To wake up cared for

Summary:

Jaiden sighed shakily, her hands tightly gripping her head as it hung low towards the kitchen counter. She had her elbows propped up on said counter, using it as support. A sudden noise behind her caused her to jump in surprise. It was late, extremely, and so no one she trusted should be awake. She whipped around, catching sight of a white streak in brown hair before her vision closed in and her thoughts were slowed.

Work Text:

Jaiden sighed shakily, her hands tightly gripping her head as it hung low towards the kitchen counter. She had her elbows propped up on said counter, using it as support. Her teeth were gritted against each other hard as she held back yells and bile. She always got so unlucky when her faintness came on.

A sudden noise behind her caused her to jump in surprise. It was late, extremely, and so no one she trusted should be awake. She whipped around, catching sight of a white streak in brown hair before her vision closed in and her thoughts were slowed.

She quickly calmed, realizing it was just Cellbit, her friend and in-law of sorts. Even though she still had an arm propped against the counter, she felt herself begin to descend as her legs seemed to just give out. Even through the haze slowing her thoughts, she was able to realize that it had been a good bit and her vision still hadn’t come back, before promptly falling unconscious.

Cellbit had been hearing strange noises from the kitchen for about ten minutes now, and his anxiety was through the roof. He had heard Jaiden leave the bedroom earlier, and he had begun to worry she was in some sort of trouble without help. After a few moments of mental preparation, he willed himself to carefully climb out of bed and leave the bedroom without waking his husband up.

Cellbit walked carefully to the kitchen, being sure to be light on his feet. Once he arrived, he could see the vague outline of someone hunched over shaking, but it was too dark to make out much of anything. He reached over and flicked the kitchen lights on.

As soon as he did so, he saw Jaiden spin around and stare in his general direction, eyes hazed and cheeks wet.

“Jaiden?” He asked quietly, his voice raspy from sleep. “Are you okay?” He continued, a frown appearing on his face as she left him with no reply. Just as he was about to speak again, he watched her head droop and legs come crashing down.

He practically dived to break her fall, his knees hitting the wooden floor hard instead of her head. His arms were under hers, holding her up like a doll of sorts. He adjusted his arms to instead be around her waist as he repositioned her to sit up against the cabinet quickly.

“Jaiden? Jaiden, are you okay? What happened?” Cellbit blurted out as soon as she was propped up against the cabinet. He got no response from her unconscious self. He could feel his breathing quicken its pace as his anxieties drove higher and higher, Cellbit having no experience with her “episodes” as it was always Roier who handled them.

Speak of the devil, the man arrived.

Roier practically slid in the room, clearly having run from the bedroom.

“Is everything okay? I heard a crash-“ Roier said quickly as he looked at the situation.

“Um- I think? I came in here and accidentally scared Jaiden, then she fainted.” Cellbit explained from the floor, looking up at Roier while keeping a hand on Jaiden’s shoulder. He then, quieter, said, “I think she was crying..”

Roier’s shoulders slumped as he heard that nothing crazy nor terrible had happened. He walked towards where Cellbit and Jaiden were sat on the floor and joined them.

“It’ll be okay. We’ll talk to her about it in the morning. I think..” Roier paused, his mouth forming a frown as he shook his head. “Jaiden struggles to take care of herself sometimes. I don’t think she realizes that she can come to us if something happens.” Roier explained as he repositioned Jaiden to lay down flat on her back, her head resting on his lap.

Cellbit frowned as he heard this. All three of them had issues trusting people and feeling safe, but they had been so close for so long that Cellbit would’ve never guessed she didn’t even confide in Roier sometimes.

Roier pressed two fingers to the side of her neck, feeling for her pulse. After feeling it at a regular pace, he took his fingers off and began just gently running his hands through her hair.

Cellbit moved to sit beside Roier, leaning his head on the shorter boy’s shoulder. Roier leaned against Cellbit the same. Cellbit snuck a kiss to Roiers neck and Roier giggled.

“How long does it usually take for her to wake up?” Cellbit whispered as he watched Jaiden.

“It depends on how bad the crash is, there’s really no way for us to know when she’ll wake up again.” Roier whispered back with a sigh, unhappy with the information he was giving.

