Wind double-checks the recipe on his datapad again, bowl and spoon in hand—his grandma taught him well—then pours just the right amount of softened, near-melted butter into the bowl with the sugar, other sugar, and oil. It isn’t often that they get LonLon butter on board the Epona, so he’s determined to not mess this up.
He sets the bowl of butter aside and mixes the dough gently with one of the biggest spoons. The cooking implements on board aren’t really meant for baking sweets, but Wild’s massive, versatile assortment is more than enough for Wind’s amateur skills. He adds some rehydrated eggs, then pours this bowl into a third with flour and baking soda and a couple spices already sifted into it.
When it’s all mixed, Wind taste-tests the dough, careful to not get any of the sticky stuff under his scales: tastes perfect! He takes his time, dropping balls on the stone as close to the right measurement as possible, then slides the whole stone into the oven. He grins, though the expression fades a bit when he turns around and sees all the dishes he has to do now.

Wind’s Cookies
Bowl 1: combine 1 cup softened butter, 1 cup oil, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup powdered sugar. Add 2 eggs, then 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Bowl 2: combine 4.5 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 0.75 tsp cream of tartar, and 0.5 tsp salt.
Combine the two bowls together until just mixed, drop by the teaspoon on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes at 375°F. Adjust for high altitude if necessary, they can be crumbly!
