Four and Hyrule are quiet as the Red Lion drifts over the rubble, thrusters stirring the smoke. This used to be a town.
“Sky and Wild mentioned a new weapon that the Black-Blooded had,” Hyrule says softly, “but for it to do this much damage in so short a time…”
“Without completely razing the land,” Four adds. Only a few structures still stand, but the trees and bushes that escaped the fires are still alive.
The dashboard comms buzz briefly. “Any sign of survivors?” Warriors asks.
“Red Lion checking in,” Hyrule says promptly. “We don’t see anything but ruins outside.”
Wild chimes in over the speakers. “Blue Lion checking in. We also don’t see anyone to rescue.”
It’s a tragedy, but the best they can do is prevent it from happening again, if they can. Hyrule watches the smoke curl up toward the sparkling stars. It’s spooky out here, like he might see a ghost crawling over the rubble below any moment.
“Come back around and we’ll figure out where to go from here,” Warriors says. Four immediately pulls on the Lion’s controls to flip them around and get the back to the Epona. Hyrule can’t stop shivering.
