Work Text:
a cold sweat broke out on rody as the pale chef stared at him in silence with pupils shaking and dilated.
“vince-“ rody threatened to start.
like a frantic cat, vincent pounced at rody with a kitchen knife. luckily vincent was quite weak in comparison, so rody was able to hold him back by his wrists despite his overwhelming sense of terror.
“vincent please. just let me go. i promise i won’t taste any different and you will regret this!” rody spoke with a shaky voice.
“i am sorry rody, but i just can’t let you go without knowing how you taste.” vincent said, his mouth twisting into a sick and cruel smile.
before rody could respond, the black haired male lurched forward into the nape of his neck, following by a sharp, throbbing pain in his ear. with this gesture, they fell to the ground, vincent situated on top of them.
rody let out a blood curdling scream as he realized his left ear was now making its way down the chefs throat, evident by the crimson painting his lips. vincent pulled back and wiped his mouth, looking bewildered at rody.
through fading vision and strangled cries, rody watched the chef stare down at the bloodied and crumbled mess he had become. this was the last thing rody lamoree had ever seen as his vision began to blacken further.
“anddd scene!” a booming voice called out.
the dramatic dim lighting immediately brightened, to reveal vincent straddling rody on the ground, both covered in fake blood, with a prop knife and ear.
vincent’s pale skin betrayed him, as the pink blush on his face was clear as day as he rested on rody’s hips.
“uh vince, i think you can get up now.” rody said while scratching at his neck.
“ah right.” vincent said, rolling his eyes and dusting himself off.
“you did a great job today vince, i’ll miss filming with ya!”
vincent hid the small smile on his lips. “you too lamoree.”
before vincent could insinuate he wanted to see rody outside of the theatre, manon if still on script interrupted their conversation.
“hey rody! great acting today, you looked nice!” she beamed, with vincent’s cold glare on her.
rody smiled at her with a glint in his eyes. “thanks, also would you wanna get dinner some time??” he beamed.
that fucking bitch.
as vincent could feel his blood boiling, manons reply snapped him out of it.
“oh ah, no thanks! you’re a nice guy and everything but i am already with someone.” she stammered.
phew. on second thought-
“would you want to go out with me instead, rody?”
he could feel his hands going clammy as rody tilted his head like a confused dog.
“huh? but im not gay? i mean you’re really pretty and nice vincent, but there’s nothing gay about finding the bros hot right?” rody rambled, sounding more and more unsure as he went
manon stifled a giggle. “you should just try it rody, he seems like a nice guy outside of his character.”
rody pouted and rubbed his neck. “i wouldn’t exactly say nice but you know what, why the hell not? where did you have in mind vince?”
vincent could feel his heart skip a beat and his ears grow warm. did that dumbass just agree to a date.
“i know a coffee shop down the street. let’s go lamoree.” he held out a cold, pale hand, looking down at rody expectingly with those dark eyes.
“woahh hand holding already?? i can’t imagine how long it’ll be until you want me to be in your bed!” rody said, not realizing the suggestiveness of his sentence.
it was only when he felt a strong tug at his hand and looked up at vincent’s blushing face that he quickly apologized.
the cafe was cozy and quiet, only lit with dim lamps and windows still stained with droplets of previous rain. vincent was grateful for the dark lighting as his face still wasn’t clear of blush.
“what do you want, lamoree? i’ll pay.” vincent said, pulling out his wallet.
“wellll i’ve always wanted to try flavored lattes and it seems like they have a sugar cookie latte! or a pumpkin spice one!” rody looked at the menu with practically stars in his eyes.
vincent rolled his eyes and sighed in disgust. “those sound vile.”
vincent cleared his throat. i’ll get a pumpkin latte and a affogato, thank you.”
they settled into a cozy corner with their drinks, and rody awaited vincent starting a conversation. which never came.
“sooo- how’d you like playing a cannibalistic murderer?” rody started.
vincent sneered. “a lot since it entailed your annoying character being put six feet under.”
rody pretended to be wounded, clutching his heart. “you’re so cruel, vince!”
the two men chatted long after their drinks were finished, not leaving until the employee was turning off the lights. they had accidentally gotten lost in each others company.
rody held out his hand for vincent this time, who rolled his eyes per usual before taking it.
“hey vin, i live near here, wanna crash at my place?”
vincent winced at the array of nicknames. this man was WAY too comfortable.
“sure why not. though it may not be much better than me sleeping here on the pavement.” vincent laughed.
rody jokingly punched his shoulder, eliciting a small ouch from the taller man as he rubbed his shoulder in pain.
was vincent always this weak??
only one way to find out.
the redhead scooped up vincent, who scoffed in protest.
“you think because i take you on a date you can just carry me around everywhere??”
“you can pretend you hate me all you want, but the blush on your face is still visible” rody said, slightly laughing.
as they got into his apartment, rody tossed vincent into his bed.
“rody- fuck- your entire bed is littered with clothes and wrappers..” vincent snarled.
“oh vince, stop being such a snob” he said, laying down and pulling vincent to lay on his chest before wrapping an arm around him.
vincent didn’t have a witty response this time, he only rolled his eyes and pressed closer against the ginger man’s chest.
“goodnight vince, see ya tomorrow!”
…
silence
“night rody. love you.”
