   Summary

   For one-thousand, nine-hundred and ninety-seven years, Belet-Balati has withstood the terrors of the Dark Cells. It falls to this lone Shadowkeeper to guard the eighty-first level, the very bottom, where the Emperor's darkest secrets and deadliest foes are contained.

   When the Battle of the Lion's Gate, and the opening of the Great Rift, sees five of those cells opened, Belet-Balati must embark on a galaxy-spanning question to see them either eliminated, or returned to confinement.

   However, in this quest, the Warden finds unexpected help. Help in the form of perhaps the direst denizen of the Dark Cells. And both must grapple with the implications of its return to the Imperium...
