She is no Jedi, not any more. Or maybe there’s…???
“Jedi, go ahead! Fight me!”
Morgan’s voice was condescending, bating perhaps. Wanting Ahsoka to draw her weapon first.
Alas, Ahsoka, was no tin the mood, not now. As she had a mission to complete. A mission involving Morgan Elsbeth and her, well, special skills.
“I, am no Jedi. You keep forgetting that, Morgan.”
Morgan looked surprised enough. First off, there was no fire in Ahsoka, nothing like there had been before, Ahsoka always having been ready to rip Morgan a new one. And well, Morgan knew all about Ahsoka’s past. Her having left the Order a long time ago.
Guess it had always been more of a taunt calling Ahsoka Tano a Jedi more than anything else.
Morgan seemed to contemplate for a moment. Coming to a decision quickly enough, as there was no fun if the opponent was not in the mood for a fight, let alone for a few throw backs.
“I don’t. But, guess there is a reason for you being here?”
“There is. I… we are in need of your skills.”
Morgan really was surprised now. Not really sure how to take this, turn of events.
True, she had fallen out of favour from Thrawn and her own kind. Ever since their return from Peridea. Morgan having made a few choices moves and so, she was no longer a part of whatever dealings the Nightsisters and the Admiral had.
And guess, she really could use the distraction. Even if it was not in her benefit, or maybe it was?
“So, what did you have in mind, Jedi?”
Yeah, old habits really died hard.
“Well, there is a place we need to get into…”
“An undercover mission.”
“Sort of. And it involves a lot of mind tricks as well. And you can do those.”
“I can, if persuaded to.”
“Well, we are willing to compensate you for your services.”
After having learnt Morgan was a free agent now, Ahsoka and the rest of her team had thought of her immediately when this particular op had popped on their radar.
“Well, then guess I am an your disposal then.” As how could she refuse. She needed the credits and guess she had nothing better to do.
“There is a catch though.”
“Oh, well, there always is, isn’t there.”
“Yeah, well this one, is a doozy. As… well, we need to go in there are a married couple.”
Morgan’s eyes flew wide of this particular plot point. Alas, she wasn’t exactly opposed to playing along either. With Ahsoka Tano. Giving the “Jedi” a once over as she was seemingly contemplating the revelation.
“Well, then, my wife, we better get plotting then, haven’t we.”
Morgan was positively beaming, as sometimes the Force truly worked in mysterious ways, shining a light into the darkest of corners.
