"Eddie grimaces to himself, taking in just how much of Buck has been erased from his own home and family to be replaced by a more palatable caricature of himself. Even the photos placed on the dresser, nightstand, and bookshelf are stiff and manufactured. A picture-perfect family for their picture-perfect white-picket-fence life. All appearances, and no real feelings. Everything is staged, down to the last tight-lipped smile.
The layer of dust covering everything only serves as evidence that the door to this room was shut and never opened again. Eddie pulls the comic book, football trophy, and annoyingly stuffy family photos off of their shelves and the dresser and puts them into a pile on the bed."
Or: Eddie vows to make Buck a baby box of his own, collecting any memory from his childhood that he can get his hands on- even if it means enlisting the help of Buck's parents.
