    Adar is dying.
    His mind wanders backwards to a time before Sauron, before the forest — even before Morgoth.

    When he wakes again he is surrounded by light. And Galadriel. She is asleep on his arm and he doesn't have the heart to wake her. When she does wake he learns she has saved his life and that it seems to annoy her that he continues to refuse to die.
