Work Text:
October 14th.
The bed is icy cold when Minho opens his eyes and tiredly pats the mattress, looking for his personal heater. He groans in vexation when he’s faced with emptiness.
“‘Sung?”
No response. Minho wipes the fatigue away from his eyes, finally opening them.
As his visual function begins doing its work, the auditory one awakes. He can hear pans clinking in the kitchen of their apartment. And that’s his cue to get out of bed.
He almost trips over the comfort that had fallen onto the floor god knows when, and heads outside in the hallway.
The door to his left leads to what was supposed to be Jisung’s own room— now it’s used as a studio where his boyfriend works on songs and covers for his Instagram account.
He recently posted one, and it gained the attention it deserved. Minho is proud.
Walking out in the large expanse of space that makes up their cozy living room and kitchen (only parted by a long island), he sees his rockstar with his hands on his head pacing around.
“Baby?” he speaks quietly, morning deep voice not having worn off yet. “Hey.”
Jisung doesn't hear. He looks down into the pan and lets out a sigh, continuing to stir the food with chopsticks.
Minho decides to freshen up before anything, so he turns around and enters the room across the studio, that being the bathroom.
His hair is a mess, maybe an even bigger mess than whatever Jisung is cooking, so he ruffles it with his right hand.
It takes him about seven minutes to finish his morning routine. He already misses his boyfriend a crazy amount, so this time he beelines straight for him.
“Morning.” he says, wrapping his arms around Jisung’s waist, who’s humming along to a bubbly love song they both know so well.
Jisung screeches, the chopsticks falling out of his hand, causing the boiled water to attack.
“Hyung!” he wipes at his burnt skin, turning around to glare at Minho. “You can't do that.”
“Sorry,”
Minho smiles down at him and leans down to steal a peck on the lips.
“Forgiven.”
They stare into each other’s eyes lovingly, until the water has had enough. It runs down on the electric stove, causing chaos.
“Shit,” Jisung panics, turning it off and grabbing a few tissues. He manages to burn his fingertips while at it. “Sorry.”
The older senses his state of agitation and stops him.
Jisung, for some reason, is hysterical this morning. They have a day off schedule— yesterday was packed and so is tomorrow— so there’s really no explanation for his behaviour.
“Jisung.” Minho turns him back around, pinning him against the white counter. He searches his eyes for answers. “What’s up with you, baby?”
“I–” he wants to make up an excuse, but he knows there's no need to lie because the man in front of him knows him thoroughly inside out. “Today’s special, and,” he looks at the floor as if the solutions are written on it. “And I want to make sure it goes well. But it hasn't so far.”
“Every day is special when I'm with you,”
“Shut up!” he slaps his shoulder, his hand coming to rest on the broad muscle. “Minho hyung, I’m sorry our breakfast is ruined.”
“It’s okay.”
“No.
“Yes, it is.”
“But,”
“No buts.” Minho kisses his cheek in reassurance. “Let’s eat. I’m sure it’s good.”
“Don’t laugh.”
“I won’t.” but he’s already smiling as Jisung grabs two bowls and fills them with equal portions of.. noodles?
“Promise!” he says as he sets down the food on the island.
“I promise I won’t laugh.”
Okay, well.
Lee Minho isn't one to break promises.
But he can't help the laughter that bursts out of his chest as he takes the first bite.
It’s not that it’s bad— he has tasted worse– but it’s pretty much flavourless. And he knows that it’s too spicy for Jisung’s liking. Why would he attempt to make spicy something?
Maybe it’s the steam that’s taking away the real scrumptious flavour. The steam that blurred the back camera of his phone when he took a photo of it.
He told Jisung it’s to keep it as a memory, but the latter knows that it's going to be posted soon for everyone to see that he can’t cook.
“I’m going to cry.” Jisung announces.
Minho laughs again, running a hand through his hair. He sees that it has gotten long again, despite having cut it a week prior. “Don’t. It’s good.”
“You’re lying. You liar.”
“‘M not! It really is good. It's edible.” he smiles, continuing to eat.
Because it was made by his Jisung. So it truly doesn't matter if it’s not as appetising.
“I should give up on cooking.” he sniffs.
“Maybe.”
“Hyung!”
They continue eating in peace, not needing words to express the love they hold for each other.
