Jackson came out of their bedroom patting his pockets. He walked to the kitchen, where he found Holland.
"Hey, March, have you seen my phone?"
Holland closed the fridge and looked back. "Not recently, no. You lost it again, old man?" He teased.
"Yeah. Still not used to carrying the damn thing around all the time. Can I use your phone to call myself, hear if it rings?"
"Sure."
Healy grabbed March's phone from the kitchen island and turned it on. What he saw put a smile on his face. Holland had a picture of Jack as his phone's wallpaper. It was from the last 4th of July. Jack was standing in their backyard smiling at the camera with big fireworks behind him.
"You calling or what?" March asked.
Healy looked at him with a foolish grin and turned the phone around so the other man could see it. "I didn't know we could change this. How long have you had this?"
"A while now. I had to ask Holly how to change it. This way, I can see your face every time I turn it on."
Jackson grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him into a passionate kiss.
That night, while Holland was watching a show he liked on TV, Jackson knocked on Holly's door.
"Come in." Her singsong voice said.
"Hey, kid." Jackson sat down on her bed beside her and pulled his phone out. "I need you to teach me how to change this screen." He showed her his lock screen with the default picture.
"Oh, it's easy. What picture do you want to put?"
He opened his gallery and showed her the photo. "This one of your father on our wedding day. Handsome, eh?"
Holly smiled and walked him through the process.
Afterwards, Healy sat on the couch and curled up next to March. "Look." And he showed him his new lock screen. "Now I can always carry your smile in my pocket." He said as he pocketed his phone.
