Work Text:
Alex had just graduated from college alongside his sister Carol and her high school sweetheart, Helen. They were his very best friends, and both of them had plans of becoming teachers. Alex, however, knew his destiny lay elsewhere. He wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a star! To be marveled and adored on the big screen for everyone to see! So despite his sister's reluctance to let him go, she knew her brother more than anyone else, and acting was the only time she saw him be genuinely happy. Their parents had never been supportive of their… choices, so she needed to be there for her brother.
"You be careful out there, okay?" Carol said as she fixed Alex's tie and looked her brother in the eyes. "It's a tough industry, Alex. And LA is a bit... well."
Alex chuckled, pulling his sister in for a hug. Helen was right beside them and patted him on the shoulder before they pulled away.
"I'll be careful, Carol. Don't worry too much.”
Carol smiled at him sadly. "If you need anything, anything at all, Helen and I are just a phone call away, alright?"
Alex nodded, bending down to grab his bag.
"Take care of yourself, Alex." Helen said, wrapping an arm around Carol's waist. "No need to worry about your sister. She's in good hands~"
Carol blushed, lightly smacking Helen's hand.
"Oh shush you."
Once they bid their final farewells, Alex hugged them both one more time before heading out the house and taking a bus to LA.
Unbeknownst to the wild journey that awaited him.
Alex didn't have a lot of cash on him when he left, but he was at least able to afford a small apartment and buy himself enough food for each week. Everyday, he'd set out to look for roles he could audition for. And when that wasn't working, he pulled out his trusty video camera and began making films himself, in hopes that someone would notice his work online.
He had actually been in the middle of shooting himself in a diner when someone had slid into the seat across from him.
"Um, do you mind?" Alex said, hitting pause on his video camera to look at the person who interrupted his scene. When his eyes caught sight of the attractive man with luscious long hair staring back at him with such eagerness and interest, his heart skipped a beat because ohmygoood... was this love at first sight?
"Oh please, don't stop on my account. You can just pretend I'm not here." The man grinned, resting his chin on his palm as he continued to stare at Alex with that ridiculously handsome smile.
Alex opened his mouth to speak, but no words were coming out. He'd been rendered speechless by this mere stranger! And it seemed the stranger noticed, because he then let out an amused chuckle.
"Listen, how about you take five and I order us some food? My treat!"
Alex wasn't sure what compelled him to agree, but he wasn't going to complain.
Who was he to turn down free food?
And with the bonus of having it with prince charming over there.
The stranger returned with their food, and Alex finally mustered up enough courage to ask for this stranger's name.
"Oh, shit. How rude of me!" The man laughed. "The name's Luxy Leroy!" He said and held out his hand.
Alex looked at his hand for a second before clearing his throat and politely accepting it.
"Alex Rimmer." He introduced himself as they shook hands.
"A real pleasure to make your acquaintance, Alex." Luxy stared at him with those mesmerizing eyes, and Alex felt like he was being hypnotized.
They ate and conversed for who knows how long. At one point, Luxy had even borrowed his camera to take a couple of videos of them together. Luxy truly was...something. Alex couldn't stop staring at him. He was so sweet, and charming, and funny... It was no wonder Alex accepted his invitation to stay the night at his place for a private one-night only show performance of Cell Block Tango.
Alex obviously knew he had it coming.
And Luxy certainly had him coming for all six verses.
It was unfortunate Alex couldn't stay for an encore, but he had an important audition the following morning and needed to get his head back in the game. So when he woke up the next day, he quickly got dressed and grabbed his camera from the nightstand. And while he took a cab back to his apartment, he couldn't help but smile as he replayed the videos Luxy had taken of them back at the diner.
The second he arrived back at his apartment, Alex rushed to get ready because he was already running late for his audition. He ran out looking a bit disheveled as he desperately tried hailing for a cab. He felt like the universe was against him because he was being flat out ignored by several drivers.
But then luck was back on his side when someone whistled for his attention.
"Hey there, pretty fella. You need a lift?" A handsome man with glasses asked while leaning against what Alex guessed was his own car.
Now, Alex normally wouldn't accept a ride from a complete stranger. But he was running late for his audition! And the guy looked nice enough and was unbelievably attractive– ALEX COME ON FOCUS!
"Please, I'll pay you however much you need if you can get me to this location in under 10 minutes."
The stranger hummed and nodded, opening up the passenger seat for Alex.
"Well then, hop on in...?"
"Alex. Alex Rimmer." Alex answered as he got into the vehicle. The stranger got in as well and started the car.
"Nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Flint Dicker." Flint introduced himself and smirked. "Buckle up now, doll. Let's get you to your audition."