It’s ten when they finish. Now they have to choose who is washing the dishes today.
“Rock,”
“Paper,
“Scissors–”
“–Shoot!” Jisung draws rock and Minho draws paper. “Fuck.”
Minho, delighted, runs into the living room and turns on the TV. He watches the news, not really paying attention to that. He thinks about today. He knows what today is. How could he not know?
A special day.
An idea pops into his mind and he grins stupidly. He opens the Bubble app after weeks of not using it and sends a photo of the food to his fans.
He’s aware Jisung will receive it too.
With a pleased sigh, he turns his head and watches Jisung grumble profanities under his breath. They have yet to invest in a dishwasher.
The red string pulls him up from the couch and next to the owner of the other end.
He peppers the back of his neck with kisses, paying more attention to the mole on the left side. He loves it. Just like he loves the whole of Jisung.
“Minho,” he breathes, stopping his job. “Hyung! I’m trying to wash the dishes.”
“And I’m trying to appreciate my boyfriend.”
“Okay, get off. Seriously.”
He plants a few more kisses on his skin and one on his ear before pulling away with a pout.
Jisung scoffs and carefully returns to his task, finishing the last crystal glass after a painful minute.
“Done?” Minho taps his foot against the parquet impatiently, running his eyes up and down the man’s frame.
“With the dishes? Yes,” Jisung brings him closer by the collar. “With you? Only getting started.”
Minho cringes at the leftover taste of the food on Jisung’s tongue, but the taste of him is more prominent, and he dives in as if he’s starved.
The slightly shorter boy smiles and uses the strength he gained from going to the gym with his fellow bandmates to captivate Minho against the counter.
“Not playing fair,” the dancer murmurs.
“Fair is subjective.” the singer nips at his bottom lip. “I’m just optimizing my strategy.”
“It’s working.”
And then Minho finds himself sitting, having the most beautiful human alive in between his legs.
They kiss like there's no tomorrow; which, truth is, another day isn't promised, so they should as well make the best of it while they can.
It’s all saliva and love and passion and— heat .
But no, unfortunately, it’s not the heat of the moment. It’s Minho’s butt on fire.
He yelps, jumping like a cat into Jisung’s arms. Jisung looks at him surprised and a bit fucked up, until he realizes.
“Oh, I forgot to turn off the stove. Haha.”
Minho doesn't know whether he should laugh or cry or do nothing. He looks at him discombobulated and says, with a straight face, “If you wanted to eat ass, you could've said so. But roasted isn't on the menu.”
He receives another silly slap and an apologetic kiss.
A few hours later, during lunchtime, they’re hungry again. They’ve just been watching a boring movie snuggled on the couch since the morning.
Jisung appears to be even more nervous now. He’s been side-glancing Minho for minutes now, and he can't take it anymore.
“Ji, what is it?”
“Oh, um,” he coughs. “Sorry for burning your.. butt.”
Minho deadpans. Jisung sighs.
“Okay, look.”
“You look distressed. We’re not breaking up.”
“What?” the brunette frowns. “Of course not! Are you crazy?”
“Just making sure.”
“Dude.”
“Do not ‘dude’ me.”
“Babe.”
“Better.” Minho smiles. “So what is it?”
“We should go somewhere. I- I mean I’m taking you somewhere.” he stutters.
The perfect straight eyebrow cocks up at that. “You are?”
“Yes. Go change. Let’s go change actually.”
They settle on wearing something comfortable. Hoodies, because although the weather is good, it’s windy outside and they can’t catch another cough.
Jisung’s wearing a pretty pastel pink hoodie he ordered a few months ago. He forces Minho to wear a mint-coloured one.
Minho pretends he doesn't understand why.
“With your car,” Jisung nods to himself, sitting down on the cold ground in the foyer. They’re both wearing jeans.
“I can't drive if I don't know where we’re going.” his bones crack once he straightens up from lacing his sneakers.
“That can be arranged.”
Before leaving their home, they share a sweet kiss. Going outside as celebrities means no physical touch allowed. It’s something they hate, but must do.
“Let’s go.”
Minho’s car— rarely used— is parked in the basement of the huge apartment complex. They pass by their best friends’ dorms, knowing that they’re all probably out individually.
