convince you not to move. They want what's best for you. They want you to be happy. So if that means you have to move away, so be it. After a small moment of thinking silently, Dave mumbles something about the competition for your affection.

"...do you guys think we should end the competition?"

"What competition?" Smitty asks.

"Y'know, where we tried to...win over Y/N?"

Another moment of processing silence.

"You're right," Scott speaks up. "I don't want this silly contest to get in the way of our friendship."

They think of a montage of all the times you've been so nice, caring, helpful, kind, nervous, and whatever other experience they had with you.

"Y/N's really been there for us a lot, huh?" Rich sighs. "How about this? We won't make the first move anymore. Instead, Y/N chooses."

"Deal," the other Movers nod.

"Mover handshake?" Rich asks.

"Yeah." "Good idea." "Mhm." Dave, Scott, and Smitty say and tangle their hands and arms around.

"We should've thought about how to do this ahead of time," Dave says, trying to get out of the handshake.

"Agreed," Smitty nods, trying to do the same.

"Yep," Rich stretched his arms.

"So tangle-y," Scott turns around, moving his fingers to gesture the tangles.

They walk back to you and Nina, who are both admiring the pretty, F/C of your new boots. They knew the fate of their friendship had changed for the better. Now, it was up to you to decide your fate for one of the guys.

Chapter Text

The Movers say their goodbyes to you and Nina and start to lock up their saved warehouse. You take another look at the guys from behind and sigh. Nina nudges your arm.

"Are you going to tell him?" She whispers.

You look down at the floor and take a deep breath. "It's better late than never, right? Besides, this day was pretty exciting...oh gosh, I'm starting to sound like Knit Knots," you and Nina laugh.

"Let me know what he says later on."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, I didn't say I was gonna do it right now!" You stammer.

Nina firmly places a hand on your shoulder. "I believe in you."

You feel tears welling up. You pull Nina into a huge, friendly hug.

"Thank you for being the bestest best friend in the existence of all best friends in the universe," you sniff, starting to get even more sentimental.

Nina giggles. "Don't cry just yet. You still have a long road ahead of you. I'll say it again, I believe in you."

You let go and look at him. The quartet are almost about to leave altogether.

"Now's your chance! Go, go, go!" Nina gently pushes you up the stairs, where you extend your hand and tug on his sleeve.

Rich turns back at you. "Hm? Is there anything you need, Y/N?"

You feel like you can't look away from his strikingly handsome face. You at least manage to gulp and nod your head.

"Rich, are you coming?" Dave asks from outside.

"You guys go on without me. I'll catch up," he responds.

"Okay. Don't forget to lock up," Dave waves and leaves.

Nina makes her way out the door. She looks back at you, subtly giving you a thumbs up with a wink. You can feel your breathing and mind settling from your nervousness.

"Are you sure you're okay?" He sounds a little worried.

You suddenly realize that it's only you two in this large, seemingly infinite warehouse. You feel so small compared to everything else around you, but knowing Rich is also here, it gives you another sense of calm. "Y-yeah. Uh, it's just that, uhm, I, uh, oh gosh, where do I even start?" You start to feel shaky from the thought of merely talking to him.

He places his hands on your shoulders, immediately grabbing your attention again. Once again, you can't look away.

"You know you can tell me anything. We're friends, after all," he smiles, but that only makes you more upset.

"That's the problem!" You step back.

Rich retracts his hands, shocked. You notice his expression changed and start to panic.

"No, no, no, no, no, no! Th-that's not what I meant! I don't want to end our friendship, not at all, never, just thinking about it hurts me, but..." you sigh. "I don't know if what I want to say will actually do so... or maybe," you slowly reach for his hand and hold it. "It can evolve."

You gaze into his eyes. The gears in his mind start to connect the pieces of what you're saying. Slowly, he gently tilts your chin up with his soft, tender fingers, pulling you into a gentle kiss. "I'd like that," he replies in a mere whisper before kissing you again. "I like you, too, Y/N."

Dave almost walks out the door, but looks back at you as you look very flustered.

"What's up?"

"...I, uh, need to talk to you about something. Alone"

"Ah, okay. I'll meet up with you guys in a sec," he waves off the others.

They leave. Nina lingers by the door and smiles at you two, feeling accomplished. You feel like she's blushing as red as Dave's hat.

"So, whatcha need?" He asks.

