Slowing a speedy Bunny

Summary:

Bobby and Hoppy end up meeting unexpectedly. Deciding to have them fun together Bobby suggests trying out Hypnosis

Notes:

Just a goofy little thing I decided to make with the bear and bun. I like doing hypno stories, they're fun to do for me. Also cute when done right.
Might post more of this here, might not. Who knows this may turn into an au or something.
Definitely probably will change the title though. Wasn't sure what to name it. Likely will after awhile come up with something better

Work Text:

Under a nice shady tree a small bright red bear sat at its base. A book in her lap as she feels the breeze through her fur and enjoys the sound of the birds. It was like this for a few minutes, the bear relaxing and enjoying the nice day outside from her position, paw resting on the book that she planned on reading today.

Several minutes had passed under that tree before Bobby's mind eventually wandered away from everything around her and toward the book in her lap once more. She had come out here to read and relax after all. Was probably best to begin doing that first thing. The bear decided that it was probably about time to start.

Bobby took a quick breath before going to open her book, putting her legs out to get comfortable. Once the girl began everything seemed to feel quiet, peaceful even. Sure the birds still chirped and the sound of the trees around her still moved with the wind but the critter hardly seemed to notice. Outside of the light between the leaves moving with the branches and leaves which she actually quite liked, and when the wind picked up slightly and tried tossing the object in her hands away there wasn't much.

All in all, about an hour passes without much issue or even much notice to the bear. Nothing really broke the bear's focus for the most part, especially when she began using both hands to hold the book so the wind wouldn't interrupt her.

The first thing that did break her focus though was the sound of an object hitting the ground nearby. This made Bobby look up and around the area only to quickly find a ball bouncing a few times before stopping to rest in the grass.

"Whoa." Was her only response to the ball which had stopped only a few feet from her. Bobby was familiar with this ball, knowing who it would belong to. If it was here than that would surely mean...

As if on cue the sound of hurried pawsteps graced Bobby's ears and soon she caught a green rabbit quickly running past toward the ball she had kicked.

"Wow, hey Hoppy." Bobby called, mainly out of surprise to see her out here. Hearing the voice Hoppy glanced over at the sound to see her friend Bobby sitting not too far away under a tree.

"Oh hey Bobby, sorry for scaring ya." She tells her, picking up the ball before turning and walking up to her.

"Not a problem, what're you doing here?" Bobby asks, a little curious.

"Well this little clearing is one of my play spots. So I decided to come out here and play around considering I have nothing better to do." She explains to her friend, her voice a little sped up from what was normal. "You?"

"I came out to read under the tree." She says, moving the open book in her lap for emphasis. A smile on her face.

"Oh well, I can go to one of my other spots if you want privacy." She offers to her friend, bouncing the ball off the ground and catching it.

"No, you can stay. I'll move if anything." Bobby tells her, she didn’t want to ruin her friend’s time or anything.

"Well it'd be rude to kick you out, you were here first afterall." Hoppy admits with a small chuckle. "No reason we can't share the space. There is alot of it." She adds, looking around. The area they were in was quite big at least from their perspective, the only real trees nearby serving as the border. Being really the only thing separating them from the cozy little town they called home.

"Yeah, and besides I'm not using that much anyway." Bobby agrees. Besides, she likes seeing Hoppy play.

The rabbit nods, her tail wagging at the thought. "Alrighty than. I'll try not to bother you too much." She told her, once she received a nod the lapin began walking a little ways away. Tossing the ball up a little bit before catching it every few feet.

Bobby giggles, watching her friend wander into the clearing before starting to kick the ball around. It wasn't looking before she returned to the book she had been reading prior to Hoppy's surprise appearance. The bear had made it a good 30 some pages in beforehand so it shouldn't be hard to go a bit further.

Once again she went back to reading though with the added noises from Hoppy it had become slightly harder to focus on the words. To the point she found herself looking up to see what her friend was doing, her mind curious, more than she wanted it to be right now. After a little bit the bear girl flipped a few pages to find the end of the chapter she was on.

Deciding to finish the chapter she was on she went back to reading for another couple of minutes which was still a little difficult with the noise. Sure she wasn't one of the ones in the group with giant ears but hers picked up a lot, more than she thought or really wanted sometimes.

After about 10 minutes the red bear finished the chapter she was on. Bobby reaches over and grabs the bookmark she brought with her and places it right between the pages to pick it back up later. Putting the book in the grass Bobby got her foot under herself and stood up.

Her eyes follow the rabbit as she kicks her ball back and forth across the small empty clearing, unaware of the loving bear watching her play around. She likely wouldn't notice unless she was called, which only normally happened for her whenever she was focused.