It’s an SUV Hyundai that both he and Changbin share. So technically it’s not his car, but whatever.
They use the elevator to go down. Jisung clings to Minho’s side, heart jumping up and down in excitement.
It’s a date.
His lover doesn't know. But it’s a date. It’s been so long since they last had one, and he’s extremely enthusiastic about this surprise.
He only hopes that they’ll be alone. Maybe sending a bubble message to STAYS about it a day ago wasn't the smartest idea, because wow, STAYS should really become a part of the FBI, but he isn't that stressed about it.
There’s a thought crawling at the back of his head, eating from the hypothalamus.
Why hasn't Minho congratulated them on the first anniversary of their love song?
Want So Bad was released on the 14th of October 2023, sending fans into a spiral of confusion and excitement and denial.
Okay, technically it came out on the 15th, but Jisung considers it to be on the I Love You National Day.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?” he mutters, eyebrows scrunched.
“Fucking hell,” Minho stops in front of the car. “Did I forget to grab the keys? Wait here.”
“No!” Jisung dingles them to catch his attention.
He walks back and snatches the black car key, pressing a button.
The brunette huffs and hushes, coming to sit down in the passenger seat. He glances back at the trunk, internally grinning at the secret that’s hiding in it.
Unfortunately, Jisung is very bad at planning and he quite literally doesn't know what he's supposed to do from this point.
He could either make Minho drive them to a café so that they can pick up some snacks, or he could tell Minho to drop him at the special spot he chose and make him go buy something for the two of them on his own.
His leg starts shaking, thud-thud-thud, the obnoxious noise of the tapping distracting Minho. He takes one hand off the wheel and places it on Jisung’s thigh.
“You’re weird today.”
“Thought you said you like weird.”
“Of course,” he nods and squeezes his flesh. “But right now you’re freaking me out.”
“I’m sorry, Min.”
“You don't have to apologise. Just– can I help you with anything?”
Jisung tests the ideas over and over in his head, and two minutes pass. Finally, he comes to terms with the second idea.
“Drive here.” he turns on the GPS and rests his left palm atop Minho’s warm hand.
“Okay, sir.”
And that’s how the two idols who are also not-so-shockingly dating navigate through the busy streets of Seoul towards a nonpopulated area that Jisung found about through Hyunjin.
Hyunjin is an artist. He is talented in both creative art and performative art. Jisung used to envy him, but now they consider themselves the best of friends.
“Baby,” Minho calls out, turning right on a narrow street. “You still haven't told me where we’re going.”
“On a date.”
“A date? What's the occasion?”
With a slight turn of his head, Jisung scowls. Did Minho forget? Really?
“Do you not want to go on a date?
“I do.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
The next fifteen minutes are silent. Not uncomfortably, though— they’re long past that phase.
They’ve been together since 2022.
It was J.One who went up to his two hyungs and told them he’d like a love concept comeback. The group’s manager had requested it a long while back too.
And, surprisingly, his idea was accepted and that’s how Maxident came to life.
Jisung was probably the happiest during it. He and Minho were finally lovers. They had been in love for years, but because of the dating ban and the pro-idol lifestyle and the fans and everything they couldn't date.
All those hard times were worth it, though.
“Love you, Jagi,” Jisung whispers, because he sometimes gets emotional during his ‘me time’, when he’s stuck inside his head with his past self.
“I love you too, ‘Sungie.” Minho slows down the car to press a gentle kiss on the back of his hand.
They’re going up on a cemented hill now. There’s a park to the right, probably one of the biggest in this part of town, and then, at the very top, it’s their destination.
A small parking lot soon comes into view. Jisung points to an empty spot (most of them are clear anyway, which indicates that no one is really around) and Minho obediently parks the car.
The passenger watches in awe. He absolutely loves it when Minho looks to his left, right, then switches the gear in reverse, then checks the rearview mirror and then steers the car into place with one hand.
Call him whipped, a loser in love, a fanboy, and he’d agree with you shamelessly.
The snacks!
“Oh shit, Hyung,” he puts on a pouting face that he knows Minho cannot resist. “‘M really craving cheesecake and Americano right now..”
Minho presses his lips together in a tight line. “You’ve got to be kidding me, Jisungie.”
