It was a bit of a snowy day in the Kanto region.
As Goh walks over to a snowy area that has trees and a giant icy lake in it.
But for some reason he looked a bit angry as he pulls out 2 pokeballs from his bags.
Even his Grookey was a bit worried about him.
“This shall prove you wrong.” He said silently but angry.
Why was he angry?
Why’s he all by himself with only his pokemons.
And where the hell is Ash?
Well, here’s your answer.

Flashback-
Professor Cerise was just checking on the 3 Kantonian Starter Pokemons,
When suddenly he hears the door open and sees that Ash and Goh are back from their trip.
But were a bit angry with each other for some reason.
So he decides to check up on them to see if everything between the two is ok.
“Hey there my two research fellows, how was the trip in Hoenn?” Professor Cerise asked.
“Oh it was fine. Right until Goh ruined it!” Ash said angrily.
“What do you mean I ruined it?” Goh asked.
“Look, the reason why he had to go home early is because you tried to catch that Walrein while it was using ice beam. Which so happens to freeze the pokeball.” Ash replied angrily.
“I was looking for new pokemons to catch. Can you really blame me?” Goh asked angrily.
“Yes of course I blame you, because that was a stupid catching method you try to do!” Ash replied angrily.
“Well at least I’m not wearing that awful cap and clothes that looks like your wearing pyjamas!” Goh said angrily. {which is ironic since Ash’s journeys shir looks exactly like his pyjamas from XY}
“Well at least I wear different clothes unlike your cruddy black jumper and those stupid shoes!” Ash said angrily.
“Well at least I’m actually committing to catching every singly pokemons in the world!” Goh said angrily.
“Well at least I train my pokemons so that they can do good in battles. Unlike you who never trains them!” Ash said angrily.
And so the arguing between goes on and on to the point that Professor Cerise {including both Ren and Chrysa} started to become worried about the two.
As they had been best friends.
But it seems like not anymore.
As after a few minutes of arguing later, Ash angrily heads to the bedroom.
Where Goh tells him one final thing.
“We’re no longer friends!” He said angrily.
“Well fine with me!” Ash also said angrily.
And after Ash slams the door really hard,
Professor Cerise tries to have a talk with Goh.
But it was too late as the 10 year old boy runs out of Cerise Laboratory and into the unknown.
End of flashback-

After standing on the icy lake for a few minutes now,
Goh summons his 2 pokemons.
That being his Cinderace and his newly caught Alolan Vulpix.
But their both confused about what their doing here, so Goh tells them.
“Alright guys, wanna help me perfect this catching method? It’s basically a firey pokeball going through ice beam which would successfully catch the pokemon who has that move.” He said while showing them the footage on his Rotom Phone.
Which they accept,
And so the training begins.
The first attempt didn’t work well.
As Cinderace kicked the pokeball like it was a soccer ball until it combusts into flames.
And then it kicks it to Alolan Vulpix who uses ice beam.
And even though the pokeball was on fire, it didn’t take too long until it turned into ashes and fall onto the icy lake.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be able to perfect it after many attempts.” Goh said happily to his pokeballs.
And so they repeat the process, over and over and over and over and over again with zero success.
With more of the burnt pokeballs landing on the icy lake.
Until eventually they were able to land a successful one.
As after it was able to go through the ice beam,
The pokeball bonks Alolan Vulpix in the head causing it to go down.
And even though Goh was a bit sorry for hurting his pokemons.
At least he was able to prove Ash wrong and had that catching method be successful.
“Yes we did it! Take that Ash, who’s catching method is stupid now?” Goh said happily.
But then while they were all celebrating,
The burnt remains of all of the pokeballs were starting to melt the ice.
Not only that but they were also starting to break.
Which Goh realises when he sees the cracks on the icy floor.
And so realising that he just putted his pokemons in danger.
He told Cinderace to get both Grookey and Alolan Vulpix out of here.
And after it did just that, he also attempted to get off the icy lake himself.
But it was too late as after one wrong step on the cracks.
The 10 year old boy falls through the ice and into the water.
Much to the other pokemons’ worries for him.

Jesus Christ! He didn’t expected the water to be this fucking cold!
But upon realising that he hadn’t had time to hold his breathe when he fell in.
Goh tried to swim back to the surface.
Only to see that the ice has covered the entrance again.
So he tried to bang on it in order for the ice to break again.
And although Cinderace also tried to help by using it;s flame body ability to melt the ice. {which btw is just what ability I would give to Goh’s Cinderace since it had none in the actual anime.}
And Grookey being told by Vulpix to go find someone to save him.
The ice was too thick for it to be melted.
And it didn’t matter that much as after 1 minute later.
Goh released all of the airs he had in his lungs and started to inhale water.
This terrifies him as he doesn’t want to die.
He’s only a 10 year old boy with friends and families.
And speaking of friends, he started to think about Ash while losing conscious.
As he started to feel really guilty about having that arguement with him and telling him that their no longer friends.
So after the inhaling stops, Goh began to sink to the ground.
And while he starts to black out, the last thoughts he had were.
“I’m sorry Ash, for the fight we had. And I’m sorry for saying that we’re not friends again.”
“Please forgive me.”

