Work Text:

I was born with purpose, a duty untold,
To follow the path where tradition unfolds.
Silent strength was my shield, my calm resolve,
To save my people, to sacrifice, to absolve.
Without question, I took each step,
A pilgrim's march to meet my death.
In darkness, I would find the light,
To end Sin’s wrath and bring the night.

Yet, you appeared—a strange, bright flame,
With laughter, courage, unbound by shame.
Your questions shook the walls I built,
Your smile made heavy burdens tilt.
Through your eyes, I saw more clear,
A world with hope, and absent fear.

You taught me to laugh despite the pain,
Awkward, yes—but joy in rain.
With a whistle, you made me believe,
That when I called, you would never leave.
You became my guardian, heart so true,
Determined to break the chains I knew.

Still, my fate—so etched in stone,
Drew me toward the unknown.
To save my friends, I chose the lie,
A marriage cold beneath the sky.
But there, your rage—my heart did see,
That in your eyes, I was more than duty, more than me.

My lips met another’s, though my heart stayed still,
Bound to save the lives I must fulfill.
But you, you fought, you stood your ground,
My heart beat louder when you were around.
We escaped, we ran, but my soul felt light,
In your presence, the future seemed so bright.

By the lake, you held me tight,
We spoke of dreams beneath the night.
With doubts exposed, I laid them bare,
But you, with love, erased despair.
A kiss so tender, soft and true,
I let myself belong to you.
In that moment, I found my peace,
Perhaps, we thought, this pain could cease.

Yet, fate would not change so easily,
For when Sin falls, I’ll lose you completely.
The man I love, a dream’s last breath,
Still, we fought together, facing death.
And when it ended, victory won,
You, my love, began to come undone.

I chased you, arms stretched wide,
Hoping once more to feel you by my side.
But through your form, I fell, my heart, it broke,
A final truth in whispers spoke.
I stood, and with tears held in my eyes,
I confessed the love I'd never realized.
“I love you,” I cried, as you began to fade,
In your arms, love’s tender shade.

And though you vanished into air,
Your love, my strength, will always be there.
Though I whistle, call your name,
It’s not in vain, nor filled with shame.
I stand before our people strong,
Remembering you in every song.
For even now, I carry you near,
Your voice, your smile, forever dear.

I’ll never forget what you gave me—light,
In the darkest days and the loneliest nights.
You taught me joy, you taught me love,
A gift that lives in skies above.
Though you’re gone, your memory remains,
A whisper in the winds, a laugh in the rains.