“There should be a café like five minutes away. It’s down the hill at the entrance of the park. Or around there.”
However, Minho isn't any better. He’s just as whipped, if not more. So of course he nods when his boyfriend begs him like that so cutely.
“Go! I’ll save you the spot,”
“Fine.”
Jisung watches Minho drive away with dreamy eyes, wondering how he got so lucky with him.
Driving all the way here was an arduous journey, but he knows that Minho doesn’t ever mind.
A minute after he realizes that he forgot the necessities for their date in the car.
He planned to surprise Minho up there with everything arranged. How could he let his nerves get ahold of his actions like this? Jisung wants to cry for real this time.
Biting his already hurting lip, he takes the phone out of his pocket and dials Minho’s number, who answers instantly.
“Yes, baby?”
“Come back. Please.”
Minho doesn't even ask why. He knows that Jisung must be feeling anxious nowadays, hence their World Tour started, and he’s also working on the next album.
So, although sometimes teasing, he’s understanding and is willing to do anything to help him feel more confident and comfortable.
The car comes back into Jisung’s view. Minho doesn't park it this time since he has to go back down anyway to buy cheesecake, so he just gets out of it and runs towards Jisung.
“Everything okay?”
He smiles, wrapping his arms around Minho and inhaling his dizzyingly musky scent. “Yeah. Just forgot something in the car. Can you go inside and uh, close your eyes and not open them until I call you? Because I need to do something and I can't have–” he starts to rant.
“Shh,” Minho pats his head and is already making his way back to the vehicle. I can't see, can't hear. Do your thing, baby.”
It’s a hundred percent chance Minho knows what Jisung wants to do. He is his soulmate, he’s known him for— oh my god a decade is getting closer— and they’re one.
Jisung hurries to the back of the black SUV and searches through the trunk, taking out a huge wooden basket covered by a fluffy blanket. He closes the trunk and runs inside the park.
Once he’s out of view, he calls his beloved.
“See you at the parking lot.” and then he hangs up.
He carries the basket all the way up and then walks through a small path with branches that heads to a restricted area.
Hyunjin told him that although it’s private, the owner is long dead so he could claim the spot as his for now with no stress. Other people don’t know much about it either, so they should be completely safe.
Jisung slightly pants once he’s reached the top, and what he sees is an unblemished field of cosmos flowers, all of different colours.
It’s a scene out of a dream, or maybe this is his biggest dream come alive. Either way, he’s thankful.
Quickly, he makes his way towards a secluded area where an old tree prohibits the ground beneath to welcome the Sun at this time.
Knowing that he doesn't have much time left, he takes out the blanket and straightens it, letting it fall smoothly onto the grass. The sea of flowers is visible from here but there aren't any nearby, so they don’t have to worry about the bees.
Inside the basket remains a pair of glasses and a sheet with lyrics. They got the tangerine glasses in Jeju.
He could've brought one of his guitars, he wanted to, but at the last moment, he decided not to.
After he finishes straightening the blanket (it’s green and pink and also has a bit of black), Jisung walks a few meters and crouches down to pick up some Cosmos flowers of various colours.
He takes the bouquet with a white bow and a string and leaves it on the ground, now on his way to get Minho.
Two minutes later, Minho exits the car and sees Jisung on the sidewalk.
A stupid grin breaks on his face and he slightly raises the bag with one hand. “Got it.”
“You’re the best!” Jisung exclaims, having to stop himself from lunging at the taller.
“I know.” Minho proudly says. “So where are we off to now?”
“Follow me.”
The two soulmates walk through the park, hoods covering their identity. When they get closer to the field, Jisung stops.
“I’ll close your eyes.”
“Whatever you want.”
Minho lets Jisung step behind him and relaxes at the feeling of his slender hands skillfully blocking his view. He continues walking, using his cat senses— as Jisung says— to not fall or bump into any unpredictable obstacles.
Once there are no more trees around and the sun kisses his skin, Minho’s quadriceps aren’t overworked anymore and he comes to the realization that they’re on an open terrain.
The aromatic fragrance enters his nostrils and blesses him with the memory of around last year when he received an armful of a Cosmos bouquet.
Han Jisung has always been a romantic.
No matter how many thousands of times Minho told him he was perfect, Jisung thrives to be better.
