When something makes all the men on the ship sick, Uhura takes over for the captain, Chapel takes over for McCoy, Masters takes over for Scotty, and so on. The story is told from Chapel's point of view, but we get a chance to see many of the women of the Enterprise in action.

When something makes all the men on the ship sick, Uhura takes over for the captain, Chapel takes over for McCoy, Masters takes over for Scotty, and so on. The story is told from Chapel's point of view, but we get a chance to see many of the women of the Enterprise in action.
The author brings a wonderful humanity to the characters, while still making them heroic Starfleet officers. And just when it looks as if this will be a simple story of "everybody gets sick," the author shows us that something deeper is going on.
Well written, interesting, and a nice balance to the usual TOS sexism. I mean, I adore TOS -- I yield to no one in my affection for TOS -- but women DO get short shrift in it. This story gives the women a chance to shine while still showing plenty of affection for the male characters.
Because it's not romance, this story has hardly any comments, but this lovely blend of adventure and friendship deserves a lot more love from the community.

Well written and an incredible look at how awesome the women of the Enterprise are....especially when it falls on them to save the day, and the men. Or in other words the equality of Star Trek marches on...
