Summary
After Carlos tells TK he doesn’t want kids, TK tries to understand his own motivations for fatherhood by seeking advice from Owen. Following his own period of self-reflection, Carlos buys TK a pet lizard - but their first night as a family of three is a sleepless one. (A 4x12 coda).
“Why did it have to be like this? Why couldn’t we just be on the same page? Everything else is fine now. We’re in such a good place.”
“I know. Look. You thought I hung the moon; I thought the sun started shining when you were born. I want you to know what that feels like. But maybe you already do, just with your fiancé instead of with a kid.”
TK swallows back tears. He really did come to the right place this evening. “Because Carlos is my person.”
“Exactly. I’m saying embrace this amazing thing you’ve already got, and take what the universe gives you.”
Buttercup boofs with agreement.
“Thanks, Dad.” TK leans down and ruffles Buttercup’s ears. “And you.”Series