Alex had never felt more scared in his life as Flint sped through the streets and got him to his audition in record time. He scrambled to pull out his wallet, but he was stopped by Flint placing a hand on his shoulder.
"No need to pay for the ride."
Alex frowned.
"But–"
Flint shushed him and placed a finger between Alex's lips to shut him up.
Alex blushed, while Flint shot him a cheeky smile.
"How about this: if you nail your audition, you owe me a lunch date. Sound good?"
Alex smiled and nodded.
"Right then." Flint reached over and opened the door for Alex, shooting him a wink. "Go in there and break a leg!"
Alex arrived just in time for his audition. But despite Alex giving it his all and acting his ass off, the role was given to someone else, and it devastated him.
He walked out of the building in shame, but then noticed a familiar car still parked outside with the same man leaning over its trunk.
Alex's heart skipped a beat once more.
Flint had waited for him.
Noticing the sad look on Alex's face, Flint ran over to him and gave his shoulder a comforting squeeze. Alex hung his head low, too ashamed to face Flint. The other man suddenly surprised him by pulling him in for a hug, and Alex instantly melted into his arms.
"You know... I'd still like to have that lunch date with you.”
Alex felt himself smile as he closed his eyes and basked in the warmth of their hug.
"Yeah... I'd like that, too."
Flint had taken him out to lunch at, funnily enough, the same diner he met Luxy in. They ate and talked and overall just enjoyed each other's company. Unlike with Luxy, things with Flint developed at a much slower pace. The thought of sex hadn't even crossed Alex's mind until their third meeting, where Flint revealed he had to leave for an important trip out of state. That night, the two had made love in Flint's car. If Alex thought Flint's driving was fast... well, he had to make a point to show Flint that his riding skills were even faster.
And when the time came for them to finally say goodbye, they agreed to move on with their lives and wished each other the best of luck, not knowing if they'll ever see each other again.
Alex looked down at his camera with a sigh. All he had left were the memories he had with Flint stored in his mind and preserved in his camera.
But then he saw the video of himself and Luxy, and it made Alex miss him, too. He wondered if Luxy was still around. And he wondered if maybe... just maybe... they could be together again.
He was wrong.
Not because Luxy wasn't anywhere to be found, but because he had to find out that the man he'd slept with one night was actually already engaged.
"Alex, please, just let me explain!"
Alex had gone back to the diner where they met in hopes that Luxy would show up. And he did. But this time he had an engagement ring on his finger and guilt written all over his face.
The whole time Luxy tried to explain himself, Alex felt so sick to his stomach. He almost ruined a relationship! He didn't care if it was arranged, or if he and his fiancé didn't like each other. Luxy still lied, and it tore his heart to pieces.
"I don't want to see you ever again."
"Alex, no, please!"
Alex ignored him as he rushed out of the diner in tears.
Alex had lost all hope that day. It pained him to stay and be reminded of what he'd lost and how much he's failed. So he packed up his bags, said goodbye to his dreams, and took a bus back home.
When Carol opened the door to find her brother back on her doorstep with tears streaming down his face, she immediately wrapped him up in her arms and let him cry as he told her everything.
"Oh, Alex... I'm so sorry."
As Carol ushered him inside while Helen took his bags, Alex suddenly felt bile rise up his throat and he dashed for the bathroom. Carol and Helen found him hunched over the toilet bowl emptying his stomach. When he had nothing left to throw up, Alex just slumped over and cried. Carol kneeled down next to him and rubbed his back soothingly, letting him cry on her shoulder until he was thoroughly exhausted and fell asleep, still sniffling. Helen then came over and flushed the toilet bowl before taking Alex out of Carol's hands to put the poor boy in their spare bedroom.
Carol gently ran her fingers through her brother's hair as she sat next to him on his bed. Her heart ached seeing him so broken even in his sleep. Helen was leaning on the doorway with crossed arms, staring at Alex in concern.
"Angel, how long ago did Alex say he had sex with those guys?"
Carol momentarily paused, looking down at her poor brother with a frown.
"Two... maybe three weeks ago? Why?" She turned to her partner worriedly.
"You don't think he might be...?" Helen trailed off, but she didn't need to finish her sentence as Carol understood. And it scared her.
Not for herself, but for her brother.
What would Alex think if he were to find out he was carrying the child of one of his flings? One of which he swore he'd never want to see again?
"Hey, we'll be here for him, okay?" Helen softly said as she knelt down next to the bed in front of Carol, holding her free hand. "He's not alone, angel."
And it was the truth.
Alex indeed turned out to be pregnant, and he'd broken down again when he found out. Carol and Helen reassured him that things will be okay, and that they would be there to support him in whatever decision he chose.