Cellbit just hummed in reply. He looked over her tattoos, never really having a moment to look at them in detail before.

“Richarlyson se despertó?” Roier asked quietly.

“Não sei, espero que não.” Cellbit replied in the same tone, letting out a yawn after. Roier nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, Jaiden’s eyes slowly fluttered open. She quickly glanced around her environment, happy to be somewhere she recognized as home. She then looked up at Roier and Cellbit.

Roier smiled down at her. “Hola Jaiden, estás bien?” He asked slowly, his fingers still gently running through her hair. Jaiden didn’t reply, mind too foggy to comprehend Spanish, hardly clear enough to comprehend english.

“You okay Jaiden?” Cellbit asked, noticing her confusion at the Spanish. He smiled softly.

She took a few moments to just blink before she nodded. After a small pause she said, “I’m okay.. tired.” She mumbled, hoping the words made sense. Her eyes stung and head pounded, most of her body ached. She was very happy that she had already changed into her pajamas.

The three just sat in silence for a bit. Cellbit and Roier giving Jaiden time to recuperate while Jaiden longed for her bed. After she had collected herself enough to speak properly, she did so.

“Can we go to bed? I may need some.. help.” Jaiden requested, averting her eyes from the pair. She hated asking for help, asking for anything, especially from Roier and Cellbit who had already done so much for her.

“Sí, sí.” Roier quickly replied while Cellbit nodded. Roier slid his hands under Jaiden’s shoulder and began slowly pushing her to sit up with her assistance. Once she was sitting up straight, she blinked a few times rapidly then nodded and began moving to stand up.

Cellbit was already standing and moved to be in front of her, reaching an arm out as an offer of support. She graciously took it, using it to put a little weight on and push herself up to a stand. Once she was upright, she wobbled a little bit, the hand not on Cellbit’s arm came up to hold her head as she let out a little “woah”

“Careful!” Roier said as he quickly moved to stand up himself. He placed a hand on her shoulder. “a little laggy?” He asked, to which she nodded.

After a short moment of her readjusting, she began walking towards the bedroom. Cellbit walked beside her, his arm still being used as support, and Roier walked behind the two.

As they began walking down a hallway, a door towards the end creaked open, and out popped a child’s head. Richarlyson’s hair was a mess and by the absence of one of his legs it was shown that he hadn’t even bothered to put his prosthetic on.

“Richas? Tudo bem?” Cellbit asked, slowing down his pace a little. Richarlyson hesitated for a moment before shaking his head no, signing something that couldn’t be seen through the dark with a sniffle.

Jaiden let go of Cellbit, understanding that Cellbit wanted to run over to Richas. Roier placed a hand on her shoulder as Cellbit did just that, running over to Richarlyson and scooping the young child up.

“O que aconteceu? O que está errado?” Cellbit said quickly, hugging Richas close. He peeked into Richarlyson’s room, relieved to find nothing out of the norm.

Jaiden and Roier continued to their bedroom, Jaiden not hesitating to flop onto the bed as soon as she could. Roier let out a laugh, then copied her and flopped right beside her.

“Debes estar muy cansada. Very tired?” Roier said as he rolled over onto his back. Jaiden nodded to his question.

Cellbit entered the room quietly, kicking the door shut behind him as he gently held Richas in his arms.

“Richarlyson is gonna sleep in our bed tonight. He had a nightmare then heard all the noises and got scared.” Cellbit explained as he climbed into the bed, placing Richas down between himself and Roier.

“Aww Richas, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be noisy or to wake you.” Jaiden quickly apologized, but Richarlyson just shook his head.

“It wasn’t your fault Jaiden, no need to apologize.” Cellbit replied, a little bit of sternness in his voice. Richarlyson nodded to what Cellbit said.

Jaiden shrugged, no further response. She seemed to fall asleep pretty fast. Cellbit let out a small huff of a laugh before laying down in a comfortable position. He spooned Richarlyson, holding the child close, while having a arm thrown out around Roier’s waist. Roier reached an arm over and scratched Cellbit’s head affectionately. The three falling asleep soon after Jaiden.