He buys him flowers whenever he can. As soon as he gets home, he swallows him in kisses. They sometimes facetime while he’s at the studio and it’s late.
And of course, Lee Minho isn’t any different.
He pays for all of their meals. He gives him space when he needs it. When he got a tattoo, he made sure to keep it pristine, helped him apply cream and massaged the spot when it would itch.
In the mornings, he brushes his teeth because sometimes he’s just too sleepy to do it himself. He worships his body every night and cleans him when he’s too tired.
Albeit he whines, Minho doesn't mind doing it. He loves taking care of his boyfriend and loves being taken care of by his boyfriend the same amount.
“Are we there yet?” he takes a deep breath in of the sweet aroma flying through the air, engulfing the particles.
“Yes.” Jisung too puffs in and out but for a different reason. “Keep your eyes closed, please.”
Then the warm hands are gone, replaced by a blinding light. Minho tries to control his pupils to stay down.
Jisung moves around and reaches for the bouquet of Cosmos flowers on the blanket.
Not even thirty seconds pass before he’s standing tall and proud in front of Minho, holding out the surprise to him. “Open.”
Minho’s eyes land on Jisung’s, then linger on his lips for a few more moments. Jisung notices and pouts, pressing the flowers against his chest.
“Ah,” he smiles warmly, taking the gift. “Thank you, Jisung.”
“Just that?”
“What else do you want?”
“Hyung.” Jisung murmurs with his lower lip jutting out.
“Okay, okay.”
He steps closer to him and grants his lips a sealing kiss. He can feel Jisung smile into it, and he smiles too.
But it turns into a grin when he feels the gasp trick its way out of Jisung’s chest as he licks Minho’s lip, feeling a strong taste of.. tangerines?
No way.
Minho really– he really just– holy fuck, Minho used his tangerine-flavoured lip balm he got back at the Jeju airport. Jisung feels just slightly crazy about that.
He bites at the plump skin as if it’s a tangerine itself, savouring the sweetness.
“Hey,” Minho gently pushes him away, caressing his waist with his free hand.
“I wasn't done.”
“You can finish tonight. I want to see what you planned for us today.”
“Oh, right!”
Jisung smirks proudly and drags Minho by his hand towards the blanket under the tree.
He lets Minho inspect the zone, watching how he looks in every direction there is on a compass, then up and down, then his view falls on the most flawless boy he knows.
“I love it.”
“Ha! Knew it.”
They sit down on the picnic blanket, putting the bouquet of blooms in a water bottle Jisung fetched from their apartment.
Birds are chirping, butterflies are racing through the so-called-cosmos (flowers) like the fallen stars are, and Minho’s heart is racing even after all this time.
He catches Jisung staring so intensely at him he’s shocked it doesn't burn a hole right through his chest.
“Minho,”
“Hyung.” he corrects.
“Minho hyung,” Jisung clears his throat and beams a little at him. “Do you really not know what day is today?”
“Jagiya,”
“Wow.”
“Hmmm,” Minho pretends to think. “Enlighten me, maybe?”
A big frown settles on Jisung’s face, but he shrugs it off and obediently acts on it.
He grabs the tangerine matching glasses he wore with Minho as a couple a couple of months ago and hands one of them to him.
“What is this?”
“Our couple glasses! I know your twenty sixth birthday is soon, but there’s no way your memory is that bad yet.”
Minho laughs and lightly punches him in the stomach. “Yah, be respectful.”
“Yes, sir.” he rubs the spot, feigning to be hurt. “I know you remember. I know you know why’s today so special.”
Because he can't pretend anymore, Minno lets his head fall back in an overexaggerated gesture, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down. “Of course I know.”
“So?”
“Happy first anniversary of our love song, baby.”
Jisung knocks over the water bottle when he jumps into Minho’s arms. He cusses and sets it aside before returning to hug his boyfriend.
“I knew you wouldn't forget that.”
“How could I?” he runs his fingers through his hair, carding through the smooth strands.
“Right. You didn't forget about August 4th, so how could you forget about the release date.” he giggles and presses his face into the heat of his neck. “But hyung, you scared me for a moment there.”
“Come on, is this how little you believe in me?”
“Hah,” Jisung rubs his head against Minho like a cat, and they stay like that for a few more moments.