"Do you want to keep it?" Carol asked the question on everyone's mind.
Alex sniffed, placing his hands on his currently flat stomach. The child would be a constant reminder of what he'd lost and what he could've been... But he couldn't bring himself to terminate an innocent life, no matter how painful it would be to see them everyday. They were a part of him, too Alex reminded himself. Even if they inherited Luxy's eyes or Flint's smile, his child would solely be his to nurture and care for (with the additional help of their aunts, of course).
His dream had always been to have his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But he soon realized he didn't need one anymore the day he finally gave birth and held the most precious star of all.
His daughter.
His darling Felicity.
And he was determined to make sure she would be able to achieve her own dreams.
Even if that meant having to reunite with two past lovers for her wedding day.
—
20 years later…
"Fel, are you sure this is a good idea?" Samantha asked her fiancé as she watched Felicity seal the two letters she had written the night before.
"Sam, come on, what's the harm in inviting two random men to our wedding?"
Samantha gave her a pointed look.
"...okay, that does sound a bit concerning, but what makes it less weird is the fact one of them could be my biological father!"
"How are you even sure they could be your dad?"
Felicity shot her a sly smile as she pulled out an old video camera from her drawer.
"I found this in a box full of my mama's old stuff. It has video clips of him with two other guys – both of which have introduced themselves in the videos they're in." Felicity said proudly. "You can see the love in my mama's eyes for both of them."
Samantha came up to her partner and rested her chin on her shoulder.
"But that was a long time ago, Fel. What if your mama doesn't even want to see them? Don't you think he would've reconnected with them or at least told you about them?”
Okay, Samantha did have a point, but Felicity had been dreaming about finding her real father for as long as she could remember! And hell, she was getting married! Was it so bad that she wanted her biological father to walk her down the aisle?
"Please Sammy, just don't tell mama." Felicity begged, using her signature puppy dog eyes she most definitely got from her mama.
Samantha sighed, giving in.
"Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you, star."
Felicity cheered and tackled her fiancé in a hug.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I promise we'll have a spectacular beach wedding!"
Samantha smiled and kissed her partner.
"I can't wait.”
The day before the girls' wedding, everyone had already gone to the resort they would be holding their wedding at. Samantha's moms and Felicity's aunts were helping out her mama as they got everything ready for tomorrow. Meanwhile, Felicity was excitedly waiting for the arrival of a certain journalist and business owner.
"Are you sure they'll even come?" Samantha questioned her partner, tapping her foot impatiently.
Felicity bit her lip nervously, her eyes glued to the resort's entrance.
"They have to..."
—
Meanwhile, thirty minutes away from the resort was a frustrated businessman as his car had gotten a flat tire, and the nearest town was an hour away on foot.
"Goddamn it!" He exclaimed, kicking the flattened tire.
BEEP BEEP
Luxy jumped, but then felt relief wash over him as a car pulled up next to his own.
"Hey handsome, need a lift?”
Flint looked the stranded stranger up and down from his car, licking his lips at the delicious sight of him. But perhaps what really caught his attention were his mesmerizing hazel eyes.
"You headed to the resort, too?" The stranger asked.
What a coincidence.
Flint nodded, unlocking his car and flashing the stranger a smile.
"Get on in...?"
"Luxy." The stranger replied, climbing into the passenger seat after putting his bags in the backseat. Flint hummed.
"I'm Flint.”
—
Felicity had almost lost hope when a car finally pulled up at the resort and two familiar looking men got out at the same time.
Samantha's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Are those...?"
Felicity couldn't contain her squeal as she ran over to the men and greeted them chipperly.
"Oh my gosh, hi! I'm Felicity!"
Both men were surprised at her sudden presence but offered her friendly smiles.
"You must be Alex's daughter?" The one with glasses guessed. This was Flint.
Felicity nodded her head, smiling widely.
"You're as beautiful as your father, kiddo." The one with long hair said. And this was Luxy.
"Come on, I'll show you to your rooms!”
Felicity had made sure to book their rooms as far away from her mama's as possible. All of their rooms were on the second floor, so she got Luxy and Flint to be on the fourth.
While the two men looked around and admired the resort, Felicity couldn't stop staring at them both, so incredibly happy that they had accepted her invitation. She looked between the two, trying to see what features they had that she might've inherited.
"You've got the long-haired one's eyes." Samantha said to Felicity quietly as she came up behind her. Felicity turned to her partner with a hopeful glint in her eyes.
"You think so?"
As the group entered the hotel, Samantha and Felicity's eyes widened as they spotted the latter's mama talking with a few hotel staff members.