You're already at a loss of words. His cute smile, his amazing curly hair, how his cap compliments his studious, caring personality.

"Uhm, this might sound a bit silly," you sheepishly laughed.

"No way! You're one of the smartest people I know. If anything, I say the silliest things out of anyone. Well, second silliest. Scott might be first."

You laugh at his pouty thinking face. You think it's cute and iconic. "No, really. It will be."

"Well, I'll never know until you say it," he shrugs.

You flinch at his reply all of a sudden. He does have a point. However, he doesn't know the question. At least, not yet. You take a deep breath and brace for a response. "Ilikeyoumorethanafriend!"

He blinks in confusion, putting his hand around his ear, leaning closer to your mouth. "Can you say that more slowly?"

You feel your face get hot again now that he's even closer than before. "I like you more than a friend..." you mumble very quietly.

"Now I'm gonna need you to speak up," he laughs. "Wait a minute, I have just the invention for this!" He runs over to his invention corner and looks through his drawers.

"Ba-ba-dum-ba-ba-ba-baa! The Vocal-Intensifier 4000! Anything you say, no matter how fast or how quiet will be heard crystal clear. I'll put the fake ear on my real ear and you can talk into this can," he gives you a red can with the blue gear logo attached to a piece of yellow string connecting to the giant ear Dave is wearing.

"Uh, ok," you mumble.

You forgot Dave could hear you already. He gives you a thumbs up and smiles. You take a deep breath and close your eyes.

"For all these years, you've been one of the greatest friends I've ever had. Over time, these feelings might've–changed–but not in a bad way, no, no. It's just that–I wanted to tell you this for a very long time and I got nervous any time I got the chance, but I'm not going to delay any longer. Dave, I like you more than a friend. I...I really like you. I really, really like you! I...have a crush on you...! You peek one eye open to look at Dave. Only to your surprise, he's holding the fake ear in his hand standing right in front of you.

You slightly part your lips wanting to say something else, but his soft expression and curious yet caring eyes do all the talking for you.

"I hear you loud and clear..." he smiles.

He leans in to kiss you. You cup his face and kiss him back. You two pull away and smile even more. "I really like you, too, Y/N. I secretly dedicated so many of my inventions to you, I lost count. You're an amazing problem solver and I'm so glad you feel the same way."

"You took the words right out of my mouth," you smile and bring him into another kiss.

He looks around the room only to find out it was you who got his attention.

"Huh? Oh, hey, Y/N. What do you need?" He asked.

"You," is what you wanted to say. But alas, you didn't have the bravery to admit it. At least, not yet.

"I need to talk to you about something...alone, if you don't mind," you say.

"Only if you'll let Freddy Bear to join in!" He takes his teddy–I mean, Freddy Bear out and waves it by his side.

You glance at it and faintly shrug. "Uh, sure. Whatever you want."

He smiles and giggles even more to Freddy Bear. He nods the bear's head to indicate they're both excited. You always admired his excitable, happy-go-lucky attitude. He's a very silly person with big, imaginative ideas. Don't even get started whenever Scott thinks of reasonable solutions. The change of tone in his voice always...strikes something in your mind. He's full of surprises and you want to be there for every single one of them.

"Y/N? Y/N!? Hellooo? Anyone there?" Scott talks through Mr. Sock Puppet, snapping you out of your deep thought.

If only he knew what, or more so, who they were about. "Huh-wha-?" You blink and look around the room only to be met with Scott who now has one of his sock puppets on one hand and holding Freddy Bear with the other.

"Oh, well, we were asking you all the possible things you were going to tell me, but you didn't respond to anything. You just kept staring at the wall riiight over there," he turns around while still mimicking the puppet.

"Oh, uh, yeah, sorry about that," you scratch the back of your neck.

"Soooo, what do you need again?" He asks in his regular voice, giving you his full undivided attention.

His cheerful expression makes you smile just from being in the same room as him.

"W-Well, uh, like I said before, I do really need to talk to you...alone...again."

He blinks at you.

"...meaning-no Freddy Bear, Mr. Sock Puppet, and anyone or anything else. Just you and me," you sound a little more stern.

He takes notice of your change of tone and increased eye contact. He calms down and listens to you more.

