Work Text:
A light shake woke him up from the tormented, always too brief sleep. Frodo was sitting up next to him. When he noticed that Sam was awake, he stopped shaking him, and stood up: “It’s morning. We must move.”
“How can you say?” grumbled Sam. Since they had entered Mordor, night and day had been the same, always a dark, crepuscular light.
But he got up. Of course. Frodo had to keep going. Whatever other atrocities the Dark Land had in store, he had to continue. And Sam would be at his side. Always.
He took his backpack: “Let's go.”
