Shut up and dance with me!

Summary:

Everyone hates that one neighbor that constantly blasts their music in the middle of the night. Shockwave feels that too since his quarters is next to that music mech.

Work Text:

Sometimes it’s quiet, sometimes it’s not. Shockwave liked the quietness in the ordinary midnight. Where at the time, he could make use of it working on his science experiment or invention that nobody is known of. He rarely recharged at that time while the others were already laid on their berths. And it wasn’t as if he didn’t recharge throughout the night. Rather, he only did it when he’s finished. In the morning, that is.

However, tonight was different. Very different. Absolutely a horrible night for him. After all, what kind of mech would not be annoyed when another mech is blasting their music in their own quarters at this time? Not to mention their quarters were close to each other. Shockwave couldn’t be more focused on his workspace. Even his headfins were laid flat, which he didn’t even know could do that.

The purple bot never tolerated music. Whether it was played near him or not, during the day or noon, he never appreciated it. Not when that music mech is always near him and mocking him, even when Shockwave never felt threatened. It seemed that he just made it worse for him.

“For Primus' sake, why can’t he not just be quiet in his quarters?”

He wasn’t the kind of mech who would complain to others without a reason. In this situation, he’ll let it speak for itself as he gets out of his lab. About five steps later, he was in front of the mech’s quarters. Shockwave almost shut off his audials since the music was literally full volume, which almost damaged his hearing. He internally wondered and cursed on why everyone else seemed so unbothered by it. After shaking off that thought, he banged the door with his one servo as if the other could hear him.

Unsurprisingly, it turned out he did hear him and answered the door.

Straight off the bat, Soundwave asked in his usual less mannerism. “What?”

Rude. Shockwave always has the intrusive thought to shoot his face—

“Have you not known what time it is, Soundwave?” Already with his own annoyed tone. He spoke again while pushing a digit to him. “Playing unnecessary music around this time of night is absolutely illogical! I suggest you shut it off instantly!”

Guess what Soundwave responded with? He shrugged, his servos resting on his hips. “I don’t see any problem here, Shocks. Our quarters are far from Lord Megatron and Starscream ones anyway. Plus, the others are used to this. They’re probably shutting their audials now, unlike what you're doing here.”

“Impractical.” Shockwave criticized. “Shut it off. Now.”

“Hmm… No.”

“Soundwave—”

“I’m not gonna listen to you.” He spoke quickly as he slid the door closed. But Shockwave already held it before Soundwave even closed it.

“The heck are you trying to do?” The music mech yelled.

“If you’re not going to turn it off, I will.” Shockwave’s servo was surprisingly stronger.

At first, Soundwave wanted to shove the so-bothered scientist out of his quarters. Though after he thought again for a second, he may have another idea for him here.

“You know what? Just come in.” His own servo shot out to grab Shockwave’s and dragged him in the quarters.

Shockwave almost stumbled onto him and instinctively pulled his servo from Soundwave’s grasp. While his audials were still aching from the ongoing loud music in there. Just as he’s about to shut the music off, Soundwave changed the music first using his own system. It was the same genre as the previous music. But this time, the volume wasn’t as loud as before. Shockwave’s helm faced back at Soundwave with his signature kind of angry expression. The author is confused about how to describe it since he has vertical optics.

“What was the point of you doing all of that?”

“Which one are you questioning?” He asked back smugly with his arms crossed.

“You know what I meant—”

"Oh, shut it, Shocks.” Soundwave interrupted anyway. "Say, why not just dance with me for now?”

Shockwave couldn’t believe what he had just heard. A dance? Literally at this point in time? At midnight? Unbelievable.

“Don’t pretend you didn’t hear that. I said ‘dance with me.’” Soundwave repeated as he started doing his moves. It was the ones Shockwave heavily found... cringe.

“You have got to be kidding me.” The scientist uttered in defeat and facepalmed himself. After a few seconds looking at him, Shockwave was about to leave the quarters until that mech just grabbed him back.

“Nuh-uh! You’re not leaving my quarters until you’re jamming with me! That’s what you get for wanting to forcefully get into my quarters.” To Shockwave, that didn’t sound like a threat. Which would be ridiculous if it was.

“I am not familiar with such activities!”

“Then why are your mini ones able to dance if you’re not?”

“Do not equalize our programming!”

“Whatever then. You still have to dance with me if you want to leave.” That said, Soundwave continued to do his cringey ahh moves again. Shockwave internally tried not to snap at this time.

At the end of the day—or midnight—Shockwave shamefully danced randomly and almost as cringey as Soundwave did.

You wouldn't want to see them moves honestly.  –A.N.

Notes:

Yes... I have some explaining to do, do I? Which I'm not. I don't wanna yap why I'm late. Every. Single. Time. But don't worry, the last one is already done :D
