Rex, was settled rather nicely into his bed, his two tookas snuggled against him as per usual.
Echo, as per his usually, sleeping right on the pillow of Rex’s, really close to his head. So close as a matter of fact, Rex usually ended up without the soft fluffy pillow, ending giving it all up for Echo to sleep on during the night.
Fives on the other hand, having become the more protective of the two felines Rex hosted, mostly slept on top of Rex’s legs. Keeping his vigilant post there, just in case. Well, until sleep took over the kitty and Fives was soundly snoring with the other two.
Thankfully, Rex having gotten used to the snores of his feline companions, sometimes doing it himself when really tired. The sleep not as elusive as it had been with the mayhem duo at the beginning, Rex having been up during most nights when really small. Now, as they were almost fully grown, the duo liked to sleep alongside Rex.
Rex loved the purring the two did before falling asleep. The Captain usually being lulled to sleep while the tookas made those soothing and comforting sounds inherit to them. Most likely it was the same for the duo as well, them falling asleep right after or even before Rex did.
And so, having settled for yet another peaceful sleep as the three of them did, especially when it had been an off week for Rex from his duties. Some much needed R and R for Rex and so them all having enjoyed the closeness and the slow pace of the time of leisure.
Having once again been lulled to sleep after some reading and purring and well, a great plate of tuna for the kitties, Rex having enjoyed a large cuppa hot coco… all their dreams becoming quiet and peaceful…
And then all hell was breaking loose out of the blue!
The ringing! Oh the ringing of it all!
Fives was jumping up and down, his nails digging in deep into Rex’s feet. Thankfully the blanket cushioning some of the razor sharp blades hitting his skin, but yeah, Fives really was going crazy!
All the while Echo not being bothered at all, simply cuddling in closer to Rex, snuggling under the covers.
Fives then jumping onto the side table and kicking down the blasted, cursed alarm.
Fives was tearing the thing into pieces with such violent gusto, while Echo simply yawned and looked on having been slightly roused from his slumber. Rex too having woken up properly, simply shaking his head at Fives’ shenanigans.
Guess Rex really should not have forgotten to set the alarm for later at all as there still was a few days left of his leave time. But, yeah, it had happened and it was very early.
Rex simply calming Fives down after the clock was all but destroyed.
Coxing the kitty back to bed, under the blanket. Fives joining Echo in a nice bundle of fluffy fur. The purrs soon igniting, the three falling into a few more hours of some well deserved sleep.
As it was all in the lives of Rex, Echo and Fives.