"Hey Hoppy!" Bobby calls watching the lime green bunny kick the ball into the air before looking at the girl that wanted her attention. Catching said ball without looking at it in the process.

"Oh Bobby, Hey. You done with your book already?" She asks as her friend pads up to her, a smile on her face.

"Nah, decided to stop for now and read more later." She answers, not wanting to mention Hoppy being a bit of a distraction. Didn't wanna make her feel bad about it.

"Oh, well hope I didn't, like, annoy you or anything." She mentions.

"Don't worry you didn't. Besides, I'd rather hang out with you while you're here." She reassures, it wasn't a complete lie. She thought it'd be a waste to not spend time with her friend while she was around anyway.

"Okay than, let's play then." She spoke, bouncing the ball against the ground. "I know you aren't all that interested and stuff when it comes to kickball but..."

"Well you could show me... or we could just kick it around, or something else." Bobby suggests, seeing her lightly kick the ball toward her with the side of her foot. "If you wanna."

With that the bear smiles and kicks it back. with it rolling back to the bunny who was taking a few steps back which the bear mirrors. Once in place Hoppy put a foot on the ball and looked over at her friend.

"You ready?" She asks and after barely seeing a hint of a nod she kicks the ball toward Bobby. It left her little time to react, but she managed to kick it in another direction to give her more time next time by getting a little further away.

What she didn't expect was that her strategy to give her more time didn't really work as she found Hoppy already at the ball again despite having kicked it in a completely different direction from her.

Before she knew it the ball was quickly on its way back to her. Being forced to dodge out of the way lest she falls on her face. She ended up on the ground anyway, letting out a small yelp in the process.

"Oh, sorry. Guess I still don't know my own strength." Hoppy called before she was by the bear's side in what felt like the blink of an eye, reaching out a hand for her.

"It's okay. I'm just surprised how quick that was." Bobby told her, taking her arm and going to stand. "How fast are you?" She adds with a chuckle while brushing herself off.

The only response she gave was wiping her nose with her arm, a chuckle escaped her with it.

"But like, seriously you're so quick and energetic. Practically a living power generator." Bobby tells her. Hoppy giggles at that.

"Honestly I think I could power the entire town for like an entire year." She replies with a wide smile. "Just put me in a hamster wheel." another giggle comes. "Nothing can slow me down."

Bobby giggles with her, catching a glimpse at Hoppy's pendent, giving a slight glow at the rabbit's mostly exaggerated claim. It did give Bobby a thought though, a strange one but it was one.

"Nothing?" She asks, playing with her own pendant. The rabbit nods quickly. "You think we could test that?"

"How?" Hoppy asks, unsure what she was getting at.

"Uh... what about hypnosis?" She suggests to her. The girl thought about it for a moment. She knew what that was, would it even work though? Even on her?

"You think that'd even work?" She questions, watching as Bobby brought her hands up to her neck and took off her pendant before showing it to her. "We could find out?"

The green speedster looking at the heart. She had to be honest with herself. She was a little curious.

"Okay, but what if it doesn't work?" She asks, whether this hypnosis idea didn't actually work didn't really matter to Hoppy. She was just happy to spend time with her friend. Didn't change the fact the rabbit wondered if it did.

"We'll figure that out when we get there I guess." Bobby says.

"I know, I'm just not even sure if it works. Least I haven't heard of it happening." She admits.

"Just because you haven't heard of it working doesn't mean it doesn't work, Hoppy." She says, swinging her pendant on her finger by the string. "You just worried you'll fall into a trance too easily?" She asks jokingly with a chuckle.

"W-What? I'm strong-willed. It'll take a lot to hypnotize me." She says. She knew Bobby wasn't serious about it but she felt slightly offended, slightly.

"You sure? It's always possible you'll go right under." She says, deciding to continue the playful argument.

"No, come on. Of course it'd take more than a few swings of your necklace to hypnotize me." Hoppy defends, unsure if she was confident in that answer herself.

"You wanna bet on it or something Hoppy?" She asks still with a smile.

"You know what? Sure why not, I don't mind." Hoppy agrees with a smile. "If it doesn't work you have to admit I'm strong willed, or whatever you call it."

"That's it? That's easy enough. I'd really do anything Hops." Bobby says, crossing her arms for a moment.

"I'll think about it later." She admits. "And if you do manage to hypnotize me than... uh... Well, you can do anything you want to me." She tells her. Receiving a quick nod from the bear cub.

