Chapter Text

Chat Noir watched as Ladybug fought, admiring her talent as always.

The Akuma for today was some sort of witch and was currently being a bit of a pain.

“Chat watch out!” Ladybug screamed

He turned just in time to see the Akuma draw some sort of sigil and direct it's effect towards him. He moved to dodge but it was too late, already getting caught up in its magic.

He hit the ground, wind getting knocked out of him.

Groaning, he forced himself to stand so that he could return to his lady.

Except.

He wasn't in Paris anymore.

Infact, it was nighttime!

The sound of boots landing had him looking in the direction of the noise, only to see a man dressed in some sort of black costume with another next to him in reds, yellows, and greens.

“Who are you and what are you doing in my city?”

They spoke in english?

He swallowed thickly, how does he explain this then prove it?

Chat Noir raised his hands in an attempt to show he wasn't a threat, “I'm Chat Noir a hero from Paris, I was transported via magic to here. Wherever here is.”

He gave his best english reply, hoping that whoever these two people were would trust he was telling the truth.

“I believe you. I'm Batman and this is Robin. You're in Gotham city. Come with us, we'll get you home.”

Chat's shoulders dropped in relief, his lady's luck was on his side!

However the little one, Robin, didn't seem to approve.

Robin argued, “How do you know he's telling the truth? What if he's an assassin! You cannot just trust everyone, it's naive. What would father-”

“Robin.” Batman scolded.

Clearly, Chat Noir had found his way into… whatever this was.

Suddenly, the Batman paused.

He turned to Chat.

“Apparently one of us swapped with you. You came here and Red Robin went there. He just gave me a report, you are telling the truth and he's assisting your partner as we speak.”

Chat Noir grinned, “Purr-fect! Glad to know my lady is in good paws!”

Robin groaned and pulled at his hair, obviously not fond of puns.

But Batman on the other hand… Chat watched with surprise and interest as he stifled laughter. Only moderately succeeding.

Robin sneered, “Batman does not laugh.”

Batman chuckled, “This one does.”

Chat Noir smiled, “What's wrong with a little fun? It's the cat's meow!”

The older one began to laugh again, trying a little less to hide it. Robin just scowled. It wasn't until a few minutes later of corny puns and bad jokes that they made it to their destination. Said destination was a sleek black car. Humorously dubbed, the Batmobile.

All of them got into the car and Chat found himself nervous. The vehicle felt more like a death trap than a car.

A call came part way through their drive.

“Hey Di- er, Batman. Didn't know we had our guest present, sorry.”

Batman smiled, “All good Red, report?”

Chat Noir watched as Red gave a report on the Akuma they'd been fighting. This must be the Red Robin they'd spoken of earlier.

Suddenly he could hear his lady, “Chat? Chat, are you okay?”

He grinned and waved to the camera, “Right here m’lady, I'm okay.”

Ladybug sighed in relief, “You're sure kitty?”

Chat nodded, “I'm paw-sitive Ladybug!”

She and Robin groaned in tandem, while Red Robin could be heard laughing along with Batman. Chat just grinned, happy to make good out of the situation.

Ladybug and Red Robin signed off, Red saying he'd stick around until Chat Noir had returned to Paris just in case of another attack. Chat appreciated it.

As they pulled into some sort of underground cavern, Chat noted with awe the sheer size and scale of the place. A dinosaur, a huge coin, and plenty of other oversized mementos littered the cave. It was truly something out of fantasy. At the center of it all was a massive computer setup. He was kind of jealous that they had all of this at their disposal… maybe one day he and Ladybug could have something like this?

The three of them exited the car, and Chat took in the space.

Batman and Robin headed straight for the computer though, pulling up a handful of tabs.

Robin shot Chat Noir a glare, “Tch. I'm going to shower, I'll write my report later.”

Batman paid no mind however and nodded, “Alright Robin, good work tonight.”

Chat Noir did feel a little bad for intruding on them like this but he knew it wasn't exactly his fault. He tried his best to ignore Robin's obvious distaste for him.

Batman turned to him, “Alright so we'll need to register you in the zeta tube system, we'll need a DNA sample to use as your form of identification so would mind if we did a cheek swab?”

He shook his head and took the cheek swab and the vial to put it in.

Chat quickly rubbed the inside of his cheek with the long stick and then placed it inside of the test tube vial. Passing it back to Batman he watched with interest as it was placed within a compartment inside the desk. A loading screen popped up on the computer and Batman pulled up a new tab, filling out some sort of form.

Before long the form was completed and Batman smiled, “Well, our time together has come to an end Chat Noir. If you ever need anything don't be afraid to use the zeta tube in reverse. You're in the system now so no worries there. Good luck!”

Batman pressed a code into the pad and the portal-like structure flared to life.

Chat waved a quick goodbye before stepping into it and then stepping out into Parisian streets.

He grinned as he saw Ladybug and Red Robin nearby.

What an adventure!

Back in the cave, Dick had just finished taking a hot shower.

The last thing he'd expected on top of having to take over as Batman was to have a Parisian superhero get dropped from the sky into their city. He didn't mind though, the kid had been a blast and if he ever got the chance again he'd totally invite the kid to join the Titans.

The kid did have a weird vibe about him though… like Dick had somehow met him before?

He shrugged and headed over to the computer, closing out tabs to clear things up before Tim got back and continued his ‘Bruce is alive’ mission.

Dick felt bad for the kid, he really did.

They were all grieving.

Damian, arguably the hardest.

Dick had always known that-

He paused, mouse hovering over the little red x to close the computer tab.

The DNA sample they'd taken for the zeta tube registry had also been used for Batcomputer files.

The sample had just finished submitting and the tech had found a genetic match already in their system.

Which normally didn't happen unless someone was any relation to a villain or a hero.

Dick clicked on the report, towel forgotten around his neck.

He braced himself for the worst, fearing it was some big name villain…

His heart froze and he felt himself want to puke.

The soft blue hue of the file report glared the lettering:

Chat Noir GENETIC MATCH FOUND:

Dick Grayson.