Meanwhile-
Ash and his Pikachu were busy walking through the streets of Vermillion City trying to contact Goh on his Rotom Phone.
But every time he tries to call his friend, he keeps getting the message that the person he’s trying to call in unavailable.
Until eventually he gives up and decides to head back to the cerise laboratory.
But not before he runs into Chloe and her Eevee.
“Hey Chloe what you doing?” He asked.
“Oh just going on a jog with Eevee. It’s basically what I do after school everyday. What are you doing here?” Chloe asked as well.
“Well today, me and Goh had a really big fight and we both declared that we’re no longer friends. But an hour later, I started to feel guilty about what i said to him and his catching methods. So when I went out to apologise to him, he was gone. The other professors told me that he had run off to some place but they didn’t know where that is. So I decided that the best option was to call him, but right now I’m not having the best luck.” Ash replied.
“I’m sure he’ll turn up just fine and also feeling guilty about being angry at you too.” Chloe said.
“Yeah, I guess your right. After all even though he’s a bit stubborn in his dreams. He’s still my friend.” Ash said.
But then the two of them see something in the distance and it’s actually running towards them.
But when they get a closer look, turns out it’s Goh’s Grookey running towards them in fears.
And when they hear what’s going on.
They realise that Goh might be in danger.
So they both follow it to where their friend might be.

After arriving at the place where Grookey took them too.
Not only do they see Alolan Vulpix looking very concerned.
But they also see Cinderace trying to Melt the ice while crying.
So Ash decides to check it out and see what the Striker Pokemon is crying about.
Only for both him and Pikachu to see something that horrified them.
As it turns out to be Goh underneath the ice and have already drowned.
“Goh no!” Ash said with a scared tone of voice.
So he joins Cinderace in trying to break the ice with the help of Pikachu. {who uses thunderbolt on the ice.}
And thankfully all of that hard work causes the ice to finally break.
Leading to Ash to jump into the water and save his friend.
With both Chloe and Eevee hoping that their friends will be ok.

Upon swimming in the water, Ash sees his friend lying on the ground and sees that he had indeed drowned.
With his Boyd being motionless, his eyes being pale and his lips turning blue because of the cold.
So Ash waste no time, grabbing his friend from the back and swimming back to the surface.
Hoping that his friend is still alive.
And thankfully he was able to resurface before the ice started to re-seal the opening of it.
And then.
{SPLASH!}

Upon reaching the surface,
Ash was helped by Chloe who was able to bring both him and Goh back onto the ice.
And after he catches his breathe, Ash smiles at his other friend.
“Thanks Chloe. Now come on, let’s get him off the ice and check if he’s alive.” Ash said.
And so once they do that.
Ash tried numerous attempt to wake up Goh.
By either shaking him or smacking him in the cheeks lightly.
Until eventually he decided to check his friend’s pulse through the neck and his palms.
Only to be horrified by the fact that his friend has none.
And when both Chloe and Eevee looked at him with a concerned look on their face.
He decides to tell them what’s actually going on.
“Chloe, I don’t want to alarm you and Eevee. But Goh isn’t unconscious.”
“He’s dead.”

