Yoshiki was feeling down, resting on a bench in the train station while he waited for his family. He was happy he will get to see his parents and little sister after so long, but it was also planned that 'Hikaru' would come with them, yet, in the last day, he said he wouldn't be able to.
The moment he heard the announcement of the arrival of the train he waited for, he received a text from Kaoru, letting him know that they were there.
He stood up as he saw the train stop, looking through the crowd of people leaving the train until he spotted his family. He didn't wait to join them.
All four were as excited to be reunited again, he gave everyone tight hugs, letting them know how much he missed them. The distance seemed to have helped him become more vocal about his feelings.
"How is everything going ? You seem to have lost weight ."
His mom, despite being this strong spirited woman, still was a mother in the end of the day, she couldn't help but notice the smallest changes, worrying for her child.
"He has also gotten taller ."
His dad added, which explained why Yoshiki seemed like he lost little weight, Kaoru frowned when her brother ruffled her hair, smiling at her.
"Ya also grew taller ."
"And ya still speak with yer accent, don't they pick up on ya for that ?"
"It ain't like i'm around kids, everyone around me are grown ups they don't mind such stuff ."
Kaoru was pouting, to her, it seemed like a curse to be the youngest in the family, no one seems to ever notice that she's growing up. The whole family chuckled at her until-
"Surprise !!!"
Yoshiki jumped from fear at the hands suddenly grabbing his shoulders, but at the sight of who these hands belonged to, fear was replaced with confusion, joy, excitement, also anger, it was a cocktail of emotions.
"What are ya- but- didn't ya say-"
"It was a trick and ya fell for it !"
'Hikaru' laughed and Yoshiki's family joining him in his laughers earned them a glare from their son, they seemed to be 'Hikaru's accomplices.
"Y'all are in it, aren't ya ?"
"He came to us last night and told us about his plan, so we decided to help him out ."
The mother was the first to confess their crime, her husband adding right after.
"Plus we wanted him to be a gift for ya ."
Yoshiki blushed at the comment, it wasn't like his father knew about his feelings, it was just the way he put it-
"So ? What's the plan for today ?"
'Hikaru' was the one to speak as they all walked out of the train station, he was by Yoshiki's side, and Yoshiki seemed to be too aware of their proximity considering his restlessness.
"We'll go visit some of the old places we have been to when we were here back in the day. You kids can go with Yoshiki and he'll make you visit around ."
They agreed for the time and place they should meet up then each group went his way. Yoshiki asked his guests where they wanted to go first and both shouted Animals ! making him chuckle.
"Okay then we'll start with the zoo, it ain't so far from here we just have to take one bus ."
Inside said bus, they took the seats all the way in the back, Kaoru was beside the window, gazing in awe at the crowded streets and tall buildings, everything was so different compared to their small village.
Yoshiki was sitting beside her, with 'Hikaru' on his right. He was yet again, focused on the non existent space between them.
'Hikaru' was never one to be aware of personal spaces in the first place, Yoshiki should be used to this yet- since they got into this long distance special relationship as they weren't dating yet, he seemed to become more and more aware of 'Hikaru's presence.
"I'm so happy i got to come and see ya ."
Yoshiki could feel 'Hikaru's breath on him as he whispered into his ear, which seemed to have a huge effect on him at the dark blush painting his cheeks, luckily, no one around was paying them attention. Kaoru was also of help as she grabbed her brother's shirt while staring out of the window.
"Everyone is so stylish in here ."
"Right ? Ya can find all the types here in Tokyo, there are many foreigners too ."
"Really ?? Even those blond Americans who seem all arrogant while speaking their English ??"
"That's just a stereotype, 'Hikaru', no one is like that ."
Yoshiki chuckled then went on to name all the different people he got to see since he came to Tokyo.
"I have seen some really tall ones, that was kinda intimidating ... there are many blonds and brunets, with blue, brown, green and gray eyes, there are the dark skinned ones, the redheads, but the one who fascinated me the most is a male foreigner in my compus whose eye color changes with the weather ."
"That's witchcraft-"
"It isn't ! It's natural for him, but apparently, it's a rare condition ."
'Hikaru' was adding his jokes now and then, while Kaoru was astonished by the conversation, this was a whole new world to her.
"Of course, the best part about Tokyo is that everyone is living their life, no one cares whether ya don't cut yer bangs, or didn't go to School, or don't have a girlfriend ."
"Then ya don't regret coming here ."
"I don't ."
'Hikaru' was happy for him, petting his shoulder. They soon reached their stop, not walking for too long until they were in their destination.