"Please make sure there are no strawberries in any of the desserts or meals at the reception. My daughter is allergic."
Luckily, Flint and Luxy were too busy bantering with each other to notice their ex-lover. Still, Felicity needed to get the two men in their rooms ASAP.
"Sam..."
"Yup. On it.”
While Samantha hurriedly went over to Alex to distract him, Felicity grabbed onto Luxy and Flint's wrists and pulled them into the nearby elevator.
"Ha ha! Come on! I'm sure you two must be tired from your journey!" Felicity laughed nervously, pushing the button to their floor one too many times just to make the elevator doors close faster.
"Sweetheart, I drove three hours from the city to get here only for my darn car to get a flat tire a half hour away!" Luxy shared, then nudged Flint with a playful smirk. "If it weren't for this guy, I would've been stranded there for hours!"
Flint chuckled. "You were pouting like a toddler having a tantrum."
"Hey!"
"I thought it was cute."
Luxy choked on air, a blush creeping to his cheeks.
Felicity's eyes widened in interest as she looked between the two men.
Once the elevator doors opened, Felicity pointed towards their rooms, which were right next to each other.
"Thanks, kiddo." Luxy smiled, lightly patting Felicity on the head before entering his room to unpack his stuff. Flint did the same, but while doing so, suddenly asked the question Felicity was dreading.
"So... When can we see your father?"
Felicity gulped, unsure of how to answer.
"Well, you see, he's really busy with the wedding planning. Doesn't really have the time to uh, talk and catch up, yeah... But please enjoy yourselves! Okay bye!"
Felicity ran back to the elevator and sighed in relief. Now that the two men are in their rooms, she can finally relax.
But she really should've remembered to tell them that they had to STAY in their rooms.
After a few minutes of unpacking, Flint went over and knocked on Luxy's door.
"Hey, wanna go try the hot tub?"
Luxy smirked.
"Only if you're there with me~"
—
When Felicity exited the elevator, she bumped right into her aunt Carol and aunt Helen.
"Felicity, where have you been? Your mama's been looking for you." Carol informed her.
"Oh?"
Helen narrowed her eyes at her niece, sensing something odd about her.
"What's got you so nervous, kid?"
Carol gasped and grabbed Felicity by the shoulders.
"You're not getting cold feet, are you?"
"W-what? No, no!" Felicity shook her head, offering her aunt a reassuring smile. "I'm definitely marrying Samantha tomorrow."
Carol and Helen shared a look with each other, but decided not to push the young girl and just told her where she could find Alex.
Felicity found her mama stressing over what color carpet they should use to walk down the aisle to.
"Starlight! There you are!" Alex's eyes lit up at seeing his daughter.
Felicity giggled and ran up to her father's awaiting arms.
"Where have you been, young lady? I'm not the one getting married here, you know." Alex joked.
"I... went to check on my dress! Yeah!"
Alex frowned. "Why? Is something wrong with it?"
"No, no! It's perfect, mama! I swear! I'm just really excited to wear it, is all!" Felicity assured, making Alex sigh in relief before looking into her eyes with so much love.
"I can't believe my little star is getting married."
Felicity visibly softened, seeing a tinge of sadness in her father's eyes.
"Mama, you know I'll never leave you, right?"
Alex smiled back at her weakly. "It's fine if you do, star. Don't let your mama hold you back from chasing after your dreams.”
There was something in the way Alex said those words that made Felicity feel like he was speaking from a deeper part of himself.
"Mama, why didn't you ever get married?" Felicity suddenly asked. The question caught her father off-guard. This was the first time she ever brought it up with him.
"Well... Why do I need to?" He chuckled softly. "I've got my sister and your aunt Helen. And now Samantha's moms. I don't need anyone else."
"But aunt Carol has aunt Helen, and Sam's moms have each other." Fel points out.
Alex looked at his daughter carefully, trying to understand where she was going with this.
"Sweetheart, what are you trying to say?"
Felicity took ahold of her father's hands as she said:
"Everyone needs someone, mama. Including YOU. Why do you deny yourself the one thing you need most?"
Alex was taken aback by his daughter's words, his mind replaying flashes of memories that brought him so much joy, but also so much pain.
"You won't understand.”
"Then help me understand, mama!" Felicity begged.
Alex couldn't understand why his daughter was all of a sudden so set on digging up his innermost feelings. He swore off love the day she came into the world. She was all he really needed. Not some partner who would eventually leave or hurt him...
"Felicity, why do you want to know so badly?"
"Because!" A single tear trickled down Felicity's cheek. "Maybe if you reunited with my dad, you wouldn't be so sad anymore!"
