Work Text:
She did not think that she would be spending one of the first weeks of Dipper and Mabel being back, in the hospital, but here she was. Yes, perfect prissy little rich girl Pacifica had to have her wisdom teeth removed. It all started one day on her way to the Mystery Shack when she felt a sharp pain in her mouth, which she ignored. That is, until it became so painful that she doubled over. Thankfully, she was in view of the front window so the twins saw her and ushered her inside. After looking inside her mouth, Ford concluded that she was in fact growing other teeth.
"What?! Nooooo...." She had whined.
Of course, she could pay for it. Being a little rich girl. Her parents may have been defrauded and lost their mansion, but they were by all means still well-off.
So here she was, in a bed in a little private hospital room, being prepared to go under anesthesia.
“Will it hurt?” She asks the doctor, still wincing from the current pain.
“No... that’s what the anesthesia's for.”
Stan, Dipper and Mabel are there for moral support, and also because her parents refused to take her. Dipper gives her a confused look.
“Right... of course. I knew that!”
“Ya know kid, when I went to get my wisdom teeth out, I was so hyped up I was saying the craziest stuff. Of course, I always say crazy stuff, so no one could tell the difference!”
“Grunkle Stan you’re not helping!” Mabel swats his arm and he pretends to be hurt.
“You’re gonna be fine Pacifica.” She says.
“I know. I’m not scared.”
The doctor finishes the preparations and has the others leave the room for the surgery.
After about an hour the door opens and the family walk back in to see Pacifica still asleep.
“She’ll wake up in a few moments. But remember, she’s still gonna be kinda loopy from the medicine, so can you guys handle that?”
“Of course.” Comes the chorus of the less than reputable great uncle and two 13-year-olds.
The doctor is not reassured. He walks out anyway and leaves the 4 together.
“Hrngghhh.”
“Ah kid, you’re awake.”
“How do you feel Pacifica?”
The blonde girl takes a moment to sit up and look around the room.
“Fine. I feel... good.”
“I’m glad.” Dipper says.
She focuses on him and smiles.
“Alright. Let’s get you to the Shack.”
Laughter is heard as the group open the door of the Mystery Shack.
Dipper tries to speak between wheezes.
“I still- can’t believe- she cried about- snakes not having arms.”
“I- know right?” Mabel giggles.
“Hey- guys... stop laughing at me.” Pacifica whines.
At this point she’s somewhere between loopy and tired.
“Sorry kid, sorry.”
They sober up and try to contain themselves. Stan breaks off as the twins help Pacifica up the stairs and onto the mattress on the floor of the attic. The others follow after Stan tells them how it went. She burrows her legs under the sheets.
“Just let us know if you need anything.” Mabel grins.
“Uh huh...”
She quickly looks around and then lands on Dipper again as he’s going to get up.
“Dipper, you know you’re like, my favourite right?”
Everyone quietly screams in excitement. Except for Dipper. He’s sitting shock still.
“Uh... what?”
They then all decide it’s a good idea to file out of the room and leave the other two alone.
“You’re my favourite Pines family member. You’re like... the cutest.”
Dipper’s face quickly becomes very, very red.
“Thank you... Pacifica.”
“I kind of... really... like you.” She yawns and promptly falls asleep.
He smiles.
“I... like you too.”
