Lying on the Couch in Agony

Summary:

Dennis has a flare-up

Work Text:

As the Society got closer to their opening performance of A Murder at Haversham Manor, Dennis found himself extremely stressed.

Nothing was coming together the way it should, he didn't know his lines as well as he was supposed to, and everyone was on-edge and snappy.

He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised when the stress wound up triggering a fibromyalgia flare-up.

He lied on the couch backstage, unable to move because every attempt at moving any of his muscles just set off huge explosions of pain.

Annie came backstage and saw him there, not in his costume or anything.

"Aren't you supposed to be getting ready?" they asked. He groaned in distress, and their demeanor softened. "Are you okay?"

"Hurts" he whimpered. Thankfully, Annie knew about his condition so this didn't send them into a panic.

"Okay" they nodded in understanding. "I'll let Chris know. Just try to relax and I'll come back to check on you as soon as possible, okay?"

"Thank you"

"Don't mention it"
