“I love your freckles.”
Jake had said it off-handedly, staring softly at Drew. His eyes brimming with admiration. Catching Drew off guard, he blinked, focusing his eyes on Jake. It wasn’t a lie. Jake had always loved his boyfriend’s freckles. They scattered across his face like constellations, waiting to be connected. His freckles spread to his shoulders and arms. Some even scattered along his waist and back, which was currently visible as he wasn’t wearing his shirt at the moment.
They were in Jake’s bedroom, laying on his bed as they watched a movie, though neither were really focused on it. It had gotten hot, leaving Drew to take off his shirt, and Jake in his tank top.
“What?”
Jake smiled, “I love your freckles.” He repeated, leaning in just inches closer to Drew. The magenta haired boy followed the action subconsciously, his eyes flickering from Jake’s lips to his eyes. “They remind me of stars.” He murmured, eyes flickering across the other boys face, admiring each and every spot that littered it. Drew looked away, clearing his throat before giving a small laugh. “That’s corny, don’t say that.” He rolled his eyes, attempting to appear annoyed, though a slight blush stained his face.
“They really do though!” Jake insisted, his hand gently cupping Drew’s face. The shorter simply scoffed in response, face reddening as Jake ran his thumb along his cheek. Jake ran his finger along Drew’s face, gently tracing every freckle. “I could sit here and count every last freckle.” His voice was soft, eyes shining as he focused on Drew.
“Stop saying things like that.” Drew grunted, crossing his arms, and giving Jake another roll of his eyes. Jake did the same in response, though a smile graced his features. He moved closer, to the point that their noses touched. Drew finally smiled at him, his eyes flickering shut before he leaned in to kiss him. Jake reciprocated, both his hands softly cupping the boys face.
Jake was the one to pull away a few moments later. Though he kept his face against Drew’s, relishing in their closeness. Drew smiled before giving him another quick peck on the lips and fully pulling away. “Okay stop being sappy now so we can watch the movie.” Jake gave him an unimpressed look, frowning. “I’m not done!” He grumbled, sticking his lip out in a pout and giving the other boy puppy dog eyes.
“Eugh, fine.” Drew huffed, giving in. His face heated up, and he could feel the bush creeping across his face. Jake instantly smiled, moving on to Drew’s shoulders. His fingers gently grazing across them, eyes intensely focused. He slowly ran his hands down Drew’s arms, up until they reached the other boys hands.
He held into his hand, holding them with a smitten expression that never left his face. Lifting his hand, Jake gently brought it up to his face to kiss him. A small, gentle kiss against his knuckles. “Oh my god, that was the cringiest thing ever.” Drew complained, though his face said otherwise. Jake laughed, smirking before planting another kiss along his knuckles. Drew grumbled incoherently, hiding his smile with the opposite hand. “I hate you.” He huffs.
Jake raised an eyebrow, wrapping his arms around Drew and pulling him closer, “Don’t lie, you know you love me.” He teased, Drew rolled his eyes. “Mhm.” Jake groaned, feigning annoyance. “You’re so mean to me.” He complained, pulling away to run his hands along the freckles on his sides. “You’re annoying.” Jake just smiled.
He gently rubbed his hands along Drew’s back before pulling him closer and laying down, his head against the shorter boys chest. Drew sighed softly, his hand snaking into Jake’s hair as he closed his eyes, smiling contently.