You take a deep breath and begin. "I had no idea how to tell you this before because you, or I guess the both of us, were always busy with something. But now, for the first time in a while, it feels like everything around me slowed down for once so I can finally talk to you. Honestly, I just really like talking to you! You're really kind, sweet, and your ideas are wonderful! Even if they do seem silly at least. No offense," you cover your mouth with the side of your hand and look away.

"I...like talking to you, too, Y/N," he smiles. "I really think you're really cool. Oh wow, I just said 'really' twice," he laughs at himself.

"Silly Scott," you extend your arm and ruffle the top of his head. He's taller than you thought, so you accidentally smudged the lens of his Wobble Goggles. You retract your hand and flinch. "I'm really sorry about that! I didn't mean to do that!"

"No worries. These needed a polish anyways," he removes his Wobble Goggles and wipes them with part of his sleeve.

Your heart soared seeing him without his trademark goggles on. It was definitely a rare sight. He looked really...good. He glances back at you and smiles, catching you staring at him. You snap back to reality and cover as much of your face you can with one hand. Blushing, smiling, somewhat silently giggling, you were smitten.

Scott gently removes your hand and gives it a soft squeeze, your eyes not breaking contact while smiling ear to ear. You hold his other hand lean in for a kiss. You pull back and try putting on his Wobble Goggles back on top of his forehead. He adjusts them and smiles back at you.

"So, I'm guessing you liked me for a while now, huh?"

"You knew?!"

"Not all at," he shakes his head.

You let out a snicker that turned into an actual laugh. "You are something else."

"And you're all I need," he wraps an arm around your shoulder.

"Even more than a lifetime supply of sock puppets?"

He thinks about that for a moment. You laugh again and roll your eyes. "Kidding!" He finally speaks up, kissing your temple.

He looks at you. "Hey. You need something?"

You part your lips, but nod instead. He tells the guys that he'll meet up with them later.

"Whatcha need?"

"Ok, well," you started, but was interrupted by Warehouse Mouse calling for Smitty's attention.

"Mitty, Mitty, Mitty!" He cheerfully squeaks.

"Hey, little buddy. You need anything?"

He whispers in his ear. You can't hear what he's saying.

"Are you sure? Are you really sure?" Smitty asks. Warehouse Mouse continues whispering. "Really-?" His face turns a little red.

"Is everything okay?" You tilt your head.

He flinches and turns back to you. "Y-yeah! It's just that, um, Warehouse Mouse has something to tell you," Warehouse Mouse nods as he rests on top of Smitty's shoulder.

"What's up, little dude?" You lean closer to Smitty and stand on your tiptoes to get to Warehouse Mouse's height on his shoulder.

"I jus wana tel u Mitty wansts tu say he wikes u mor than a frien," he squeaks.

You look back and see a heavily blushing, flustered Smitty with his head turned away from the two.

"What is he saying?"

Smitty tilts his hat over his face. "How about you learn how to...understand Mouse?" He gives a crooked side smile. Warehouse Mouse groans and facepalms himself.

"Are you sure? I'd rather have you translate, to be honest," you stop to think for a moment. "But, then again, I wouldn't mind getting to understand you little buddy more"

He sighs. "Y-yeah. It's for the best. This is a really good, um, practice translation, too for more...advanced stuff" He seems eager, yet completely nervous.

"Alright. Warehouse Mouse, can you repeat what you said?" You ask.

He sighs. "Dis is gona tak furever. I jus wana tel u Mitty wansts tu say he wikes u mor then a frien."

"Okay, I understood 'I'. So, 'I just wanna tel you Smitty' wans? No, wants to say he wikes-likes you mur, more than a frien...d. I just wanna tell you Smitty wants to say he likes you more than a friend! Is that right?"

Warehouse Mouse cheers and nods his head. Smitty tilts his hat to cover his face even from the fact you got it correct. Your face drops, surprised as you realize what you just translated.

"OH!" You exclaim, turning around to put your hands on your face. "Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow," you repeat and start to blush even more.

You slowly turn around and pull his hat back on his head. Smitty can't look away from you now.

"Is it really true?" You ask in a mere whisper.

"As true as Warehouse Mouse loves cheese."

"U got dat ryet!" Warehouse Mouse agrees from his mouse hole.

You and Smitty look back and chuckle. He turns back to you. He's starting to feel better. He adjusts his hat again and cups your face.

"You're a good translator," you smile.

"And you're an amazing person," he smiles and leans in for a kiss he's been waiting for all this time to which you happily return by kissing him back.