The weather is indeed beautiful, perfect for cheesecake and iced americano.
And since cheesecake is made out of cheese, which can't be let out of the fridge for too long, they have to eat.
“How much was it?” Jisung asks, grabbing a wooden fork and a straw for the coffee.
“Why are you asking?”
“To pay you back, of course.”
Minho looks dumbfounded at him, and with a scoff, he flicks his forehead saying, “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“This was my idea, but I didn't plan it very well and I kind of ruined it so the least I can do is pay you back for something you weren't apart of.”
“Makes no sense.”
“But!”
“No buts,” he shakes his head and takes a sip. “You can pay me back with something else later, but now I just want you to focus on relaxing.”
Jisung once again finds himself wondering if he was a hero in his last life.
“Okay.”
The wind is getting more forceful as the night approaches with fast steps. It’s only five, and they’ve spent the last one hour and half talking about nonsense, such as do aliens exist and do you think Seungmin pays for his and Hyunjin’s dates.
Time flies by in seconds, and Jisung remembers the whole reason he brought Minho up here.
He pulls away from his hug, shivering as the cold air intrudes through his hoodie’s holes, and takes out the small sheet of paper he prepared.
Minho, excited at the sight of another Hanpop (J.One’s amazing songs; fans call them that).
“Wrote another song you won’t be able to release?” he teases.
“Shut up, hyung,” Jisung glares at him through his deer lashes, making the older crumble from the inside. “Shouldn’t you be thankful only you get to hear these masterpieces?”
“Get started already.” he huffs.
Jisung nods, clearing his throat before looking down at the words carefully written on the paper. And he begins serenading him.
I fell in love with you unexpectedly
I think it’s so sweet, my baby
Couldn't get any work done, oh why
All these years spent carelessly, why
Wishing for a confession, endless thoughts kept me awake at night
But now with you every day, sugar ride, flower beds
Everywhere my heart
Spring snuck into my heart and bloomed the most beautiful feeling
Pink chroma key background, the surrounding scenes
Love is so intuitive, everything changes
The start of a typical romance, though I know it all,
I fall into you and get my hopes up again, ah-ah ah-ah
Minho does the little dance as Jisung sings, his own heart racing in excitement. This isn't the Want So Bad he knows— he would recognize it anywhere— is this a newer version?
Jisung continues.
-’m not used to it, I know it’s pain, but I really want it so BAD
Without a chance to breathe, the unfolding drama
Your warm arms and sinning heart pull me closer, highlight
My pulse goes up and down, it’s a breathtaking roller coaster
Ride, come closer just the two of us like in the past
Together we make one whole romantic comedy movie
Push and pull, one touch in public and and it’s all over oh
Look ahead and behind, approach me carefully
Get closer, kiss me tenderly
Let’s get it started, I’m getting anxious, can’t think straight
I’ll give you an armful of cosmos flowers
Love you, wanna climb into your chest, nestle in between yours ribs
Just to hear that soft thud that reminds me what love is
I’ll hold you tight and say I’ve always been waiting for this moment
If I hold it any longer, I might just blow up
Pink chroma key background, the surrounding scenes
Love is so intuitive everything changes
The start of a typical romance, though I know it all, I deeply
Fall into you and get my hopes up again, ah-ah, ah-ah
How much longer can I take, I wonder
I look at your picture, I notice the difference between your lips
Want them against mine, taste the love on your tongue
Baby, I said I love you,
I want it so BAD
The moment I first saw you, it was meant to be
For me, it’s you, and just you
My volcano, the thought of you creates an explosive chemical reaction inside my heart
Always you, woo woo
Pink chroma key background, the minty surrounding scenes
Love is so intuitive, nothing between us changes
The continuation of a typical romance, I know it all and I deeply
Fall in love with you and get my hopes up again, ah ah, ah ah
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
I've seen it all before but I keep freezing up
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
I'm not used to it, I know it's pain,
but I really want you so BAD
There’s silence if we exclude the calming sounds of nature.
That, until Minho sniffles and brings Jisung closer by his sleeve, letting their hearts connect.
“I love you.” he whispers with the biggest smile he can muster.
“I love you more.” Jisung says, all his nerves flying to the Universe, body instantly coming to rest against Minho’s.
