    The silence was thick, pressing down on the shadowed room like a burial shroud. Castiel stirred, a sharp jolt of pain running through him, dragging his senses back from the black void. His wrists were bound high above his head, the metal digging into his flesh, and his ankles strapped tight to a metal chair, cold and unyielding against his skin.

     

    It took only a moment for his blurry vision to focus, and when it did, the figure before him caused his heart to plummet. Dean. But not Dean—Michael.
