Beep beep… beep beep…beep bee-
“Ugh, why is it so hot in here…?” Ming Yu tries to sit up, but for some reason his body was not moving as if it was stuck to the bed. He tries one more time with his arms supporting him. Puff~. His arms gave up on him.
BAM!
Ming Yu flinches at the sound of his door getting slammed open. “Ah Ming, It’s time to wake up! You’re going to be late if you get ready now!”
Ah, it’s my mum . Ming Yu thought. Suddenly, Ming Yu feels a cold hand lightly pressing on his forehead.
“Oh my god! Ah Ming you are burning up! I will bring you a wet towel, just stay in bed.” Ming Yu watches as his mum runs out of his room.
“Sigh, I guess I’m not going to school today. That’s a good thing though.” Ming Yu happily lies on his bed enjoying the fact that he may have a fever, so he doesn’t have to go to school for a while.
Ming Yu’s mum soon gives Ming Yu a wet towel and a medicine to bring down his temperature. He opens his phone and texts his friend, Hui Ming.

Ming Yu then puts down his phone. Not long after, he hears a ding sound. Hui Ming replied to him. He opens his phone to see a long message from his friend.

there will be a new
transferred student today
Ming Yu stares at the message for a while, clearly unaware that a new student is coming today. He tries to sit up but was met with nausea and pain all over his body. He decides to just lay down and reply back.

I’m just gonna sleep for a while. Ming Yu closes his eyes and quickly drifts off to sleep.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
The continuation of notification sounds awakes a very grumpy Ming Yu.
“Ugh… who is messaging me…” He reaches for his phone and turns it on. He squints his eyes as the light shines into his eyes.

Ming Hui had to rub his eyes and process what he just read for a few minutes. His new classmate called his friend COOL? He really needs to see him in person and ask him what gave him the idea that Hui Ming was cool.
Nah bro I need to reply to this asap. Ming Hui slowly typed his reply until his mum came in and interrupted him.
“Ah Ming! Your dinner is here!” Ming Yu’s mum walks in carrying a tray of food. Ming Yu slowly sits up with the help of his mum's support. Wait, dinner?!
Ming Yu quickly turns to his mum, “It’s night time already? Does that mean I skipped breakfast and lunch?” His mum just looks at him before replying, “Yeah, you were sleeping so well I didn’t have the heart to wake you up. I prepared a lot of food for you so eat up.” She stands up and walks to the door before turning around, facing Ming Yu.
“Make sure to ring the bell when you are done eating!” She turns around and shuts the door. Ming Yu then takes out his phone and continues typing.

Ming Yu puts down his phone and starts eating the delicious food his mum cooked for him. I haven’t eaten this much food for so long. Maybe I should get sick more often. He quickly devours the food and leans on his headboard for a while.
Ding!
“Hm? A message from Hui Ming? ”

Ming Yu lets out a small chuckle before replying back.

Ming Yu turns off his phone and rings the bell. Soon, his mum came in to take the tray. “You should go shower and get changed. You need to sleep early now. I have noticed the school you won’t be going to school tomorrow.”
She then adds, “I will take you to see the doctor tomorrow.” Then, leaves the room before softly shutting the door.
Ming Yu slowly sits up to avoid any discomfort or pain to his body. He grabs his pyjamas and towel. He walks into the bathroom and starts taking off his clothes.
The shower head turns on and Ming Yu showers under the hot water. The water smoothly runs down his body, getting rid of the odour and sweat. Shampoo poured onto his hair and he uses his hands to slowly massage his head. The water cleans off the shampoo and the body wash on his body.
What if Hui Ming decides to leave me for that Kirupa guy? I mean Hui Ming wasn’t able to make any new friends ever since I became his friend. In the shower, Ming Yu stays under the shower head unmoving while thinking about what he was informed of today.
No Ming Yu! Get yourself together. You and Hui Ming have been friends since childhood. He won’t break our 10 years of friendship! It was just a compliment, Hui Ming deserved it. Even though I won’t say that to him. You shouldn’t over think!
Ming Yu wipes himself dry before putting on his pyjamas. He puts his dirty clothes into the laundry basket and off the lights. He crawls into his bed and drifts to sleep.
Hui Ming wouldn’t do that. Right…?
