you stir my heart with just one touch

Summary:

A severe thunderstorm knocks out the power and leaves Tomura with nothing to do aside from play on his phone. Which is why he’s surprised when Touya decides to show up even when he tells him not to.

Notes:

I really hope you enjoy this piece!! I definitely have thoughts for how to get these two together in this one 👀!! Here’s Fluffvember’s Day 13: Rainy Days!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The rain is pouring down outside, spattering against the window with soft thuds, and Tomura’s computer is down. He doesn’t have a way to fight the anxiety that rages out of him as thunder rolls angrily through the sky.

His power is out, his laptop is dead, his new computer won’t be here for another week, so he has literally nothing that he can do.

Tomura’s hands shake as he uses the flashlight on his phone to find his candles and matches. He sets the candles up along the coffee table, in the kitchen and settles some candlesticks in their hanging places along the hallway. He doesn’t bother with the bathroom or the bedroom because he can just use his phone for that, feeling lucky that Izuku had given him three portable chargers and the battery packs to help charge it from Mei and Momo. Then he starts making his way from the last candle in the hall all the way through his apartment back to the living room.

He thought he’d have more time, but he should’ve known he wouldn’t. The storm was coming, but it wasn’t supposed to be here for another three hours, which completely screwed up his timeline.

“Stupid storm screwing up my plans for a game night. Ridiculous generator malfunctions. I should’ve just stayed with Himi at the stupid hotel,” grumbles Tomura as he lights the last candle in the living room and settles on the ground in front of the coffee table and tugs out his phone.

As he glares at the bright screen, he’s hoping that the storm will pass quickly, but as he’s dimming it, there’s a vibration that makes him grit his teeth as he checks his notification list. Below a warning saying that the storm has gotten more severe and shelter must be taken, is a message from Touya with two words, “I’m coming.”

Confusion swirls through him at the same time as want kicks into gear, but he shakes his head as his eyes find that weather notification again.

He opens his messages with Touya and types, “Don’t. You shouldn’t be out in this storm.”

After that, he locks his phone and gets up. Taking his phone with him, he heads to his room to grab what he needs to get comfortable in the living room. As ridiculous as it might sound, that’s where he’s going to feel the safest because of how many nights he spent sleeping on that couch out there after he managed to save up enough to rent the apartment. So, he grabs all of his blankets, pillows, and his weighted hippo stuffy before making his way back to the living room to get himself set up on the couch for the night. He pushes the coffee table back until it’s against the tv stand just to ensure his moving in the night won’t get any of his very flammable things near the open flames.

He’s just settling under his blanket, ready to turn on a random documentary playlist on his phone to fall asleep to when there’s a gentle knock on his door that he would’ve missed if there wasn’t a second one after it that hit just as the thunder went silent and lightning brightened the night sky.

Tomura huffs as he gets up, but he still heads to the door, grabbing his baseball bat as he goes because he’s not able to defend himself anymore after losing his quirk, but he does know how to swing a bat. Midoriya wanted to teach him about baseball when Tomura quietly spouted facts that he knew from playing a game, hence the baseball bat that he leaves sitting in the umbrella stand by his front door. He’s got it over his shoulder as he leans in to look out the peephole to see who is knocking on his door in the middle of a severe thunderstorm.

He drops the bat to his side with a groan when electric blue eyes, white hair, and a cocky smirk greets him through the stupid peephole.

“Ridiculous,” huffs Tomura as he unlocks his door and tugs it open, arching a brow as soon as his eyes meet Touya’s. “Didn’t I tell you not to come here? What the hell are you doing at my apartment?”

“Had the bird drop me off on his way to see Shouto,” replies Touya before he shoves his way into Tomura’s apartment and quickly dries himself off judging by the soft blue flames that dance up and down his body. “I know you hate storms, so I figured I could come provide some comfort in whatever way you might need. I also know that you are out of power and don’t have access to your games because of the storm, so I figured I could bring Natsuo’s old DS because he has a shit ton of games. Figured it might give you the opportunity to distract yourself in your normal way even if you won’t be playing your normal games. It works, and the green haired one gave me a portable charger for it and some battery packs for the charger. Didn’t even fuckin’ know that was a thing.”

“You–” Tomura doesn’t know what to say as he carefully closes the door to his apartment and latches the deadbolt lock as well as locking it properly. But then he turns and leans against the door, fingers dancing on the bottom of the bat as he looks at Touya. “You didn’t have to do that, but I really appreciate that you did. It means a lot. I’m set up on the couch, but there are extra blankets in the closet, and pillows, if you’d rather take my bed… Or make a pallet on the floor.”

“I’ll settle on the floor for now, Mura, then I can decide where to go,” replies Touya with a wave of his hand as he takes Tomura’s hand and slips the bat from it, smirking at him as he moves to settle it in the umbrella stand. “Were you going to hit me with this, Mura? Practice your swing on me?”

