Acceptance (Trans Giyuu x Sabito)

Summary:

Only two people knew about Giyu being trans. That being Mr. Urokodaki and Sabito. They both accepted him for it. The both of them didn't care if Giyu was female or male, he was still a person who deserved to be treated right.

Giyu's now the Water Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps. In final selection Sabito sacrificed his life to protect Giyu. Giyu couldn't be more thankful, but he blamed himself for it. Everyday Giyu thought about Sabito, and how he cared for him as a brother. Those happy moments Giyu thought about were the only ones to make him smile. Around others, he showed no emotion. He also didn't know how the other Hashiras would react if he told them he's trans. He already gets picked on enough, he didn't need anymore hate form the other Hashiras.

One day, Ubuyashiki called a Hashira meeting to introduce a new Hashira who also used water breathing. They had peach hair, and wore a fox mask. Giyu thought he was imagining things until he heard their name. Sabito...

Chapter 1: Where It Starts

Chapter Text

Giyu's POV

Where do I start? Oh yeah...

Everything is my fault, and that all starts when my older sister Tsutako got murdered by a demon, the day before her wedding. It was all to protect me too. I went around the village to tell people about the situation in hopes they would believe me. They said, that I probably murdered her. I took her haori from the closet and ran from the village, in hopes to find someone to save me.

I kept walking and walking, I didn't know where I was going. Until, I passed out from exhaustion.

Your sister died because of you.

It's all your fault you know.

You're a freak for being boy, you know you're born as a girl.

Maybe that's why your sister died. She sacrificed herself to get away from you.

Nee-san loved me right?...

No, she never did! You should've been the one to die.

She had a wedding a whole new life in front of her.

Maybe this voice is right, my sister did have her whole life set right in front of her and she just had to die.

I'm sorry...

I opened my eyes to see I was somewhere unfamiliar. I slowly sat up to see I was lying down on a futon in a room of someone's house. I looked over to my right to see a boy with peach hair, possibly around my age sleeping peacefully. There was also a window, I could see that the sun was just starting to rise.

Did someone bring me here? Why? It's my fault nee-san's dead, I deserve to die. It should've been me not her. I just sat in my own thoughts until I heard footsteps coming towards the door. Was it the owner of the house? The door opened to reveal a man wearing a Tengu mask.

The man: Wake u- oh, you're awake. How did you sleep last night?

Me: I slept just fine.

The man: That's good. I'm Sakonji Urokodaki, but you may call me whatever you want.

I just nodded. This Urokodaki guy seems nice. But why did he bring me here? Did he somehow come across me after I passed out? I'm just going to be a bother to him. I'm another mouth to feed plus, he might not like me if I tell him I was born a girl, but prefers to be a boy and go by boy pronouns?

Mr.Urokodaki: Follow me, I'll go wake up Sabito in a bit.

Again, I just nodded. I stood up and followed him into the main part of the house. There was food set up on a small table. There was three small mats to sit on.

Mr.Urokodaki: You can choose where to sit. I got to wake up Sabito.

He left back into the room. I guess the other guy's name is Sabito. Would he accept me for who I am? I sat down on a mat. I rarely even know him, so why would he accept me? The only person I know who excepts me was nee-san.

I was lost in thoughts that I didn't notice that the Mr.Urokodaki guy was coming back with Sabito. They both took a seat.

Sabito: Good morning! What's your name?

Me: M-my name's Giyu.

Sabito: Cool! My name's Sabito!

Mr.Urokodaki: Let's eat boys.

We started eating breakfast. I started to wonder, where did my sister's haori go? Maybe Mr.Urokodaki knows? I can ask him later, he wouldn't mind that right? But, I am already bothering him enough by being here. I started overthinking again...

Sabito: -yu?

Sabito: Giyu?

I snapped back to reality, with a questioning face on.

Sabito: Giyu, are you gonna continue eating?

Me: Oh, yeah. I got lost in thought, sorry.

Mr.Urokodaki: It's fine. Just take your time to finish your food.

I just nodded and continued eating. Great, I spaced out again. They're going to think I'm weird for being so quiet, aren't they? Wait! What happens when that time comes around? What am I going to do? Luckily it already passed this month, so I'll have to wait until next month to figure out something.

I finished eating and placed my dish down. Just then, Sabito and Mr.Urokodaki also finished. Mr.Urokodaki brought our dishes to the kitchen and started washing them. I didn't know what to do so I just stared down into my lap while fiddling with my fingers. There was a sense of awkwardness in the air.

I didn't know what to do until Sabito started speaking.

Sabito: So how old are you?

Me: I'm 13.

Sabito: So am I!

I just nodded my head. I really didn't know what else to say. Sabito then tilted his head, I was confused. What's he thinking about? Why is he staring at me narrowing his eyes? Did he already figure out I'm a girl?

Me: W-why a-are you l-looking at me like that?

Sabito: I wanna know how I can make you smile.

I was surprised. He's just trying to make me smile, that's nice. Smiling came easy with my sister, but, she's gone now. Just the Mr.Urokodaki came back.

Mr.Urokodaki: Sabito start your training, while I talk to Giyu for a bit.

Sabito: But, I want to get to know Giyu more!

Mr.Urokodaki: Start now, or I'll double the amount you already do.

Sabito: Fine old man.

Mr.Urokodaki: It's Mr.Urokodaki to you!

The two started arguing. Was I supposed to be here or, what? I'm confused, they're fighting like a father and a son. They don't look related, was Sabito also taken in by Mr.Urokodaki? Training, training for what?

A few minutes later it's like realized I was here and stopped. I just looked at them confused. Sabito went outside looking a bit defeated and Mr. Urokodaki turned to me.

Mr.Urokodaki: Sorry about that. I want to talk to you about a few things.

I just nodded. He started talking about how he used to be apart of something called the Demon Slayer Corps. I told Mr.Urokodaki about my sister, and he explained to me that it was a demon. Apparently, creatures called demons exist in our world, and they feed on humans. Some even having powers called Blood Demon Art, and the most powerful of the demons was a man called Muzan Kibitsuji.

While being in the demon Slayer Corps, he used a breathing technique called Water breathing. He told me that's what Sabito was training in. He's training to be in the Demon Slayer Corps. Good for him. Mr.Urokodaki said, that he also wanted me to train with Sabito if I wanted to. I told him I would think about it, and he understood.

Mr.Urokodaki: If you ever have a question just ask me or Sabito.

Me: Well, do you know where my sister's haori is? I remember holding it before passing out...

Mr.Urokodaki: I washed it last night, it should be outside drying right now.

Me: Okay, thank you.

Mr.Urokodaki then went outside. I just back into the room I was in earlier. Did I really want to be a demon slayer? Would nee-san be proud of me if I did?

~Time Skip: 1 Week~

A week went by and I was going to start my training as a demon slayer today. I decided a few days ago that nee-san would be happy if I did this to avenge her and help others. I've also become a little more comfortable around Mr.Urokodaki and Sabito.

Sabito has a great sense in justice and is very courageous, a brave, he basically has no fear and is strong. He would be an amazing demon slayer in my guess. I don't know how well I'll do...

Sabito: You ready Yu!

Me: Yu?

Sabito: You don't mind if I call you that, right?

I shook my head. He smiled really brightly. His smile makes me feel something else. It gave me the feelings of the summer sun, warmth, everything great about summer. He's always so kind too.

We both went outside. Since Sabito had started training before me, I had to start at the basics while Sabito continued his regular drills and exercises.
