“It’s not a good idea.” George plays with his empty glass. He wants to pour himself another one. He does. “No- Not right now. Not when I’m stuck here.”
“In Florida then?” Sapnap asks, and it sounds a little hopeful. George doesn’t know why suddenly Sapnap is in the dnf corner, but he doesn’t question it. He feels like he’s not ready for a real answer.
He looks at Sapnap and tries to communicate that he wants to tell Dream, but the unknown of the situation terrifies him.
Dream feels like an ocean in the middle of a quiet night. George knows how to swim and he can see the calm water, but jumping into it is still terrifying. What if it’s too deep, or too cold. What if there are sharp rocks under his feet. What if the darkness makes him imagine things.
And maybe, just maybe, Florida’s sun will reveal that the waves are crystal clear.
