Chapter Text
Bruce would be the first to admit he has issues, his paranoia being one of the top ones. What he doesn’t want to realize is that it's not enough.
With the manor filled with all the kids, it became a habit for Bruce to stalk through the halls and attempt to find all its inhabitants.
Except. Dick was in Bludhaven most weekdays. Jason was living off the grid for days on end. Tim disappeared for most hours. And unless Damian had built an addition to the manor, he was never there - but when Bruce turned around Damian was always back.
While the kids checked in with him often, more than enough compared to what the other leaguers said, there was always a thrum of panic when he didn’t know where everyone was.
The practical solutions were trackers. But Jason refused even one in the Red Hood suit, Tim hacked any he found, and Dick had a habit of cutting any he found out- null the one in his Nightwing suit.
So check-ins were the only option, although Dick forgot to sometimes or Jason doesn’t respond when he’s in a mood.
It was a long week. Dick didn’t check in for 3 days and came back with bruising all over his chest, Jason was avoiding him and his check-ins, Tim’s Red Robin check-in had him located in Titans Tower even though Bruce knew it was under construction, and Damian told him he was in his bedroom when he searched the entire manor looking for him.
And Bruce was tired. He knew what came with fatherhood. Hell, he had read over a dozen parenting books when Dick had first come to the manor. But surely the fact that he never knew where his kids were was an issue more than he faced. It wasn’t even a vigilante thing sometimes.
So before he tried to slip trackers on his children - again- he researched. And found a possible solution.
Life360.
Yes, it was a tracker. But it was a simple tracker only on his kid's phones. He wouldn’t try to hide it. He would simply say it was for everyone's convenience. Use the fact that they could limit check-ins and that he wasn’t hiding it to convince them.
And if that failed use Alfred.