“I wasn’t going to hit you unless you weren’t someone I knew. Didn’t know why someone was knocking on my apartment door,” huffs Tomura as he rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest before moving over to his blanket place on his couch.

“You made a nest,” says Touya with an awe-filled voice as Tomura settles in his spot and curls under his blankets. “That’s adorable, Mura.”

“Shuddup,” huffs Tomura with a pout that he hides in his blanket.

He was initially an omega as a child, presenting before he was taken in by AFO, but his presentation was taken from him, glands ripped out, by a doctor and someone who had the quirk for it. AFO said secondary genders were a distraction, that they only led to problems, especially for omegas and alphas. Most of the betas that found their way into the villain’s clutches were left with their presentation, but their glands were stripped from their skin just to keep things “fair” according to reports. Tomura still has omegan instincts, even still gets slick, but there are no heats, there is no scent, nothing to specify who he is.

It sucks, but he’d learned to deal with it a long time ago.

Much like Touya who was initially an Alpha, according to his files.

“I’m glad you’re not hiding from your instincts, Mura,” murmurs Touya as he comes over and settles on the ground, he sits facing the couch, keeping space from it as he tugs out the DS that he’d brought along with the charger and battery packs. “So, are you ready to check out the games that I’ve brought? I won’t touch your nest, but I will set these on the edge of the couch for you.”

Tomura watches as Touya carefully sets the DS and the zipped up square thing that has “games” written over the top in a red marker on the very edge of the couch. It’s the only part of the couch that’s untouched by his nest. He takes them as soon as Touya’s hands are gone, to keep them from falling off, and he eyes them carefully. He’s never seen a DS before, which feels odd to him, but he shoves that to the back of his mind as he unzips the square games thing to flip through all of the games on there. His eyes lock on the super mario brothers game, and he’s sold.

“You can come in the nest, if you want, settle next to me? I dunno how to play this,” murmurs Tomura as he slips the cartridge out to put it in the DS before patting the space beside him and figuring out how to turn the game on.

“Are you sure? I can sit here and watch,” replies Touya softly as he adjusts himself to sitting sideways where Tomura could just lean over the nest to show him the screen instead. “That’s your nest, Mura, I don’t want to ruin it.”

“Touya,” huffs Tomura with an almost fond eye roll before he reaches for Touya’s arm and starts tugging until he’s settled in the nest he’d made of his sofa. “I want you to sit with me and teach me how to play this game, so please sit with me and help. You brought it over, so help me figure this out, silly Alpha.”

“Hey now,” grumbles Touya as he adjusts in the nest, paying attention to the throaty whines that leave Tomura any time he’s moving wrong in the omega’s eyes. “I’ll help, but only because I know how to play that one. That and Frogger are my games, though I played frogger on the Gameboy.”

“Well, then teach me how to play this, and I’ll see if my online frogger skills are any match for this game’s controls,” Tomura’s pouting at Touya as he covers him up before shaking the DS in his hand at him and leaning against him. “You play first, then show me how to.”

“How about you try this first, then I can help out if you struggle? I brought that so you could play, not me, Mura,” replies Touya with an amused smile and a shake of his head before he leans against the weight against him, nodding at the game.

“Just show me now,” huffs Tomura before he leans over further and shakes the game in his hands. “Guide me like I guided you when I taught you how to play the damn Papa Freezeria game back then.”

Touya snorts before he reaches an arm around Tomura, helping him settle more firmly between his arms, almost in his lap, before settling his hands over his. Tomura melts back against him, trying to force the flutters from his stomach away as Touya starts the game and works on guiding Tomura through the first level. Warmth brushes against his neck as Touya’s hands slip to the side while Tomura starts to get the hang of the game, and he shivers right through another level as Touya’s chin settles on his shoulder.

“I knew you wouldn’t need much to get the hang of it, Mura,” murmurs Touya with that sleepily knowing tone of his.

“Are you tired, Touya? You can take my bed, if you want to,” replies Tomura quietly as he pauses the game to tilt his head to the side to get Touya in his eyesight.

Those blue eyes are hidden from view by pale eyelids, but Tomura’s eyes fall to those pretty slightly parted lips that get licked by a pink tongue just moments after he notices them.

“I’m okay right here, Mura, no worries. I’ll move to the floor in a minute, promise,” says Touya through a yawn as he slumps forward a bit more.

“If you say so,” whispers Tomura gently, inhaling sharply when Touya’s head tilts and lips brush against his skin.

Tomura forces his attention back on the game and sets to work, attempting to see how far he can get before his own eyes start to droop with exhaustion. When little puffs of snores reach him, Tomura pauses the game, exits his level, and turns it off. Then he carefully maneuvers out from between Touya’s arms to settle him on the couch properly, smirking when Touya presses himself fully against the back of the couch. There’s just enough room for him to lay there with a sliver of space between them, so he gets comfortable in front of Touya and lets sleep drag him under.
