Summary
L grapples with his demons as his latest case follows the trail of a serial killer with an aptitude for making fine art out of their victims cadavers. Despite his repulsion, L grows a sordid reverence for the perverse genius behind it all.
Perceiving the gravity of L's deteriorating mental health, Watari persuades him to consult Light Yagami, an acclaimed psychologist. Light helps L gain clarity and insight into his own behaviour and the motivations of his case.
As the sessions forge on, L finds himself markedly intrigued by Light and his insights into the murderer, and begins to feel a nascent attraction towards both. As the case comes together, L has a growing conviction that the criminal and Light may even be one and the same.