Upon this realisation, shit hits the fan.
As now everyone’s panicking about it.
Including some of the wild pokemons in the area {who were actually secretly watching the training that Goh did}
What are they going to do now that he’s dead?
But that was when Ash had an idea.
An idea that he hopes will bring Goh back to life.
“Chloe, stay back. I’m gonna perform CPR on him to hopefully make him breathe again.” Ash said to his other friend.
So both Chloe and her Eevee watches on nervously as the first step Ash did was the chest compressions.
He was able to keep up with the rhythm of it while also thinking of song that works well with that step.
But despite doing chest compressions on his friend, Goh didn’t wake up.
So Ash moves onto the next step which is the mouth-to-mouth.
But at least he wasn’t nervous about this.
As he was determined to bring his friend back to life rather then being embarrassed about it. {which yeah Mouth-To-Mouth almost looks like a kiss.}
But despite doing it 3 times, Goh still didn’t are up.
So Ash repeats the cycle of it.
But as time goes on, it seems like that his friend was truly gone for good.
But he wasn’t going to give up just yet.
“Come on Goh, your stronger then this. We both have a dream remember? And we both promised each other that we would support each other’s dreams. Mine was competing in the World Coronation Series and defeating Leon. While your dream was catching every single pokemons including Mew. So please I beg of you, wake up! Please!” Ash said in a scared tone of voice as he also starts to cry.
Until eventually he stops, as he realises that even CPR wouldn’t bring his friend back to life.
So he decides to do the next best option: electrocuting Goh’s heart.
So Ash takes off his friend’s jacket and shirt in order for the process to begin.
And even though Chloe and Eevee were confused about seeing their other friend shirtless.
They trusted Ash to save him.
And then after that he looks at Pikachu with a determined look on his face.
“Pikachu, your gonna act like a defibrillator and electrocute Goh’s heart. Look I know it’s scary and risky. But I’m willing to risk it to save my friend. So Pikachu use static bolt on him please.” Ash said to his partner.
And so just like that, Pikachu walks up to Goh, puts it’s hands on him and delivers a static bolt to his heart.
But despite this, Goh was still not working.
“It’s ok, I’m sure he’ll wake up after a few more attempts. So do it again!” Ash said to his partner.
So Pikachu electrocutes Goh again.
But despite that, he still didn’t wake up.
So Pikachu kept electrocuting him again and again and again.
And upon seeing their friends trying so desperately to save their other friend.
It was enough to cause both Chloe and Eevee to start crying too.
“Come on Goh, please come back to us!” Chloe said in a upset tone of voice.
But due to how long it’s taking.
It seems hopeless…..
Until
“Pikachu!”
{ZAP!!!}

{GASP!}
Just when hope seems lost.
It actually worked.
As Goh regained consciousness and started to cough up a bunch of water from his lungs.
With both Ash and Chloe being really happy that their friend is still alive.
But since he was underwater for too long,
The coughing did sounded a lot raspy and harsh,
Which causes Ash to feel bad about him, so helps him cough up more water by rubbing his back.
Until eventually Goh goes back to breathing normally.
But despite that, it was pretty clear that it was gonna take some time before his eyes would focus again.
But that’s not all.
As both Chloe and Ash realises that sicne the water was extremely cold,
Goh had accidentally caught a extreme case of hypothermia.
With him shivering a lot, his lips still being blue, his skin still being pain and his breathing was cold too.
But thankfully Chloe has an idea that just might help.
“Hey Ash would it be ok if I took both you and Goh to my house for the night?” She asked.
“Yeah, hopefully by then, Goh will start to warm up.” Ash replied.
And so they all head to the Cerise Residence.
While Cinderace tried it’s best to warm Goh up by using it’s flame body ability on him.

Upon arriving at the house, Chloe knocked on the door.
And the first one who answers it is her little brother Parker,
Who sees what happened to his sister and her friends.
“Hey mum, Chloe’s back with her friends.” He said.
And upon hearing it, their mother comes to see this.
“Oh my, what happened to that boy?” Chloe’s mom asked in a worried tone of voice.
“Goh fell into a icy lake and got hypothermia. Would it be ok if we stay at your house Mrs Cerise?” Ash asked.
“Sure any friends of Chloe’s are welcome here.” Chloe’s mom replied happily.
And so after they head to the living room.
Parker helped Chloe with wrapping Goh in warm blankets and keeping the fire in the fireplace burning.
While their mom calls the hospital so that they can check on Goh and see if he needs to go there or not.
But while waiting for it, Goh finally wakes up, much to Ash’s relief.
And upon seeing that Ash is here, he starts to feel really guilty about the fight they had.
So he has a chat with his friend.
“Ash, I’m sorry for the argument we had, for insulting you and for saying we shouldn’t be friends anymore. I didn’t realised that you were just looking out for me and you were right about the method of catching a pokemon while it’s using ice beam being stupid. And I now realise that I messed up big time. Please forgive me.” Goh said in a sad tone of voice.
Upon hearing this Ash gives him a smile.
“It’s alright. As sometimes you can’t just use the same method of catching pokemons. And there’s some pokemons that you need to battle in order to catch. I’m also sorry for insulting you too.” Ash said happily.
“So does that mean we’re friends again?” Goh asked.
“Yes Goh. We are friends again.” Ash replied happily.
And so the 2 boys share a hug with each other {with both Pikachu and Grookey also giving each other a hug as their happy their trainers are now friends wth each other again.}
And they would continue to do that until eventually the ambulance arrives to check on Goh.
And even though Ash worries that his friend might end up in the hospital due to his hypothermia or not.
He would still visit him if it is the right answer.
As no matter what happens to one of them,
They’ll always be friends who have the future in the palms of their hands.
