There's never a winner of the quick draw

Summary:

One finished artwork and two unfinished sketches for estimeric week 2024.

Notes:

My contribution to estimeric week this year! I had planned to do more but ran out of time sadly. The prompt is AU, naturally 🤠 inspired by the song wild west show by big & rich. It's on one of my favorite albums ever and I was listening to it a while ago and it clicked for me as suiting Estinien and Aymeric nicely. The lyrics describe a couple who is at odds with one another and have some hope to work it out, played out through american wild west metaphors.

As a bonus, I also included some sketches I started but didn't finish. The plan was to redraw some of my old artworks, so you may recognize these based on that. They would have been for the prompts healing and dance, respectively! Maybe I will go back to them one day.

Work Text:

Digital artwork of Aymeric and Estinien from Final Fantasy XIV, dressed as cowboys. Estinien is wearing a poncho with leather gloves and a bandana around his neck, dressed like an outlaw. He is pulling a revolver on Aymeric and sneering at him. Aymeric is wearing a button up shirt and vest with a sheriff's star pinned to it, his own revolver on a holster on his hip. He is giving an intimidating smile to Estinien while staring at him from inches away. His hand is on the barrel of Estinien's revolver, pressing it down and away from himself.

Digital sketch of Aymeric and Estinien from Final Fantasy XIV. Estinien is in bed with bandages all over him, looking defeated. Aymeric is leaning in to kiss him on the forehead and soothe him, hugging him gently. Estinien is reaching a hand around Aymeric's back but it is hovering not quite touching him. Estinien's broken drachen helm is on a table beside the bed.

Digital sketch of Aymeric and Estinien from Final Fantasy XIV. They are dancing closely in a garden at night, with string lights and stars in the background. Aymeric is wearing a fancy outfit while Estinien is wearing simple clothing.