All three were excited, Yoshiki may have been in Tokyo, but he never got to go to the zoo, he knew he was about to enjoy it too.
The lions, tigers, foxes, zebras, all the animals were mesmerizing, especially to the siblings. 'Hikaru' on his side, was having fun copying some of the animals moves or sounds, making them laugh.
In fact, his attention was on Yoshiki the whole time.
Kaoru was the most delighted when she saw the pandas, but she couldn't approach their space with the crowd surrounding them.
Yoshiki could tell she wanted to have a closer view so he held her hand, pulling her to the crowd and the second he considered and panicked over the idea of holding 'Hikaru's hand so that they stick together, his sister beat him to it-
"Let's all go together ."
'Hikaru' grinned, letting her pull him with them, while Yoshiki cursed himself under his breath for hating his sister at that moment.
The pandas looked so silly, yet so cute, all three loved them and had a sudden urge to cuddle with them.
"I envy the workers who take care of them, they got the best jobs ."
Yoshiki considered looking for a job in a Zoo next, which is fitting for him as he was also studying to become a veterinarian.
The next space was for the elephants and they were just as amazing, but Yoshiki could never like them after that one incident.
'Hikaru' noticed him pouting and had to ask him about it, getting the most unexpected reply.
"Remember that time ya said it'd be the same for ya even if my soul was in an elephant ..."
It took 'Hikaru' a while to remember, which made him burst out in laughers.
"Ya seriously hate all elephants because of that ??? How do ya even remember that ?!"
Yoshiki was so annoyed, asking 'Hikaru' not to laugh so loudly. He didn't even notice his sister wasn't with them.
'Hikaru' suddenly switched to a serious expression, he was looking at the elephants and chose to be the most genuine about his feelings.
"I don't think that way anymore, it won't do if it ain't ya, it has to be yer soul in yer body, Yoshiki ."
Heart skipped a beat. Yoshiki didn't expect such a confession, in such a random place. He was in awe, blushing when his sister joined them with gifts.
"The black one is for Yoshiki, and the white one for 'Hikaru' ."
'Hikaru' LOVED the gift, he didn't wait a second to wear the white cat ears she got for him. Yoshiki was still trying to calm his heart while processing 'Hikaru's words while wearing the ears while questioning his sister- he was multitasking.
"Where did ya get these ?"
"Bought them there ."
She pointed at where she got them, it wasn't that far from them, but Yoshiki had to point out another detail.
"Why are the ones yar wearing different ?"
"They only had this pair of panda ears so i got ya two matching cat ears ."
"We gotta take pics and post them ! Thank ya Kaoru ."
'Hikaru' already had his phone in his hand, ready to take a selfie with the other two but as soon as he was done with it, he had his arm wrapped around Yoshiki's shoulders, pulling him closer.
"Now a pic of the kitties~"
Yoshiki was praying his blush didn't show in the picture. They carried their zoo visit, buying with them snacks to eat as they walked around.
"Why are bears shaped so cutely yet are so deadly ??"
'Hikaru' was the one making the observation, not minding Yoshiki who gave him the side glance as he thought "Look who's speaking ..."
When they bought ice cream, Kaoru enjoyed hers while Yoshiki noticed 'Hikaru' eyeing his and salivating.
"Ya can have some if ya want ..."
... and 'Hikaru' took the invitation right away, licking the ice cream and loving it's taste.
"Ya can try mine too !"
Yoshiki didn't think much of it first, he leaned in and licked the ice cream in 'Hikaru's hand then he looked up and- that was his mistake ... because here were their gazes locked, with no much space between them.
Both blushed and pulled away when they heard Kaoru's voice, they didn't even know what she said, they were busy panicking over what happened and 'Hikaru' going back to his ice cream, licking the exact spot Yoshiki licked earlier, didn't help at all.
"Is that an indirect kiss ????????" Yoshiki was dying.
The Zoo visit came to an end and they met with the parents before heading to their next destination, which was the Aquarium.
"Let's go see the penguins ."
Kaoru had her priorities when it came to animals. Yoshiki on his side, saw this as the best chance with the parents around.
"Then ya three go see the penguins while 'Hikaru' and i will go see the sharks, he's been wanting to see them for so long, right, 'Hikaru' ?"
'Hikaru' found himself lying and agreeing for Yoshiki's sake, he didn't know what it was about until they went on their way and Yoshiki spoke hesitantly.
"We're finally on our own ..."