"Your dad? Sweetheart, I don't even know who it is!" Alex confessed truthfully.
"It's just between Luxy and Flint, right? All we have to do is get a paternity test!"
Alex froze.
He hadn't heard those names in so long.
"Felicity, how do you..."
"Alex?"
Oh no.
Felicity cursed in her mind as Luxy and Flint appeared behind her father in only a pair of swimming trunks. Alex's heart was already racing the second he heard Flint's voice.
"Felicity, tell me this is some stupid prank. PLEASE."
Flint just looked confused, whereas Luxy actually looked like he suddenly regretted coming here.
"Alex?" Flint called out again.
"No, no, no, no, no! This is not happening!"
Felicity couldn't understand why her father was reacting this way, and it pained her to see him so panicked and scared.
"Mama?"
Alex took in a deep breath and tried to calm himself for Felicity's sake. Maybe he was just hearing things? Yeah. Because there was no way in hell one of his past lovers was here on the day before his daughter's wedding.
So he turned around.
And then he opened his eyes.
When he met the gaze of not only one, but TWO of his past lovers, Alex's heart couldn't handle all the intense emotions bubbling inside him and he promptly faints.
"MAMA!"
Flint reacted quickly and swooped in to catch Alex before his head hit the ground. Luxy rushed over and helped Flint situate Alex in his arms so he was holding him bridal style. Luxy then went over to Felicity and reassured her that her mama was fine.
"He was probably just overwhelmed, kiddo." Luxy said to her, resting his hands on either side of her shoulders. "Come on, Flint will carry him to his room and we can all talk there when he wakes up, okay?"
Felicity sniffled, but nodded her head obediently. Luxy and Flint followed her back to the hotel, where she unfortunately had to run into her aunts again.
The moment Carol saw her brother in the arms of a familiar looking stranger, she ran over to them and demanded to know what happened.
Felicity simply reasoned that her mama had overworked himself, not wanting her aunt to ask too many questions because she frankly didn't know the answers yet.
Helen narrowed her eyes at the two men Felicity was with. They looked strangely familiar, but she just couldn't figure out where she'd seen them before.
"Oi! What are your names?!" Helen called out to them, but Felicity was already ushering the two men into the elevator and pressing the button to the second floor.
"Don't worry, we'll look after him!"
Carol and Helen shared skeptical looks with one another.
Their niece was definitely hiding something.
—
Once Flint had carefully laid Alex down on his bed, he went over to sit next to Luxy on the sofa, allowing Felicity to be the one to sit next to her father.
It had been so long since Flint had last seen Alex, but by god did he look as beautiful as the day they parted ways.
Luxy, on the other hand, couldn't even bring himself to look at Alex. Not after how things had ended between them. Not after he'd broken his trust, and in the process broken his heart as well.
Felicity stayed by her mama's side the whole time, never once letting go of his hand until finally he began to stir awake.
"Ugh... I just had the scariest fucking nightmare."
Felicity awkwardly looked over to Flint and Luxy.
"Mama, please try not to pass out again..." She told him as she helped Alex sit up on his bed.
"Why would I– oh."
Flint did a little wave and flashed Alex a weak smile. "Long time no see, Alex."
Alex swallowed hard as his eyes focused on the other man beside him.
"Didn't I tell you I never wanted to see you again?"
Luxy visibly flinched at the coldness in Alex's tone.
"I only came at the request of your daughter." Luxy said, lifting his head up so he could look Alex in the eyes. "But if you want me to go, I understand."
"No, please don't!" Felicity objected.
Alex turned to his daughter, and then glanced at the two men sat across from them.
"Oh, starlight..."
It finally clicked in his mind what was going on.
"Alex?" Flint called. "Mind filling us in?"
Alex leaned his head back into the bed's headboard and closed his eyes, letting out a tired sigh.
"Long story short, I slept with the both of you around the same time 20 years ago and realized I was pregnant with Felicity a few weeks later. And now that my daughter is getting married, she cleverly went behind my back and invited you two to her wedding so she could figure out which one of you is her biological father."
Felicity hung her head low in shame, but the information had both men perking up from where they sat.
"You're saying there's a 50% chance that sweet ray of sunshine beside you is my baby girl?" Flint asked hopefully, which made Alex's heart flutter for some reason.
"I've always wanted a daughter..." Luxy said quietly, which also gained the attention of Alex's heart but for the opposite feeling.
"What happened to your engagement, hmm?" Alex said to him bitterly. "Did your fiancé break things off with your cheating ass?”
Felicity and Flint looked between Alex and Luxy as they slowly began to learn what happened between the two.