“No way.”
Jisung backs away to cup Minho’s plump cute adorable mochi cheeks he has to physically refrain himself from biting.
“I love you!” he pecks the mole on his nose, their glasses bumping into each other. “How was the original ‘Want So Bad’?”
“Original?” Minho’s eyes grow big, and his face is so red it has spread to his neck and lower.
“Mhm.”
“It’s so–”
“-different? I know.” Jisung finishes for him, caressing his prominent cheekbones with his thumbs.
“And beautiful. I don't know which one I like more.” he sighs, lips curving up. “Maybe I’ll just have to choose you as the winner.”
“Definitely.”
They share another sweet yet deep kiss, and the words I love you roll in between their tongues, jumping from one another in an acrobatic dance.
Jisung still feels butterflies wildly fly from the right atrium to the left atrium and then to the two ventricles. And he never really wants them to go away— he wonders if Minho feels the same way, too, after all these years they’ve spent next to each other.
Minho does. He probably feels much more. The butterflies escape sometimes and they block his respiratory system. He doesn't choke, but when Jisung pulls away he feels like he might.
“Don’t go.” he whispers, trying to beat the longest kiss record.
“Min,” Jisung smooches his mouth and moves to the side, standing up with a groan. He holds out his hand. “Home.”
They pack up everything together. Jisung carries the basket back to the car and Minho follows with the bottle in his hand.
At some point he disappears, and Jisung calls out for him, but he doesn't answer. He shrugs and opens the trunk of the car to put down the wooden basket, then gets into the passenger seat and sets the keys in a compartment.
Minho comes back several minutes later and hops into his seat, handing Jisung a few daisies he probably picked up from the park.
“You didn't have to,” Jisung melts, smelling them. He loves flowers, especially this type. He loves Minho.
“I wanted to.”
The drive home is quiet.
Today didn't start too well, with Jisung almost poisoning the both of them with his (not so) skilful cooking, but it ended amazingly.
When they get home, they take off their shoes and put them on the rack next to the mat that says “welcome home”.
They’re still wearing their preffered glasses, but they come off when they start undressing, the apartment heated up in contrast to the cool October air from outside.
They take turns with the bathroom to be more efficient, Jisung going in first and Minho making them something quick for dinner.
The two eat on the couch while watching a gripping documentary about the wildlife, enjoying the rest of the day.
Jisung takes out his phone and opens a social media app, that being Twitter.
He doesn't use his phone so much anymore— he inclines toward the TV and his boyfriend. But sometimes he wants to peek at what his fans say about him. About him and Minho, too. He really didn't know so many people accepted their relationship. It’s not even official that they’re dating, and yet the public continue posting about ‘’minsung’.
And man, the timeline is filled with pink and green. A part of the is congratulating him for his and Minho’s song. The other is laughing over Minho’s bubble post from earlier in the morning.
“Hyung, why the fuck did you share that!” he slaps his shoulder hard enough to wake him up from his half-asleep state.
“Huh?” Minho sighs through his sharp nose, blinking. “What?”
“My noodles! You– you really just..”
Minho giggles and brings Jisung closer, throwing a heavy arm over his shoulder and pressing his palm against his half-visible tattoo through the tank top he’s wearing. “Never told them it was you who made it.”
“Still,” he pouts, head falling to the side, or maybe being pulled by a magnetic force. “You said it was bad.”
“No,” he rectifies. “I said it wasn't that good.”
“Same thing!”
“Shh, baby..”
“Oh my god, you and your early bedtime.” Jisung retorts in gruff tone, watching how Minho’s brown eyes are slowly losing their connection to reality.
“Mhm.”
With a sigh, and a sassy roll of eyes, he kisses his cheek and goes back onto his phone. It’s bittersweet. It’s overwhelming even, sometimes— the amount of love he receives from his beloved members, his soulmate, his fans. Everyone around him loves him.
It’s all thanks to Chan, really. Chan is like the microorganisms that started the human race. He sends him a quick “thank you hyung” because he just feels like it and shakes the thoughts away from his head to go back to spying on STAYS.
Jisung checks a few more posts with some tags, and they’re all thanking him for writing such a beautiful piece.
He grins, knowing that they’ll never get to hear the actual song.
