You'd think a trained assassin that had turned to a pseudo life of crime, and a literal time goddess who had faced down daleks and cybermen, could handle horror movies. They'd thought so too. They had been sorely mistaken, and Rose was left to deal with the aftermath.
There was a sort of quiet noise, probably from the neighbours, and River jumped. She grabbed onto Rose's hand as the third horror movie played on the tv.
"Did you hear that?" River asked. Rose shrugged.
"It was just the neighbours," she said, though she was only about eighty percent sure.
"How can you know?" she asked. Rose shrugged again but smiled at her.
"It happens all the time," Rose lied. A white lie for comfort wasn't bad, she was sure River had told her a few as well. River smiled at her and nodded. With that dealt with Rose cuddled into her side, though she didn't drop her hand.
Rose found herself enjoying the movie. She hadn't ever been the biggest horror fan, but the movie that River had found was actually interesting. It was from Earth in 2491, and it had certainly scared River. A door slammed off screen on the movie and River jumped again. Rose smiled slightly to herself.
