Work Text:

“Three… two… oh, whatever,” Teruko sighed, pressing the twenty-minute alarm on her phone. She stuffs it in her pocket before taking her hand warmer in both her hands.

As soon as ‘two’ left her mouth there was a flurry of movement, followed by Alex shouting, “You were supposed to start at GO! AT GO!!!”

“Who gives a fuck about the rules!” Hu shouts back, throwing a snowball at him. He roars in response and picks up the ball he and Charlie started rolling. Charlie is quick to stop him, saying something while pointing at the snow, and then at Hu. Alexander subsided, growling something under his breath.

Hu smirks, ego growing, “Finally, someone put you on a leash! Isn't it embarrassing that it's fucking Charlie?”

“Don't you fucking dare talk about him like that!” The redhead defends, starting to roll up his sleeves. Charlie gives Teruko a hopeless glance.

“Stop starting shit!” she shouts half-heartedly. When it doesn't work, she gives him a half-hearted shrug. Charles's shoulders slump.

They part the fight a lot quicker than Teruko would have expected them to. Hu rushes over to help Veronika, who had already formed two-thirds of the snowman’s body. She circles it before patting some extra snow into strategic places.

Charles and Alex were just getting started on theirs.
At the final-minute mark, one was missing a face and the other looked like it could win a hundred bucks– maybe two hundred, since Hu was temperamental and hadn't destroyed it yet.

“I don't think I have to spend the time to think about it. Veronika and Hu win.”

With a shout of joy, Hu envelops Veronika in a hug, lifting her to swing her around. After a surprised yelp, the girl in red starts giggling, wrapping her arms around Hu lovingly.

“What?!” Alexander explodes. “You didn't even look at ours!”

“You only had two-thirds of the body done and the torso was so small your crown was bigger than it. All I see is cake,” Hu supplies.

Before Alex could snap at her, Charlie pulls him down to his level and kisses him on the cheek, “I think we won.”

Alex mumbles something, flustered.