"What're you gonna make me do if you do hypnotize me?" Hoppy asks. "Call you Mistress Bearhug? shake my butt at you?" She asks, with a giggle, giving her butt a shake in the process. It made her friend mirror her laughter.

"Okay. So, are we ready?" Bobby asks again, calming her giggling and holding up her necklace again. The heart gently swaying in front of the rabbit. "You bet, let's do it." Hoppy says, bending her legs, wagging her tail and getting excited.

"Than stand up straight, eyes on the pendent." She instructs, and just as instructed Hoppy straightens herself and looks at the bear's heart pendant.

Confirming they were ready Hoppy saw Bobby begin swinging the heart-shaped pendant in front of her face. Her eyes follow it as her friend instructs her, taking her focus away from really anything else currently.

Bobby watches Hoppy as she swings the pendent in front of her friend. Seeing the rabbit's ear flop down behind her head and her eyes seemed to get hyper-focused on it.

After about a minute of swinging the pendent Bobby decided to begin speaking to her.

"That's good, you're doing great." Bobby comments, seeing Hoppy's mouth curl into a little smile at the compliment.

"Now, while you watch the pendant swing I want you to relax." She tells her, her voice rather softly. "Could you do that for me?" She asks. Her friend took a minute, probably too focused on it to hear it for a moment, before responding with a nod. She made sure to keep her white pupils on Bobby's pendant like she was instructed to.

"Breathe in, breathe out." She tells her and the rabbit quickly did just that. Once the heart hit the top of it's arch Hoppy breathed in and let it out as soon as it hit the opposite side.

"There you go." Bobby says, watching Hoppy do as told with her breathing, muscles looking to relax as she kept her eyes on the object. "Nice and relaxed."

Hoppy continued to watch while the bear swung the heart in front of her, relaxed and a bit happy as she followed the swinging object. This went for a few moments before the bear spoke again.

"You're doing amazing, Hoppy." The rabbit seemed happy about that. "I want you to clear your mind for me now. Okay?" She asks. Following her words again Hoppy let her thoughts drift away and mind wander. "Good, you only need to focus on my voice and my heart."

The bunny gave a sound of acknowledgement, that wasn't that hard to hear. She had already started tuning out most outside noises outside of Bobby anyway. Having been told she should, she did exactly that.

"Great, nice, happy and relaxed. Aren't ya Hops?" Bobby asks her. The green bunny gave a quick nod, not able to really understand anything other than her bear friend.

Bobby gives her a smile. "You've been doing amazing Hoppy." She compliments. "You're really resistant to being hypnotized." Bobby tells her which seems to make the rabbit really happy. At least from what she could tell from the half-aware face she was currently making.

"You know that you can't resist forever though." She says. It was something that Hoppy agreed with and the swinging heart paired with Bobby's soft sweet voice made it even harder.

"You're likely to eventually just fall asleep." She tells her. That sounded correct to Hoppy's semi-conscious state. She nodded in agreement.

"Why don't you fall asleep than? It would be easier to just give in rather than resist and delay the inevitable." Bobby tells her. The rabbit nods with a mumbled "Uh huh..."

"Alright, than just drift away to the swing of my pendent." Bobby tells her. Her friend took her advice. Slowly beginning to feel more tired than she already was. To be fair, being tired wasn't a normal thing for Hoppy. "Now, when I tell you. You will instantly fall asleep and into a nice comfy trance."

Hoppy quickly nodded, understanding her friend of what was going to happen. A small yawn escaping her.

The loving bear smiles. "Good. Now sleep little bunny rabbit." At the sound of Bobby's statement to her ears Hoppy feels her eyes droop and close. Falling right to sleep just as she was asked too.

Once soft snoring came out of the lapin Bobby twirls her necklace around her finger with a smile. Looking her over as she put it back around her neck.

The bear did a quick little circle around the bunny, looking at her. It was such a rare sight to see Hoppy tired in the slightest much less asleep, even at a sleepover, Bobby may as well enjoy seeing her friend asleep before making her do stuff.

She gave a giggle a quick poke at the green cottonball that serves as the rabbit's tail before heading back to the front of her.

"Alrighty. Hoppy, can you hear me?" She asks the sleeping bunny. To her surprise Hoppy responded with a "Yes Bobby." The hypnosis actually worked. The thought that it worked makes the bear hop a little in place from excitement.

"Okay, Okay... Okay. Now, will you do what I say?" The bear asks with a smile. She received the same reply in the same monotone voice.

"Tell me who you are. Give me your full name" She tells her.

"My name is Hoppy Hopscotch." The girl spoke, still in a monotone voice. Bobby smiles at her answer.

