"So tell me, Faramir-mine," Boromir said, voice thick with amusement, "is reading about the pleasures of the flesh the real reason you spend so much time in the library? And here I thought you were studying strategy. Silly me."
Faramir blinked. His fist clenched around the handle of his knife. "You went through my things," he said, tightly. "You are utterly insufferable."
"And you ought to be more careful," Boromir retorted, wiping his thumb along the corner of his mouth. "See, next time you spill yourself all over the archival velvet, someone less loving than me might find out. Imagine if our Lord Father Denethor found your… library paste… on the heritage fabrics? My, Faramir. What would he say?"
Faramir didn't know what their Father would say. But he did know it was time for revenge.
OR, the story about an escalating, brotherly prank-war that quickly spirals out of control; involving forged letters regarding tree-fornication, staged wet-dreams, petty thievery, vanilla ice-cream used as psychosexual torture, and more.

Summary
Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.
“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.- Language:

He chuckled, his gaze flickering to her for a moment before looking ahead once more. “You think me incapable of noble thoughts?”
“No,” she said, her teasing edged with warmth. “I think you’re capable of far too many of them. But subtle? Not so much.”
His brow arched, amused. “Not subtle? Whatever makes you say that?”
She gave him a pointed look, her smirk growing. “I saw you glaring at Éomer earlier. If looks could kill, Gondor and Rohan would have a diplomatic crisis on their hands.”
Faramir flushed slightly, but his laugh was genuine. “That wasn’t glaring. I was… assessing.”