"On the contrary, it was me who broke things off with my fiancé after our last meeting." Luxy revealed, shocking everyone in the room.
"Why would you...?" Alex trailed off with a frown.
"Because it was never going to work out between us and we both knew that." Luxy smiled sadly. "We were arranged to get married for the sole purpose of producing an heir for my family's company, but it turned out, she was already pregnant with someone else's child."
Yet again, another shocking revelation.
"Her heart belonged to another. And so did mine."
Alex's eyes softened as he met Luxy's gaze.
"I didn't care if you never wanted to see me again. I was going to come back to you, Alex. I swear. But by the time I finally ended things with my fiancé, you had already gone.”
Alex's gaze then traveled to Flint.
"What made you come here?"
"Besides your daughter's invitation? I don't think I ever moved on from you, Alex."
Well... shit .
That certainly complicated things, didn't it?
There was a shift in the atmosphere. Felicity could tell. Her father looked so conflicted.
"I really should get back out there." Alex said, getting up from the bed and heading for the door.
"Alex, wait."
Felicity watched as both Flint and Luxy got up from their seat as well and took ahold of her mama's hand, one on either side. Alex looked between them both, his heart racing in his chest.
It didn't help that the two were only in a pair of swimming trunks. He'd been trying to avoid looking at their bare chests since he woke up.
"Whatever you two need to say to me, save it." Alex sternly told them, pulling his hands away from their grasps. "You may stay for the wedding, for my daughter's sake. But please, leave me alone. I'm not interested."
And Alex left.
Felicity frowned as she watched her father leave. Flint and Luxy both sighed in defeat, flopping back down on the sofa in unison. Flint glanced over to his companion, seeing the same sad look in his eyes.
"You want him, don't you?"
Luxy nodded.
"I reckon you feel the same?"
"Yeah... Yeah, I do."
And if the two men secretly wanted each other, too. No one needed to know that.
Not yet, anyway.
"I'm really sorry for dragging you both into this." Felicity suddenly apologized, walking over to Flint and Luxy with a guilty expression. "Mama never told me what happened. I just really wanted my biological father to give me away at my wedding..." She looked down at her feet. "And maybe, deep down, I kinda hoped that one of you might be able to make him happy again."
"Aww, sweetheart. Come here."
Felicity let herself be engulfed in Flint's warm embrace. And then Luxy came over and wiped away the tears streaming down her cheeks.
She was still a complete stranger to them, and yet...
They already treated her like she was their daughter.
Also, having personally witnessed their confessions to her mama and seeing the genuine love they had for him even after all these years, Felicity began to rethink her initial plan.
"I know my mama said he wasn't interested, but I know the look of longing when I see it." Felicity looked up at the two men. "You just have to win him over again."
Flint and Luxy shared a look.
"You want us BOTH to win over your mama again?"
Felicity nodded with a warm smile.
"I don't care which one of you is my real dad. I just know I need you both in my life, and my mama deserves to have all the love you're willing to give him."
Her little speech was all the convincing Flint and Luxy needed.
"Besides, I've seen the way you two look at each other." Felicity smirked, walking away from the now blushing men. "Now get to it!”
When Felicity was gone, Luxy awkwardly cleared his throat.
"So, how are we going to do this?"
Flint hummed.
"We do it the same way we did it before."
"Huh, okay then."
"We should probably put some shirts on first."
"Oh, yeah. You're probably right."
—
"Sam, Sam, Sam!" Felicity happily ran up to her fiancé from behind. Samantha turned around, just in time to steady her overexcited partner as she almost tripped on her own feet.
"Whoa, easy there, babe."
Felicity giggled. "Sorry, I just missed you~"
"Fel, it hasn't even been an hour since we last saw each other."
"...Still!"
Samantha fondly rolled her eyes and gave Felicity a peck on the cheek. "So, have you figured out who your real dad is yet?"
"Eh... Slight change of plans, flower. By the way, where have YOU been?"
Samantha sighed. "My moms can't decide whether we should have our honeymoon in Greece or the Maldives. They're still arguing in their room till now and it's only a matter of time before they're battling tongues.”
“Ah.”
“Yeah… anyway, wanna go get ice cream?”
“Ooh, yes please!”
—
By lunch, Alex had finished getting all the decorations up in the reception area with the help of a few of the resort’s staff members. He looked very pleased with himself as he pulled out his phone and began recording so he could send it to Carol and ask what she thought. He was so focused on the video that he didn't notice Luxy coming up behind him until he panned over and jumped when he saw him through his phone's camera.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked him as he ended the video on his phone.
"I was just on my way to grab a bite to eat when I saw you. Care to join me?"