Bobby giggles with a smile. "Good. Exactly what I wanted from you." She says, giving her lapin friend a pat on the head.

She thought of something for the hypnotized rabbit to do for a moment before she thought of something.

"Alright my bunny friend, since you like running why don't you go to that tree." Bobby starts, pointing at the furthest tree away from them. "and back as fast as you can backwards." She finishes, wanting to test out the rabbit a little.

Hoppy nods and confirms her order before turning around and began walking backwards toward the tree in the distance. The bear watches the girl put one foot-paw behind the other before repeating it with the other one. This continued slowly at first before Hoppy soon picked up the pace and she quickly got smaller in her friend's sight.

Only about another minute passed before the bunny's back reached and touched the bark of the tree trunk. Her brain realizing she reached it Hoppy did a 180 so her back faced the bear. Before long she began backing up to where she started.

Bobby's white eyes stayed on the green rabbit as she wandered back to her, going at around half her normal speed now. Before long Hoppy was right back in her starting position.

"Good Hoppy." She says with a giggle, petting her head once she returns beside her. "Thank you Bobby."

"Alright, do a handstand." She orders and just as quickly she nodded and obeyed the bear. Leaning down she plants her hands on the ground and pushes her bottom half up into the air. Her ears laid spread out on the grass.

Bobby smiles and looks at her. "Well, I found your butt." She giggles despite Hoppy not reacting. "Alright, hop back onto your feet." Without missing a beat the rabbit bent her arms a little before pushing up hard enough to jump into the air.

Hoppy manages to land right back on her feet, springing back into a standing position.

"Acrobatic as much as your speed." Bobby says with a smile. "Thank you Bobby." She says with her mindless gaze.

"You are athletic after all." She says, smiling at her friend staring ahead at nothing.

Silence fell between the two of them for a time. Bobby having a little trouble coming up with ideas to make the rabbit do. Minutes pass before her mind came up with a few more things to do.

"Hoppy Hopscotch, Why don't you give me a little dance." Bobby says.

Once again Hoppy says "Of course Bobby." before she went to do as told. The bear watches her dance a little, doing small twirls and things as she goes.

"Man, I wish I had a camera so the others could see." She spoke, though maybe she could... that'd be for later however. For now she just watches, it was one of the couple times she actually did something like this. Usually she kept that stuff mostly private.

"Nice, you do excellent." She says, impressed by the display she put on. She had to have been practicing. "Uh... why don't you tell me something funny that happened to you as you dance."

"Yes Mistress Bobby." She says. "I got hit in the butt with a ball while being goalie in a soccer game and fell on my face." She admits with Bobby letting out a chuckle.

"That sounds like something that'd happen to you." She says, putting a hand to her face. "And it's Mistress Bearhug." She informs with a laugh, using Hoppy's earlier suggestion for fun.

"Yes Mistress Bearhug, thank you for correcting me." She says with the same goofy mindless smile and stare.

"Good. I think you're done dancing for now. Stop and give me a hug." She tells her, and Hoppy without any hesitation stopped in her tracks and came over before giving the girl a hug. A big one.

"Bear gets a bearhug." Bobby chuckles, giving the rabbit a big hug back. "Alright release." She says after a few minutes Hoppy quickly complied.

"Okay, now, I wanna try a little something." She says, putting a hand on her cheek. It was something she read somewhere and wanted to try out, see if it worked.

"Hoppy, when you wake up. If you hear anybody say 'Bunny Dance Time' you will instantly begin dancing no matter what until you're told to stop." Bobby tells her. Hoppy nods in confirmation.

Bobby smiles happily, excited to find that at least it seemed the post-hypnotic suggestion had successfully been put into her head. That was oddly simple, she thought it'd be harder. Maybe she could put one or two more in.

"Alright hm... When you hear anyone say 'Bunny Hop Up' you'll begin hopping on one foot until you're told too." She says, thinking she'll use that as a test drive after this.

Just like before the lime green rabbit gave an affinitive nod the same as before. Bobby hopped a little in excitement from it. Maybe one more for fun, but what? Hoppy is a bit of a tomboy so maybe...

Bobby smirks, she had a bit of an idea, maybe it was a little evil especially for the bear but she could disable it later.

"Hoppy last one. When you hear anybody say 'Girly Bunny Princess.' You'll act and believe you are a princess." She says, once more the mindless girl gave a nod.

"Are all those suggestions in your head?" She asks to confirm. Only a moment past before the answer came.

"Yes Mistress Bearhug, Everything is understood." She states. Bobby clasps her hands together hearing that, so it did work. She'd still have to test them later though.

