Daniel blinks up into the warmth of a stranger's bedroom.
The smell of tea is hot, spiced, and thick in the air – full to bursting like a warm belly. Breathe. No more receding into strange dreaming. Daniel shuts his eyes for a few seconds more, and beside the bed, a throat that isn’t his works itself. Liquid sloshes in a cup. Nothing goes on anymore behind his eyelids.
