“Your ANBU are worthless,” Sasuke spat, squeezing at Naruto’s throat one more time, as if to prove his point. “If I were anyone else, you would be dead.” He glared at Naruto, and Naruto’s smile widened, glad to hear his voice, annoyed as it was, glad to see the angry purse of his lips. Letting go, Sasuke circled around to stand beside him, right on the edge of Naruto’s peripheral vision.
“Well, the point is that you’re not anyone else, isn’t it?” Naruto said. “I knew it was you when you started climbing the tower. I wanted to see what you’d do.”