"Good. Last thing before I wake you. Do you love anyone?" She asks and gets an immediate response.

"I love all my friends, including you Mistress." She tells her. "I meant like a crush." Bobby clarifies. Bobby’s pendant seems to shine a little from her saying that

A minute passes "Would you mind if I don't Mistress?" She says with the bear giving a soft smile.

"Oh, you want it to be a secret?" She asks with the bunny nodding. "Awe, okay you don't have to tell me." The bear gives a small happy hop and wag of her tail.

Bobby's mind raced with thoughts of who Hoppy could have a crush on, Dogday, Kickin', Frowny, maybe even Bobby herself? No... that'd be silly, Why would Hoppy love her? especially like that?

After she calmed down a little from hearing that Hoppy may have a crush on someone she looked at the rabbit.

"Alright, I think it's time to bring you out of trance." She says, not really sure how to lift it. Bobby didn't really know how to snap her fingers well, that's what she heard was the normal way to lift a trance.

"Uh, when I touch your nose you'll instantly wake from trance." She speaks, a little unsure of herself but the rabbit understood and nodded so she may as well try it.

Bobby reached her hand over to her friend. Quickly touching the nose of the rabbit as it gave a little squeak, making her chuckle.

Hoppy's head fell a little as if she'd just fallen asleep again. A few seconds later the rabbit begins yawning, slowly lifting her head up as she did.

"Uhh..." She let out, beginning to stretch her arms above her head. "Ah... That felt nice." She says, getting a smile once she recovered and her eyes landed on her friend.

"Oh, glad you liked being in trance. Heard it feels good being in a trance." She says with a smile.

Hoppy chuckles "Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing that again sometime." She admits with a smile. "How long did it take me to fall under?" She asks curiously, her mind a little fuzzy.

"Oh, a few minutes. I literally had to tell you that you had to fall asleep." She says with a smile. Hoppy jumps up and pumps her arm into the arm.

"Awesome!" She says, happy that she lasted awhile before she fell into a trance. "Hey, what'd you make me do while asleep."

Bobby glanced back at the tree she sat at earlier, taking a step toward it while she spoke. "Just a few things to test it out, nothing major." She explains, walking toward the tree.

"What? Come on, I can't remember anything we did. At least give me something specific." The rabbit speaks, following the bear.

"Only making you run around and stuff, not a lot honestly." She says, it was a small lie but it was mostly true.

Hoppy sighs while Bobby picks up her book from under the tree.

"Really? Aw... okay." She whines. "What'd you expect me to do?"

"Well I thought you'd make me do something funny or something." She admits. "Well I did make you 'Bunny Hop Up' and around. The rest I'll tell you later."

Hoppy, put up one of her legs so she was only standing on one foot. The rabbit didn't even notice she did it.

"Fine, so... what now?" She says as Bobby looks at her, the bear smiling seeing the voice command seemed to have worked, though the bunny didn't know that.

"Why don't we see what the others are doing?" She says, walking a little away from the tree. Hoppy hopping over to her.

"Oh yeah, I guess we can." She says. "Not really sure if maybe Dogday or Kickin or Picky are open currently. We can go check though."

Bobby walks towards the trees surrounding the clearing with her friend hopping after her. "Or Frowny." She mentions, with the rabbit shaking her head.

"Maybe not him, still a little annoyed at him after that sleepover." She admits. Hopping up to her, switching up the foot she jumped on.

"Yeah, I guess you have a point." She says with a smile.

"You know I was thinking maybe I could hypnotize you sometime too?" She mentions, mainly to change the subject away from the fox.

"Hm... Maybe, guess you could try." She says, it would be an interesting experiment. The red bear wasn't sure if Hoppy's energetic personality would change anything.

Bobby glances over at Hoppy living up to her name and continuing to hop along behind the bear on one leg. She silently chuckles seeing Hoppy unknowingly doing what Bobby told her to do.

"Hey, Why are you hopping around like that?" The bear mentions bringing Hoppy's attention to what she was doing for the first time outside of subconsciously.

"Huh?" She says, looking at her feet. "Oh yeah, I guess I just thought it'd be fun." It sounded like she didn't really know herself, giving an explanation to herself as much as Bobby.

"You don't have to do that, you know." Bobby tells her, releasing the hypnotic suggestion from the rabbit's mind. Least for the moment.

"Oh yeah. It was getting a little tiring anyway." She admits, putting her raised leg down and standing like normal.

"Yeah, anyway let's go see if any of the others are up to anything." Bobby tells her, book in her arms. Hoppy nods rather excitedly as she rushes after the bear girl as both of them head back into their small town.
