Summary
“I miss them.” Josh mumbles.
“I…I know. I do too.” I sigh painfully. Slowly turning and moving to sit next to him on the bed, close enough that he knows I’m there, so close I can almost touch him. My eyes tearing up once again as my hands start to fidget with parts of the bedspread. “I thought about them the second I got here. As soon as I smelled the air.” My left hand is losing the battle as it starts to gravitate towards him. Shaking more and more as the gap starts to close.
“They would have loved all the snow this year.” He half laughs out, sounding like it’s masking something deeper he doesn’t want me to see. A strained smile showing on my lips as I try to finish closing the gap between our hands. Hold his hand in mine and tell him everything will be okay.
