Wine and... Video Games?

Summary:

drdtober day 13: talent swap

Work Text:

Veronika pours David another glass of wine. Probably not the best decision, considering, but she was finding his buzzed state super funny. Even if it means he’d have to stay the night, or she has to end up driving him home by the end of the night.

Either way, this was entertainment at its peak.

“...And then, we pull the covers off and we learn that the mystery meat has been his legs the WHOLE TIME. But instead of US doing it, it ends up being Karin, like what the fuck where did that come from?? Okay, canniballistic freak. Kinda reminds me of Hannah Ball or whatever the fuck from #murdertrending, but anyway—“

He was droning on and on and in about this damn horror game Veronika had forgotten the name of.

“—So we learn this whole time Karin has figured us out and decides that human meat is the way to go. Pff, sicko. So after it’s revealed that Gregory had been sacrificing bits of himself to keep us alive, she KILLS AND EATS HIM. HAHAHHAHA, WHAT??”

Oh boy. He was getting a little manic.

“And at the end there’s this whole anime fighting scene where her hair is down and she has a homicidal gleam in her eye— she is HOT by the way— WE end up killing and eating her. According to the folklore, we’re the cannibal Baba Yaga. So really fucking old! But the chompettes—“

“Wait, who?” Was Veronika going to regret asking?

“OH MY GOD I haven’t told you about the chompettes yet?! They’re, like, the biggest mystery in the damn game, holy shit.”

Yes, she was.

“The chompettes are all vegetables, right? But they were human kids whose souls were somehow put into food items—“

“—Is this just another weird fnaf spinoff?” Veronika asks, annoyed.

David looks mortally offended. Probably not the best thing to interrupt with. (Probably not best to interrupt at all.)

“Just because it has something to do with children, doesn’t mean it’s automatically fnaf related. That’s just the most popular franchise with kids in it. Jesus Christ, do you not listen to me? Like, at all? Kids are used in games to up the horror factor. It’s always scarier when kids are involved.”

True, Veronika agrees, leaning back in her chair. But David seems entirely too delighted at that sentiment. She takes a sip of wine as he continues. This is going to be a long night.