Thank fuck Luxy had a shirt on this time.
But that didn't stop the blood rushing to Alex's cheeks because FUCK Luxy was still attractive, if not more so, and his eyes... Oh boy.
"I said I wasn't interested..."
Luxy quickly shook his head.
"No, no. Not as a date. Just... between old friends. Acquaintances, if you prefer."
Alex wasn't fully convinced with his words, but he was feeling hungry.
"Your treat?"
Luxy smiled.
Despite still feeling hurt about what happened before, Alex had to admit that it was nice being in Luxy's presence again. They'd only spent less than 24 hours together all those years ago, but it was the best few hours of Alex's fucking life.
"Have you made any new films?" Luxy questioned him all of a sudden.
"Luxy, I don't–... I don't do that anymore." Alex confessed, a bit embarrassed. "After Felicity was born, I took up a job in the same school Carol and Helen worked at as an acting instructor."
"Oh." This clearly surprised Luxy. The Alex he knew had been so passionate about his projects, he was so sure Alex would've made it big once people began recognizing how talented he is.
"It was foolish of me to think I would ever make it, anyway." Alex laughed bitterly, but Luxy could see the sadness in his eyes. He decided to drop the topic and bring up something else instead.
"Your daughter is truly something, isn't she?"
Alex's eyes lit up at the mention of Felicity.
"Yeah. Yeah, she is."
Luxy reached over the table and placed his hand on top of Alex's.
"She's an extraordinary girl, Alex. You raised her so well. And I hope you know how much she loves you and wants the very best for you."
Alex's breath hitched at their contact, and Luxy's words had him feeling very emotional again. He opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by another voice coming up from behind Luxy.
"Alex honey, there you are! We've finally settled where the girls are having their honeymoon!"
"Only because she gave me good head~"
"KAREN."
It was Samantha's moms.
When the two women got to their table, Luxy and Cathy did a double take at seeing each other.
"Holy shit. Cathy?"
"Luxy, the fuck are you doing here?"
Alex awkwardly looked between them.
"You two know each other?"
Luxy faked a cough as he turned back to Alex.
"Um... She's my ex-fiancé."
Huh, what an incredibly small world they lived in.
Cathy snorted, playfully slapping Luxy on the back.
"Yeah, can you believe I almost got married to this shithead? Ha! Good thing Karen's seed intervened!"
Karen shrugged casually, admiring her nails.
Alex almost had a stroke right then and there.
"Oi, Leroy. I asked you a question, dumbass. Why are you here?" Cathy asked again.
"Take a wild fucking guess." Luxy said.
Cathy looked at Luxy, then to Alex, then to their hands on the table, and it all clicked into place. She burst out laughing.
Luxy pouted. "It's not funny."
Karen snickered. "Uh, it kinda is."
Alex tried to pull his hand away from under Luxy's, but Luxy kept a firm hold on him, refusing to let him go.
"Fate has a funny way of bringing us all together. But I hope our past won't tarnish the future being laid out for us now. Especially for the union of our daughters."
The way Luxy accepted Felicity to be his own without even knowing for sure yet has got Alex feeling all sorts of things for him.
"Ah, yeah, um... I need to go." Alex quickly excused himself from the table and speed-walked back to the hotel. He walked towards the elevator and rushed to get in before it closed. Thankfully, someone already inside was kind enough to hold it open.
"Thank y– oh."
"Hey, Alex. Need a lift?" Flint smiled at him.
Alex really couldn't get a break today.
"Yes, please. I'm on the–"
"Second floor? Gotcha."
Flint was quick to press the button to his floor, and when the elevator doors closed, Alex felt like he'd just walked into a death trap.
Not for any malicious reasons.
But because being in close proximity to one of his past lovers has got him feeling a bit... hot.
And it certainly didn't help that Flint looked like he'd just gotten out of the pool, what with his slicked back hair still slightly dripping and his wet white t-shirt wasn't exactly doing a great job of concealing his impressive abs.
"Aced any auditions lately?" Flint suddenly asked.
"Flint, I don't act anymore." Alex said to him with a sad smile.
"Oh? I thought...?"
"Yeah... I thought so, too."
The elevator dinged, signaling that they've arrived at Alex's floor.
"This is me."
But Flint didn't want to leave him yet.
Not again.
Not EVER.
"Alex, wait."
"Flint, what are you–"
Flint pulled Alex back into the elevator, and without thinking, pressed their lips together in a long awaited kiss. When they pulled away, Flint apologized profusely, so Alex had to go back in for another kiss to shut him up.
The elevator doors closed, but Alex didn't care.
Flint was very forward indeed, but Alex himself wasn't afraid to match his speed.

