“Hey, I think someone was living here,” Logan says as she stomps back into the room.
“On purpose?” Wade quips, spinning quickly like he’s guilty of something. Logan has lost the ugly blue and yellow jacket of her suit, it’s tossed carelessly on the counter, and the ratty white tank top underneath is torn and bloodstained from their earlier theatrics. It’s obnoxious, honestly, the way every muscle in her arm flexes as she reaches for the box of smokes, and how her skin shifts over her collarbone and throat as she hooks it in her mouth.
Logan snaps and waves. “Are you in there, you idiot?”
“Uh-huh?” Wade is not in here. He is caught up on her mouth as she lights it and takes a drag, the way the lines of her face stretch and settle into what is clearly a familiar shape. Wade is into women, and Wade is into men, and so when he runs the numbers, this makes more sense than it should.