'Hikaru's cheeks turned pink, he had a grin from ear to ear, he was so happy at the thought of Yoshiki wanting to be only with him.
"The sharks are quite scary ..."
Both were gazing at the tanks were swam the fish and big sharks, 'Hikaru' glaring at them then turning to Yoshiki.
"They won't stand a chance against me !"
"Sure ... ?"
"Why's he turning it to a competition ?" Yoshiki thought, the two of them continuing their walk, surely not missing the couples walking around while holding hands and being all lovey dovey.
Their next stop was the tank filled with jellyfish.
"Those are so pretty !!!"
"They're pretty deadly too ..."
"Really ?!"
"Most of them are poisonous ."
This didn't take away from 'Hikaru's astonishment. Yoshiki was glancing at him, saying the first question that popped in his mind.
"Can ya see their souls too ?"
"Yeah, but they're small and ugly ."
"That's mean ..."
"That doesn't change the fact that jellyfish are pretty ."
Yoshiki remembered what 'Hikaru' said earlier, it seemed like he was starting to give importance to the body as well, not the soul only.
"Though Yoshiki's the best cause he has the most beautiful soul and body ."
Yoshiki almost choked on his spit, never did he expect 'Hikaru' to ever call him beautiful- he was yet again blushing, the couples around them still holding hands, he wanted to hold 'Hikaru's hand too-
"Should i ... ask him-" when he glanced at him, loving his side profile way too much- he decided not to ask, he didn't have the guts, he just had to go for it, and pray it doesn't go south-
Heart beat faster as he approached his hand to 'Hikaru's, he didn't care about the people around, he only hoped not to get rejected.
He stared straight at the jellyfish in front of him, hand gently brushing 'Hikaru's, giving him all the time to question it, or push it away, but 'Hikaru' didn't, he stood still which was the signal Yoshiki needed to fully hold his hand.
Both were blushing like mad, Yoshiki's heart stopping for a moment when 'Hikaru' held his hand back.
"I'm such a virgin ..." Yoshiki thought at how much he was panicking over simply holding hands. He wanted to know how 'Hikaru' felt about it as well. He decided to steal a glance, only to find that 'Hikaru' was also glancing at him, both quickly staring away.
"Fuck- i'm so nervous my hand is sweating ..." Yoshiki wanted to let go when he felt his hand get wet, but 'Hikaru' held it tighter. They both looked at each other, they had so much to say, to scream- which could all be summarized in three simple words ...
But Yoshiki's phone had to ring, ruining the moment. They both panicked and let go, Yoshiki replying and letting his father know where they should meet.

"We're already going home ???"
Kaoru was not happy about the news, but her parents convinced her that it was getting too late and they had to go back.
"But we didn't even get to go to the amusement park ..."
"We'll comeback and go there, promise ."
Kaoru could only trust her father's words, heading with her parents back to the train station while Yoshiki and 'Hikaru' walked in the back, still daydreaming about the time their hands connected.
"Did ya .. talk to yer mother about coming here ?"
"I did ."
"What did she say ?"
"She said if this is what i truly want then i should go for it ."
"She's so kind ..." part of Yoshiki felt guilty for separating mother and son, but he has always been selfish, he also needed 'Hikaru' for himself.
"How about ya ? What do ya think of Tokyo after today's visit ?"
"It's perfect, since it has ya ."
'Hikaru' gave him the most adorable grin, Yoshiki felt himself falling in love all over again, thinking of it now, holding hands was definitely not the only thing he wanted them to do.
They were all together again once they reached the station, they were done with their goodbyes, parents giving their son their advices, ready to part ways when Yoshiki spoke.
" 'Hikaru' ... is also going to move to Tokyo, we'll be living together ."
Hearing Yoshiki talk about it with someone who wasn't him meant the world to 'Hikaru', he was the happiest.
His parents were also happy about it, at least Yoshiki won't be on his own anymore. Yoshiki wondered whether his parents would be so accepting of the idea if they knew what their real relationship was about ...
He gave his family tight hugs again, he knew he won't be seeing them for months, 'Hikaru' was the last in the line, the two boys hugging, loving each other's warmth, wishing they could feel more of it, all of it-
"I'll give ya the tightest hugs once i move in with ya ."
'Hikaru's whispers to Yoshiki's ear made his heart flutter inside his chest, though, his mind went further, hugs could never be enough, he wanted more, way more, he was afraid of 'Hikaru's reaction if he ever found out what he truly wanted ...
They waved at him behind the closed doors of the train, Yoshiki and Hikaru's gazes locked like magnets as they both looked forward to living together.
