Summary:

It's semi monthly ASS squad gaming night at Sebastian's today!

Notes:

This story would not have existed without a video by @whiskas00_ on tiktok, aka once I've seen the video two weeks ago, that's all I could think about. Ask my friend, she's the one who had to listen me talk about it first for the said last two weeks. So the setting and a first half is very much insipired by that video, told with my own twist. Overall, thanks for reading, I've written it in one sitting in the middle of the night, hope it will be worth your time :)

Work Text:

Warm summer's night has covered the town of Pelican that is located in the valley known as Stardew. The night is late, even the town's night time hot spot, the saloon, has cleared up, the doors were locked. All there was left to hear is the river, slowly running through the town. And yet, unbeknown to everyone else, high in the mountains, in the basement of a well built family home, the night is still young.

"Sam, what the hell was that?!" A young looking woman yelled at the blond hair man, who was trying very hard to hold in a laughter. Her voice was firm, everyone in the room could feel the disappointment. "We talked about no blue shells, didn't we?!" She continued. At that point Sam lost it and started laughing harder than he ever did. The last person in the room, a dark-haired man softly smacked a blond man in the nape of his neck, this way insisting to lower his voice.

"Okay, okay, I get it, I'm sorry Abby," Sam said after calming himself down. "One more round?"

"Nah, let's play something else.. Seb?" Abigail, who was still slightly annoyed, looked at the man who was laying on the purple couch a bit further from the other two.

"Huh?" Young man looked up at the direction of the sound.

"We're picking the next game, any suggestions?"

"I'll pass this one, you two pick" He quickly replied and went back reading he was reading on his phone.

"Man, again?" Blond man reacted with a lot of energy. "You passed the last two, if it's your work stuff, I-" And was quickly cut off by Abigail.

"Fine, then the next game is going to be-" All Sebastian could hear was mumbling after that.

Sam was right, he was busy with work. Before the guests came over, he was working on this one code that just kept on breaking, no trouble shooting would help. He couldn't just cancel the hang out, and yet the code was still bugging him, the least he could care about was video games. Sebastian isn't stupid, he knows he needs to freshen up, but the stubbornness has taken the better of him, he has to find the solution and he has to find it now.

While Sebastian was lost inside his own mind, he felt slight vibration in his hand - he got a message:

I'm outside.

Oh are you really now. - He typed out a quick response. Not even a full minute later he received another text.

Come and find out.

That was enough to convince the dark looking man to get up, receiving very confused looks from his gaming buddies. And yet, he walked out without saying a word. No one in the room said a single word.

Sebastian slowly closed the basement door behind himself, very quietly walked up the stairs without waking up the rest of the people living here and headed straight to the front door. He opened the door where a broad shoulder statue was luminated by the full moon. Sebastian closed the door behind him, his face looked grumpy and before he could question the statue in front of him, young man in a green sports jersey smiled and then spoke up first.

"Hi"

"Why are you here, Alex?" Sebastian muttered, his expression was hard to read.

"Y'know, had a late night work out at the gym." the sporty man smiled again and just then Sebastian noticed a red gym bag laying on the ground next to Alex.

"In summer? That's new." Sebastian rolled his eyes while leaning on the front door, he couldn't sound less impressed.

"It's fun to change up the seasonal routine from time to time," Alex looked over Sebastian from head to toe. "Also I knew you'd be awake"

"Oh get lost," Sebastian's answer made Alex laugh. He's not going anywhere.

"You're alone tonight, mind if I crash in for a few hours?" Alex asked leaning closer to Sebastian, his voice became deeper and firmer than before.

"Sam and Abigail are staying over, so no," Sebastian felt like he was being pushed to the corner, both literally and figuratively. "Now back off."

"You're sending mixed signals here, Seb," Alex took a step back. "You're telling me to back off and yet-"

"Yet what?"

"Yet you're still here."

Sebastian stood in the shadow so even the dim moonlight could barely reach him, yet Alex could have sworn he saw the pale face of dark-haired man flushing up just ever so slightly.

This relationship between the two is just as odd as the pair itself. Their connection was truly special. Something was going on for years, yet neither of them put the label on it, nor wanted to do that. It was fine how it is, no one else needed to know, explaining it would have been just much of a hassle. Meeting up at night from time to time was just enough for both.

Sebastian walks towards the garage door with Alex following close by, dragging the gym bag just above the ground to minimize the noise. Before Sebastian could open the door, gym bag hit the ground again, he felt the cool wood paneling behind him and heavy force weighting on his chest, Alex couldn't wait any longer. He leaned in heavily for a deep kiss. Sebastian wrapped his arms around Alex, feeling up all over his back. Despite his grumpy demeanor, at this moment Sebastian needed Alex just as much as Alex needed him, if not more.

The code issues, yet another recent fight with Demetrius, feeling trapped in this small town, the uncertainty about his future and many other dark thoughts have been clouding Sebastian's mind. What he needed was a constant. That constant was Alex.

His Alex.

The two continued passionately making out, feeling safe in each other's arms only pulling away to breathe in and then going back right in.

And suddenly, without any warning, the two heard noises coming from the mines, making them jump back away from each other.

"Those fucking bugs! Move to the old farm, they said. It will be fun, they said. And for the love of Yoba, why couldn't the old man mention slimes, JUST ONCE!" New farmer who moved in earlier this year, heading back home after staying out way past their bedtime. The two just listened, Alex grew a very concerned look on his face, meanwhile Sebastian couldn't help but giggle, it is not the first night he's seeing a farmer like this.

"But noooo, i have to find out about them after i make this life changing decision of moving-- Oh! Hi, Sebastian! Hi, Alex!" Farmer warmly greeted young men after noticing them just standing, the two just waved back and farmer continued ranting to themselves while heading home.

"Is farmer always like this?" Alex asked Sebastian, after noticing a lack of confusion on his face.

"Most of the time." Sebastian just shrugs.

"Moment ruined?" Alex asked again, this time with a grain of hope in his voice.

"Moment ruined." Sebastian replied, pulling out a cigarette out of his pocket.

"So... This time tomorrow?" Alex winked.

"Shut up." Sebastian answers, playfully hitting Alex letting out a soft giggle that makes Alex's heart do multiple cartwheels.

And thus, the two split up for the night, Alex headed down the mountain towars the town centre and Sebastian, after finishing his smoke, headed right back to the basement.

"Where have you been?" Abigail asked before Sebastian could even close the doors behind him.

"Smoke." He answered plopping down on the couch.

"But we heard sounds?" Sam continued.

"Farmer stayed out late again," With this he put friends' minds to easy and scooted just a bit closer to the pair "Whatcha playing, may I join?"

"Sure, just one moment." Abigail answered while her character was decimating character controlled by Sam.

Group didn't stay up for too long. In the morning, after the guests have had breakfast and left, Sebastian turned on the program to see the broken code. To his own surprise, he noticed the issue instantaneously and to no one's surprise, he missed one single semicolon. Of course.

Sebastian's life in Pelican Town may have its drawbacks. But here he has something more important than anything else. A certain something. A certain someone.
