Work Text:

“She was always the one.”

Perhaps love and fate are cruel. Cruel enough to bring together two people who are so right for each other, and yet the timing is so wrong. Still, they progress. It’s tough, it’s going to be tough. No relationship goes down in history as being ‘easy’. I mean Osamu Dazai cheated on his wife just to kill himself with this other chick..now teenage girls want him!

Love is never easy.

Is that why he cannot stop staring? Staring at the one woman who’s taken his heart and won’t give it back? Oh how beautiful she is up on her throne, how Kinich wishes he could sit next to her…be just as amazing as Mavuika is.

Day after day, it’s like he couldn’t get a rest! Mavuika always seems busy, as if she never has time anymore. Time for him. It’s always meeting after meeting over and over again, never-ending. Was it selfish for him to wish she was all his? These thoughts plagued Kiniches mind each night, maybe if Mavuika was never the Archon in the first place.

Kinich would never admit those out loud despite his feelings. Mavuika enjoys her role as the God of war, and Kinich wouldn't do anything to diminish that happiness.

Was this what selflessness feels like? Giving up his happiness just to see that smile on her face one more time. Is this right?

An Archons job comes first, that's never left Kiniches mind since he met her. So why is he so perplexed. Does he even have a say? Are his feelings out of place for how insignificant he is compared to her? Social status and reputation are everything in this world. How could he just ask the love of his life to leave behind everything she knows, everything she's worked so hard for. In the end, what would that accomplish? His happiness? Mavuikas company? That's so..pathetic. A pathetic and selfish need.

Kinich is a pathetic man

Maybe that's all he’ll ever be, but he can see it. In her eyes. Mavuika doesn't see him that way..so why would he ruin it?

He can't. No matter how much it hurts him, no matter how many nights he prays to some celestial being she’ll choose him over the life she has.

Kinich won't say a word. After all, he's just…

Not that important.

Notes:

Hopefully, my husband never sees this It's literally a vent fic.