That evening, Felicity had invited Flint and Luxy to have dinner with them at the restaurant. She helped her mama explain and fill in the other adults on what was going on, and after her aunt Carol got to slap both Flint and Luxy on the cheek, everyone eventually settled and thankfully got along with one another.
Alex and Flint were seated next to each other, and the two looked very happy to be in each other's company again. It made Felicity smile, but then she noticed Luxy keeping mostly to himself, not really engaging in conversation with the group. Samantha, being the ever supportive partner she was, gestured for Felicity to go to him. Felicity kissed her fiancé on the cheek before standing up and taking a seat next to Luxy.
"Hey." She softly greeted him.
"Hey, kiddo." Luxy smiled at her, putting down his phone. "You need something?"
"No. Just wanted to ask if you were able to get a chance to talk with my mama."
"Oh." Luxy's smile fell a little as he glanced over to Flint and Alex and sighed.
"I think your mama and Flint are better off together, darlin'. I don't want to ruin what they've already got going." Luxy told her sadly. Felicity frowned.
"You can't give up yet. There's gotta be something you can do to win him over."
"Sweetheart, I can't force your mama to love me."
Felicity's eyes landed on the mini stage near the back of the restaurant with a single microphone stand in the middle and smiled as she got an idea.
"Maybe you just have to show him how much you want him, then."
Felicity got up from her seat and offered out her hand to Luxy.
"Dad, do you trust me?"
Luxy felt his heart melt at hearing Felicity call him dad.
"I do, sweetheart."
Felicity grinned.
"Then come with me.”
Felicity asked permission from the staff first before initiating her plan. Once given the okay, she dragged Luxy towards the stage and whispered something in his ear before he got up there and tapped the microphone.
"Hello? Uh, is this thing on?"
Alex and everyone else turned their heads towards the stage, their chatter dying down as they wondered what Luxy was about to do.
Once Felicity plugged in the aux cord into her phone, she smiled and gave Luxy a thumbs up, encouraging him to go on.
"Okay, well, my name's Luxy." He said into the microphone, "And I'd like to sing this song to a very special person in the room tonight." He looked over to their table and smiled as he met Alex's gaze.
"So, Alex..."
That was Felicity's cue to start the music.
"If you change your mind,
I'm the first in line
Honey, I'm still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down."
Alex couldn't stop his jaw from dropping.
Flint was smiling widely next to Alex, evidently amused by the little performance Luxy was putting on. Helen and Karen whooped, cheering him on from their table. Cathy was recording everything on her phone, while Carol just listened, although you could tell she was impressed by Luxy's voice.
Felicity had waved over Samantha and managed to acquire themselves microphones as well, and together, they joined Luxy on stage to be his backup singers.
Luxy couldn't help but laugh as the girls even began acting while he sang.
"We can go dancing, we can go walking, as long as we're together
Listen to some music, maybe just talking, get to know you better
'Cause you know I've got
So much that I wanna do, when I dream I'm alone with you
It's magic
You want me to leave it there, afraid of a love affair
But I think you know
That I can't let go."
Seeing Felicity and Samantha singing and dancing up there with Luxy made Alex's heart burst with so much love.
"You really should, you know."
Alex turned to Flint, who smiled and gestured towards Luxy on the stage.
"Take a chance on him."
Everyone else in the restaurant was dancing and singing along to Luxy and the girls. Even Karen and Helen got their partners to stand up and join them.
And when the song was finally coming to an end, Felicity and Samantha urged Luxy to go over to Alex and finish the song in front of him. Flint even nudged Alex to stand as Luxy came up and took hold of one of his hands.
"Gonna do my very best, baby can't you see
Gotta put me to the test, take a chance on me"
Luxy stared at Alex with hopeful eyes as he spoke into the microphone.
"What do you say, Alex?"
Alex turned to Flint, who motioned for him to go on, so without wasting another moment, Alex surged forward and connected his and Luxy's lips together.
The whole restaurant erupted in cheers and applause.
Once they pulled away, Felicity ran over and hugged her mama so tightly.
"I'm so happy for you, mama!"
"Oh, starlight." Alex teared up and hugged his daughter just as tight. Felicity giggled and pulled both her dads in, as well. Luxy and Flint chuckled and wrapped their arms around Alex and Felicity, engulfing the two in their group hug.
"I think I know who I want to give me away tomorrow."
—
In the end, Felicity had gotten all three of them to walk her down the aisle, and she had never been so happy in her life.
She got to marry her best friend.
She gained not only one, but TWO dads.
And her dearest mama finally had love again.
It was truly, without a doubt...
A dream come true.
