Chapter Text
The blue sky, clear and with the sun shining in its maximum splendor, is beautiful to see, but when night comes, another form of beauty is revealed. The stars are more noticeable as the sun goes away and in its absence, the moon takes its place, just as beautiful as the sun and fulfilling the same function. It is more beautiful when it is reflected in the water; in the sea you can see its sparkles, deforming in the water like a mirror reflecting its brightness and splendor.
So much tranquility, the waves of the sea are calm and the fish swim through the inverted sky without any concern, just enjoying their existence. A small group of these animals goes aimlessly, calm and without bothering anyone. But the group of fish is suddenly separated thanks to a spherical piece of metal that seems to have been thrown with great speed. In a short time, another metal ball is thrown in another direction.
"ATTACK!" -
The cry resonated through the chaos as explosions shook the ship. Alexander Hamilton, caught up in the heat of battle, barely had time to assimilate the transformation of the calm landscape into a battlefield. The air was filled with gunpowder and the metallic sound of clashing swords. Lafayette, who was leading the army, gave quick instructions alongside his best friend. The battle continued, the cannons launched causing sparks that in a few minutes turned into flames.
There was a big difference between the British ships compared to the other side; defeating one of those ships was already a great advance for Alexander. He, following his impulse, fought with determination and launched himself at the enemy ship to attack. Lafayette observed this.
– ALEXANDER! – was heard when he was fighting with two British at the same time. Lafayette followed him and also jumped onto the enemy ship, fighting hand to hand with his friend. With much effort, they managed to shoot down several of them, but the cannons launched at the ship were a small inconvenience, but also a sign that they should get out of there as soon as possible.
– We must get out of here – said Lafayette, and while Alexander listened to him, he saw a group of British who did not surrender. Alexander covered and defended him.
– You go, I'll take care of them – Alexander, still fighting, moved a considerable distance away from his friend. When Lafayette was going to reach him and accompany him, he did not succeed. The ship was being destroyed by the multiple blows of his companions.
– Alexander, no! – he shouted and tried to reach him, but again he could not get close. Now he had two options: escape or die.
– GO LAFAYETTE! – he was still in battle and the ship was already at a critical point. Lafayette, with no other option, left the ship and with all sadness saw how Alexander was still standing, but wounded.
– I'll see you on land – he said and jumped into the water so that the last two British could not reach him. The fire advanced and as a final blow, a cannonball destroyed the ship.
Lafayette's gaze was lost; He didn't move and he heard nothing but a ringing in his ears. His best friend had risked and sacrificed himself; what are the chances of seeing him again? They aren't very high, but he can't think about that now, there is a war to win and if Alexander died, for his sacrifice he would honor him.
The debris spread quickly in the water by the tide that shook without any control, the fight continued with much anger on the surface, but Alexander tried desperately to stay afloat, but soon the forces no longer gave him more, he let himself sink, little by little the air began to fail him and suddenly there was only darkness.
Deep inside his mind was wandering memories with his friends, his encounter with many people, his past and present, everything happened so fast - is this how I'm going to die? - he said to himself - not being able to achieve my true goals and without leaving a mark in history? I was able to accomplish some things, but none of them are enough to still be remembered-
-I didn't have time, I did what I could, I really tried, I didn't stop and I didn't waste any opportunity...-
-My God, have mercy on my soul, Father, I repent of the sins I have committed, I reveal my heart to you and I give you my life because you see it and you know everything. You know my desire to continue living, Father, don't let me sink into the sea and die, don't let me go, please, not now, because yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen-
-Give me a little more time...-
A powerful voice, full of authority, but calm, resounded.
'Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven. You will not sink nor will you die. Because as I see your situation I also see your heart, you have had faith and did not hesitate to come to me in your last moment, you have a path ahead of you, there are obstacles to overcome and I who am holding you will protect you, you will live because that is my will, your heart speaks for you.You want to live, you are saved.’’
Alexander opens his eyes and realizes that he is floating thanks to a piece of wood from a boat, - How long was I unconscious? - But there was no time to answer that question, the waves moved in different ways, whipping each other angrily, the rain fell unbridled moving in all kinds of directions thanks to the wind.
In an attempt to control the tide and find solid ground, thunder sounds and lightning strikes, which frightens him and almost makes him release his grip on his only floating figure - LORD HELP ME! -
‘’Don’t be afraid, he can’t hurt you’’
He thought - him? -But the wind swept through, pulling him out of his thoughts but rendering him unconscious again.
