Work Text:

Eliot had two marks on him. They were both younger than him. One much more than the other. But neither so much younger for it to be difficult for him to accept. Not that he would ever accept a soulmate into his life. It was too dangerous. The small yellow flower was easy to hide in the crook of his elbow. All it took was a longer sleeve or a rag wrapped around it. The bright purple elephant on his stomach was a bit harder to hide but he always somehow managed to. Even from his teammates when they worked.

Parker had been born with the purple elephant on the bottom of her foot. She knew that it meant she had a soulmate that was older than her. When she was young she often looked at it and wondered what the other person was like. Then she was on her own and no longer cared. Nor did she notice right away when the blue star appeared on the back of her knee. It joined the elephant as something she knew was there but didn't think about. Only once she was becoming a grifter and needed to cover them did she.

Hardison loved his soulmarks. They had been with him his whole life and they were a constant reminder that there was not only one but two people out in the world that would always love him. The little yellow flower was easy to hide where it sat on his side. And the blue star while harder to hide on his wrist, he eventually learned that a watch was the perfect thing to cover it. It was important not to let them show and become a risk to his soulmates. There had to be a reason Eliot and Parker hid theirs.
